and yet...another one bites the dust!!!

I got mine just through text negotiations with Sir Vic.

never left my office seat.

1.  Text Vic for his best price.
2.  YM'd my friend for him to canvass better prices and he gave me a great figure.
3.  I asked Vic if he can match and he did.
4.  I deposited my payment in his account.
5.  They delivered after I set things up properly in my room, with Sigma entertainment center, Mediagate player, my yammy AVR, B&W fronts and Mission rears and Velo subs, all courtesy of inputs from this site as well.

Could it be pinoydvd is dictating all my HT purchases?! Definitely.

Also got my 42pv70 from Vic/E-Reply just this weekend lang.  Transaction was very smooth from my inquiries with his staff (very attentive) all the way to the delivery and installation.  In fact, they were very punctual based on their commited delivery time (my experience kasi for any delivery, they are always 2-3hours delayed)

Question lang pala:  which should i get first - a voltage regulator or a line conditioner?  I've already consulted the other thread on this, but it will be best to get first hand experience from owners of 42pv70.

Do get a nice AVR first, it protects the unit from sudden changes/fluctuation of electricity...

Done with my 105 hours of break in the other day,
I started to watch DVDs in 16:9, with my choice of video settings,
and after watching Casino Royale for over 2 hours, I did not notice any IR
on the top nor in the bottom of my 42PV70, the color was truly crisp and sharp...
I was truly mesmerized by the picture quality of the plasma, I would not hesitate
to recommend this unit to my friends,... it was truly worth the wait and true value for money.

Definitely a GREAT unit...!

im on the 40th hour of my 50pv70 and watching dvds in zoom1 mode. the pic quality is really sharp even all settings below 50, almost blue ray sya. watched downloaded divx (700 mb) files, the video quality is still crisp after upscalling using the faroudja of a denon amp. glad i had bought this one instead of an lcd, it meets my needs which is good pic quality.

how do you guys count the hours of usage? wala ako makitang timer e. manual count lang?

I kept a list,...

From the time I start to watch a movie or broadcast, I keep tabs on every hour,...
What I did para mapabilis ang pagbreak in ko, before I go to sleep, I select a channel na sure ako na 24 hours ang signal, naka zoom 2 or 3 para walang logo whatsoever, low contrast, low color, low brightness, i kept it under 40 lahat,... naka-aircon naman ang kwarto kaya ok lang, and besides I keep a small fan beside my system to keep everything a bit cool... It took me about 3 weeks bago ko naubos ang 105-110 hours,...

To be honest with you, preventive measure lang talaga ang break in,.. most (not all) of the latest plasma models are now equipped with the so-called pixel wobbler or pixel shifter (samsung) that prevents burn-ins,  I read a couple of posts here in this thread na may mga users ng 50pv70 na hindi na nila ibinreak in ang mga unit nila, and up to now, it performs very well still. So, medyo nag-iingat lang din tayo, what is a couple of hundred hours of watching a dull colored movie, compare to a long time usage na wala tayong pagsisisihan in the end...

I love this unit, the picture quality is simply awesome...

If I'm gonna get another unit, I'd surely get another Panasonic Plasma...

Good luck and happy breaking in..!

regards,
ABC
