Noticed this player in SM Appliance store in Fairview. With HDMI and can upscale up to 1080i according to Techpoint, the distributor of Nextbase players. Good news -- with free HDMI cable at P5995.

Saw this at SM Cebu appliance center. Really interested in getting this one in the future pero Im more concerned if this can handle hi-res HD xvid/divx files.

saw the same thing at ambassador greenhills for 5,900. also with free hdmi cable. any news on how good this player is?

This is also the matter that i want to know. If this performs at par with the pioneer then this will be better in terms of the price. moreover, the free HDMI cable is a plus factor.

sana other dvd player brands will also include their HDMI cables para mas may competetive choices for teh consumer.

but it seem that nextbase made this a good deal!

major advantage nito is superiority reading bootlegs, kaso kung daig din naman sa pq at upconversion, better to settle sa branded na lang.

Can it upscale to 1080i using component cable? Component can handle up to 1080i. HDMI is better because it can handle up to 1080p. My Samsung HDTV doesn't have HDMI but can handle up to 1080p. I need a player that can be able to upscale using component cable up to 1080i. Thanks.

i think this player can't upscale via component, hanap din ako nito for my old rptv, sayang din since its compatible to hd 1080i, the only player i think that upscale to 1080i via component is the helios 2000 and helios 4000, $99 and $149 respectively, available yung 4000 sa amazon.

dont buy nextbase guys. 5900 is too much for a hdmi dvd player khit may free hdmi cable pa yan. I recomend the philip hdmi dvd player its price at sm appliance is 4998 at zero interest 1 yr to pay term very light paying scheme only 418 pesos/month u just buy hdmi cable sa ace hardware at 800 2m ang length.

saw this player at sm appliance store in mall of asia, its price at 5,000. don't know kung may 0% scheme, hdmi cable is still included in the package. it was showing ratatouille in a skyworth lcd tv. it was shown being upscaled to 1080i. the pq looks ok naman, pero hard to tell without any comparison. pero steelcrazy is right at a little more and you can get a samsung, philips or even a pioneer dv-400 that will obviously be way better than this nextbase. and with cdrking cables at 200-300.

bago lan ako sa pdvd.. kse naghahanap ako ng review ng lcdtv.. nakita ko lan tong thread na to...

hinde po ako very knowledgeable sa mga home theater setup.. meron po ako nito nb-891.. binili ko sya dahil sa

hdmi, usb at divx.. ok naman po sya.. ang pinaka important lang saken.. nababasa nya po yun mga divx movies

ko na naka store sa NAS drive ko.. yun NAS drive ko nakakabit sa home network (internet) ko at capable sya

mag download ng torrents ng mag isa (hinde kelangan ng pc).. at the same time.. nakakabit sya through usb

sa nb-891..

ang ok sa kanya.. kaya nyang basahin almost lahat divx, mpeg, (yun xvid minsan hang.. minsan ok.. depende cguro) bago ko po binili yun nb-891.. nag try ako ng pioneer DV-600v-s at philips dvp5980/98

prob sa pioneer.. hinde nya nabasa lahat ng files.. prob sa philips.. alang hdmi

yun lan po.. sana makatulong..

hi, i have the same model pero yun walang hdmi (NB-890 i think) and it can upscale through component connection may trick lang you need to connect the yellow rca then dun ka magswitch to hi-def. very nice dvd player also.

hi. i have the NB-891 with HDMI connected to my Sony Bravia via HDMi. does it automatically upscale the videos that i watch from my usb and dvd?

also, i cant seem to access the video setup and HDMI settings on my nextbase, merong "gray" area yung selections (for HDMI setup kunyari), hindi ko mapuntahan using the remote. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

access thru setup menu by opening the tray first and press setup. hope it helps.

medyo mahal para sa price na 5.9K. and it onl supports upto 1080i?

bili nalang kayo ng pio dv400 mas ok pa yata it upscales upto 1080p. price i think is somewhere around 5k or lower yata..not sure.

It's on sale for P3,995 with free HDMI cable at SM Cubao. The color of the unit I saw is black.
They said the sale is up to Oct.5 only.

mahal, or just get the extreme hdmi player, 2.5k lang can upscale through component too. available in some sm appliance center.
