.....pero im verydisappointed on how it performs sa cable tv, soooooobrang maulan,as in sobra. sabi ng nag install baka dahil naka digibox kame, hindi nila mai-rekta yung connection. ???

is there anything i can do? hindi kasi sya bearable panuoran ng cable tv. :(

Sir, try mo i-set yung sharpness sa 20-30.  It can smoothen out the graininess or pagka maulan nya.  Saka check mo rin yung cables mo, baka di maganda pagka crimp.  My 42PV70 has a very good display using Skycable Gold Digibox.

do you think cable booster will help? ???

Before you invest in the cable booster, try mo muna suggestions ko sa itaas na post.  Remember, garbage in is garbage out pag gumamit ka ng booster.  If still not satisfied after trying the above suggestions call Skycable, based on my experience with Sky service, pumupunta naman sila agad.  If they found out that your coax has problem, irerewire nila yan for free.  Or if your coax is ok, sisilipin ng Sky tech yung lakas ng signal na pumapasok sa box mo, pag mababa ang gain, aakyat yan sa poste to adjust the gain.

have found a way to "dramatically"improve the signal!!!!!!

changed the region to AMERICA, re-auto tune and voila! it is now comparable sa crt signal ko dati! :D  happy happy!

reading the manual before using it really does help! weird lang kasi sa AMERICA region kasama ang Philippines.

For those who havent read the manual, go to page 23. :)

salamat sa lahat ng tumulong!  really appreciate it.

now on my 15th hour..... 85hrs to go. ;)

I downloaded a divx6 file that has a resolution of 1280x720p... audio lang lumalabas sa Panny ko. Its connected via HDMI... naka 1080p setting ako sa Pioneer 600AV ko... try ko sa 720p, 1080i.. wala pa rin video.. baket kya? i know this should be supported...pero sa screen ang lumalabas na error is "this video resolution is not supported"  :( :( :( :(

I tried hooking up my laptop via PC input.... lumabas sa tv ko yung screen ng laptop ko...but when i played the video using my VLC media player sa sa computer ko.... black screen ang video  >:( >:( >:(

Can you play the file in Windows Media Player on your Laptop? Check your codecs. (installed ffdshow codecs on mine in order to play mkv files)

I hooked up my laptop with hdmi output to my panny. I played Planet Earth in mkv format using windows media player. The file is 720p resolution. No problems both in audio and video. The panny would even recognize 1080p resolution if i upscale the screen resolution on my lappy.

Try a different player with the proper codecs.

I have no problems playing the file on my laptop because i have all the needed codecs... pero once i hooked it up na sa Panny, d na lumalabas yung video ng file ...pero nakikita ko yung screen ng laptop ko sa tv...yun lang talagang video mismo.... bakit kya ganun...weird...

PM me the filename and location where you downloaded it from. I'll try to recreate it on my end.

Suggestions...
Try an update for your video card.
Try another divx file.
Try a different resolution on your display through your laptop.

Good Luck

what am i planning now is to play it via laptop, sana mapagana mo sa laptop then share your settings ha.. oo nga pala may thread tungkol dyan.. http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=74151.30

Playing a 720p mkv file on the panny is way better than any dvd movie i've seen. You'll definitely notice the difference especially if you are over the break in period and have adjusted the picture settings. Planet Earth is awesome. I will definitely buy the Blue Ray Edition pag nakabili na ako ng PS3.
Ganda rin ng Prison Break 720p. Enjoy si Misis.

its an AVI file.. i guess it will depend on the encoded bit rate ng file... yung tinest ko is only around 2200 bit rate... so its not that clear...may mga visible artifacts sa ga dark scenes.... i heard the BBC Planet earth eh  maganda raw talaga ang pag encode, very high quality.... downloading pa :)

has anyone used an infrared wireless headphone with the pv70?
1. is there heavy interference?  do you hear more interference than actual tv volume?
2. is there still sound coming out of the plasma speakers even if you plug in the headphone jack?

First of all, no plasma maker would recommend that you use infrared headphone with plasma because of possible interference.

Interference depends sa layo mo sa screen.  Kahit konti interference, nakakainis.  If you really want to use wireless headphone, get a RF (radio frequency) type.

If you plug anything on the headphone jack, the default feedback is to disable the built-in speaker.

Got the pana 42pv70 and pio DV 600AV some 3 weeks ago.  good combination!  Have been watching my widescreen dvds ever since.

But now I notice a problem in the plasma.  I see a black strip at the top edge measuring 1/2 inch thick whenever I change channels.  I also see it when watching dvds. It's visible when the background is gray or black but not noticeable when the display is bright. I don't think it's a burn-in problem since I am only seeing it at the top.

When I close the tv, i can see the black strip on the display.  The black strip disappears in the morning when cooled but after using it again for more than 2 hours, it appears again.

Is there anyone out there who has this problem?  Is this a factory defect?

If your watching a widescreen movie meron talaga yung image retention, but after a while when your watching a full screen in more than an hour nawawala yun ng kusa.

Sir, we have exactly the same plasma and dvd player pair!  What you are experiencing is a typical plasma panel behaviour, called temporary image retention, IR for short.  Normal lang yan sa plasma panel pero you can minimize its occurence, just follow these settings I'm using for the past four months:
    1.  Set to Cinema mode.
    2.  Set Contrast to 70.
    3.  Set Brightness to 65.
    4.  Set Color to 42.
    5.  Set Sharpness to 60.
    6.  Set Tint to 3 clicks going right.
    7.  Set Temperature to cool.
Leave your worries behind and simply enjoy your plasma!
