will try the blade protions tonight.

what i noticed in the top and bottom black bars, nag-iiba sya ng pagka-black but I think depends sa program material.  like in my case, the movie Troy has very black bars while in ghost rider its like a washed out black hindi talaga sya black na black.  that is with same settings.

OT:  sa mga pio 600 and pv70 combo users, anong gamit nyong HDMI color?  In my case, scenes are too dark if I use Full RGB.  Ganun ba talaga yun?

oo nagbabago yung black bars but in different titles pero sakin nagbabago in different scenes hindi constant yung pagka black nya..

regarding sa settings i also use full rgb para sa akin mas maganda eh ewan lang sa ibang users...

Did you experience this problem since the first day you got your unit? Or, did you notice this only a few days or just weeks ago?

Just a tip bro, try performing a simple power reset on your TV. Unplug it from the wall outlet or power source then plug it back in after 5 minutes and turn it back on. I work for sony USA tech support for BRAVIA models and I'm one of their product specialists. Sometimes in cases like these it could just be a glitch on the software of the tv and a simple reset just might fix the problem. It works for some of the sony owners that Ive talked to when their tvs exhibit unusual behavior or performance.

Try going to setup menu first, then access shipping condition and set it to default settings. After that, perform the power reset. If it still doesnt work, most likely something is really wrong with the tv. Software updating is usually the solution for this but in your case having the tv replaced by the dealer since the unit is still under the warranty is still the best way to go. Make sure to test it before accepting the replacement if ever. Hopefully i wouldnt encounter this problem on my panny.  :)

i noticed it already maybe 3 weeks ago, i think that the reset option is not the solution because i always unplug the unit whenever it's not in use.  last i watched kung fu hustle and i experienced it again in most of the scenes. i would really want to replace the unit.
lalo na ngayon halatang halata na even my wife can notice it without me saying that "oh here it is again". anyway thanks for the advise an i hope you won't experience it.

Hi, I have just passed my 100th hour burn-in last friday. I notice that after watching movies
in 2.35:1 or above format, i notice image retention from the black bars of the widescreen movie.
it is just soft and goes away after sometime. My question is this, will this ever go away or will we owners
of plasma have to live with it. What will happen if I watch 3 or more movies continiuosly in 2.35:1 or above
format. will the image retention from the black bars be more severe? I just wondering about the
purpose of burn-in test if this problem will not be totally eliminated. Thanks.

pv70 and dv600 users what is your hdmi color settings during calibration is it FULL RGB or RGB lang kasi sakin during calibration it is set to rgb then when i try to switch it to full rgb i find it much better even though nacalibrate sya set to rgb. sa tingin nyo accurate pa kaya yun?

OT Question (Sorry):

dv-600 users ask ko lang bakit kaya ang audio nakasulat pag negsekect ka ng audio is always 2.1 even though the track is 5.1 at ang nilalabas nya naman sa reciever is 5.1 nagtataka lang ako dahil lahat ng pinapanood ko lagi na lang 2.1 ang nakadisplay either dts or dolby ang speaker settings ko naman sa player is 5.1. bakit kaya?

THANKS!

Hindi ba 3/2.1 ang nakalagay? (Hindi DV-600 ang Pioneer ko e)

Pioneer's 3/2.1 means 5.1 ---- 3 front channels, 2 rear channels, and .1 LFE (Low Frequency Effects).

Nagtataka rin ako kung bakit ganyan sa Pioneer, kasi hindi iyan ang standard notation for multichannel sound.

Where is your HTIB connected now? Some receivers already HDMI capable.  You can hook up your tv to your player via HDMI and your player to your receiver via usual connections, if this is what you were asking ;D

Try Pioneer DV-600 pre, mas ok 'to (based on the reviews ng mga Pdvd members) compared dun sa philips na nakita mo, halos di naman nagkakalayo ang price nila :)

Hello Anchit!

Sorry but I think I misunderstood your question.  I think we are veering off the thread here, but what I think you are looking for is a dvd player with a built in receiver.  If so, I do not think a Pioneer dv600 will solve your challenge.  What you want to look for, if you want to use your HTIB setup is a player where you can directly insert your speaker wires on the back panel.  Yes there are some available.  I think the Toshiba player in Shopwise is similar to the product you are looking for.

Good luck on your search! ;D

anchit,

Same problem tayo before...I had the same set up. Pio DV600 and a Samsung HTiB.
Hindi mo pwede i-derecho ang Pio DV600 papunta sa HTiB mo.
So ang gagawin mo diyan...para magamit mo yung 5.1 speakers ng HTiB mo...is this:

Pio DV600 --> Display's In - must be via HDMI para magamit mo ang upscale option
Display's Audio Out  --> HTiB Audio In - RCA cables will do.

So when watching a DVD you have to set you HTiB sa Aux mode to be able to output adn audio sa 5.1 speakers ng HTiB.

Real bang-for-the-buck kasi, 'ganda at 'mura ng unit na ito!  I have no regrets kahit mas mahal ng 10K ang pagkabili ko nito as compared to its price now, ganun talaga pag early adopter, napapamahal ang bili hehehe!!!   ;D ;D

Hi guys.  How do you improve skycable reception in our plasma tv? Would a signal booster help?  Unfortunately, digi box is not yet available in our area

Hi guys.  How do you improve skycable reception in our plasma tv? Would a signal booster help?  Unfortunately, digi box is not yet available in our area

First of all, yung analog signal ng Sky is malinaw na talaga to start with.  Lumalabo lang or nag iisnowy lang yan pag:

1.  Hindi maayos termination ng connector ng coax mo from the poste to your TV.  Baka di mahigpit pagka crimp or luma na at may corrotion.
2.  Mababa ang gain sa distribution panel (not sure the term) sa poste.
3.  Pag madami ng illegal connection na nakikisakay sa linya mo (assuming na legit ang line mo at ikaw ang tintapan ng illegal).

For num 1, usually you can remedy it by checking/replacing/recrimping your coax.  Mas mabilis kasi pag ikaw na mismo gagawa kesa wait ka sa service ng Sky.  For num 2 and num 3, Sky lang ang pwede umayos.  If the signal is found weak, iaadjust nila ang gain sa poste.  Kung madaming illegal connection, magsasama sila ng pulis to do clean up and dismantling of illegal connections.  If illegal connection is persistent in your area, Sky will rewire your area and require you to use their Digibox.
