Hi! I bought a Sammy 40B530 LCD TV and the packaged HTZ-220 HTIB last January 2010.
The LCD TV is still doing fine, but the I'm afraid the HTIB is not. I'm having a myriad of problems right now. First the tray door won''t open, so I cant load CDs or DVD's. Then it wont output sound from any source whatsoever (PS3 and Radio. Can't check if there is audio from DVD since I cant load a disc in the first place). Am so exasperated right now. It wasn't like this until today.
What are my options? Should I bring it back to your store for servicing or should I call Samsung Philippines? Please advise asap, since playing PS3 games or watching Blu-Ray movies without surround sound is pretty much pointless.
Thanks!
N.B. - Also sent you a PM...
EDIT: After tinkering with my set-up for about an hour, I've finally pinpointed the problem. It seems to be the LCD TV. If I disconnect the HDMI cable connection from the HTIB, then everything checks out fine. Sound is output via optical cable, the radio plays and the disc tray opens. But if turn on the HTIB with the HDMI cable connected, then nothing works. The disc tray door doesn't open, and no sound can be heard from the tuner or PS3. Hardware conflict?
So if I want to play a DVD, I have to make sure the HDMI cable is disconnected first when i turn it on, and when it does play, I have to reconnect if to the LCD TV. It's such a hassle.
I'm thinking of just using component cables to connect the HTIB to the LCD TV. Besides, I'm not impressed with the HTIB's upscaling capabilities. But it negates the purpose of having 3 HDMI inputs, when you can only use 1 at a time.
