after break in period ok na sya panooran kahit may static images or black bars pero hindi maiiwasan yung image retention mabilis lang naman wala less than a minute wala na IR then after calibration mas magiging maganda pa PQ nya WOW talaga... almost HD quality na even SDVD lang play mo...

Thank you for that...

At least, I have an idea of what to expect after my break in...

Regards guys,...

Salamat...

Based on my actual experience, yung Pana 42" ko last December pa pero di tumaas ang electric bill ko, in fact, medyo bumaba pa nga ng several hundreds!   :)  Kasi, mali yung impression natin na ang plasma ay malakas sa kuryente.  In reality, matipid sya kasi yung rating nya na 350++ watts ay kapag ang display ng plasma ay pure white image.  Ang plasma kasi kumakain lang ng kuryente pag lighted or naka ilaw yung individual pixel nya.  So in movie scenes, di naman lahat white ang image which means not all pixels are lighted kaya di umaabot ng full wattage yung consumption.  In real life, nag-aaverage lang ang plasma natin ng 120-150 watts.

same here, no significant changes sa electricity bill, and if there were any, it's my aircon's fault kasi sobrang init na ngayon. ;)

Thanks for all the feedback guys..!
I appreciate it...

Wala sigurong tatalo sa init ng panahon dito sa Cabanatuan, both Tuguegarao and Cabanatuan ang parating nasa HIGHs ang temperature eh. So most likely the electric bill will definitely rise due to the consumption of the airconditioner.

Based on my digital watt meter reading, the Panasonic 42Pv70 consumes an average of 200-250w on normal TV viewing (meaning a constant mix of bright and dark scenes).

Yes, I'm also curious about this. Can the 50PV70 owners please post their observations?

My last electric bill was the first full month of having the 50PV70 at home (btw, thanks Jeff and TW staff!), Not surprisingly, my consumption went up about 50%.

When I looked back, at the beginning of the billing cycle, the TV was still in its break-in period. Then, as soon as the break in period was over, the excitement of having a bigger screen (this replaced a 14 year old Sony 32 CRT), gave us the incentive to watch more DVD's. Add that to rising temperatures, the 50% jump was justified. I expect my bill to get back to normal on the next cycle.

What is pixel wobbling?

Pixel wobbling is a feature of the Panasonic plasma in which the pixels shift beyond the naked eye, it is a feature of the Panasonic that helps AVOID Image retention and burn-in, it is the same feature of Samsung, though its called Pixel shifting sa kanila.

So, I still don't know if the 42PV70 nor the 50PV70 has this feature...

Everybody seems to be goin for plasma tvs since the price is quite affordable compared to lcds on the 40" up sizes, But compared to full hd lcds ( SONY BRAVIA X SERIES) the plasma lacks to show details when the source are in full HD  but it looks better compared to lcds if the source is in dvds. Experts may not agree w/ me but i conclude this based on my personal opinion and thru thorough observations.

Sir, is your digital watt meter rated at 50Hz?  If yes, the reading you are getting is higher than the actual watt consumption.  I asked this because most of the watt meters I see in stores here are rated at 50Hz because they are imported.

the 50" plasmas consumes 500watts where as the 52" lcds consumes only 350watts. So if i watch a full length movie, the equivalent is 1kilowatt just the same as the 1 hp aircon. Matakaw tlga sa kuryente ang plasma tvs and its also not adviceable on high rise condos may altitude problem yan ksi nga gas.

The 500watt consumption is the peak power consumption. It is not constant and depends on the scene of the movie. It can go as low as less than 200w. The 350w consumption of LCD TVs is constant, so during the time the LCD TV is ON, it is consuming 350w every second.

Yes sir, my device is rated at 50hz. But actually, I don't think it really matters, since 50Hz vs. 60Hz doesn't really affect the wattage readings IMHO. I'm basing this on experience, having tested several appliances that are 50Hz and 60Hz.

Actually, the Panasonic 42PV70 can dip as low as 130-150w during very dark scenes, and so far mine peaked at 330w during a very bright display (almost all white). But in average nga, it consumes about 200+ watts, very impressive for a TV this big.

and yet...another one bites the dust!!!

I got mine just through text negotiations with Sir Vic.

never left my office seat.

1.  Text Vic for his best price.
2.  YM'd my friend for him to canvass better prices and he gave me a great figure.
3.  I asked Vic if he can match and he did.
4.  I deposited my payment in his account.
5.  They delivered after I set things up properly in my room, with Sigma entertainment center, Mediagate player, my yammy AVR, B&W fronts and Mission rears and Velo subs, all courtesy of inputs from this site as well.

Could it be pinoydvd is dictating all my HT purchases?! Definitely.

Also got my 42pv70 from Vic/E-Reply just this weekend lang.  Transaction was very smooth from my inquiries with his staff (very attentive) all the way to the delivery and installation.  In fact, they were very punctual based on their commited delivery time (my experience kasi for any delivery, they are always 2-3hours delayed)

Question lang pala:  which should i get first - a voltage regulator or a line conditioner?  I've already consulted the other thread on this, but it will be best to get first hand experience from owners of 42pv70.
