40D5000 is an full array LED TV. The advantage is that these sets can do "local dimming". Another is the 120hz as against 37D5000 100hz clear motion rate CMR. The higher CMR virtually eliminates motion blur.

saka i also want to ask if meron pang stock or dipa discontinued yung Samsung PS43D490 3D Plasma TV? if wala kasi ako makukuha na may allshare I think it's the best alternative.

Or its native refresh rate is 60hz, wherein it just flashes the individual pixels faster so the images appear smoother and look 120hz?

Also I've seen Samsung plasma PS43E490, it looks good as well which is my 2nd option.

What would you recommend, plasma or LED?

I will use it 75% movies and 25% gaming.

Though plasma 42E490 offers better cinematic experience, it still is not a good panel for gaming because of image retention issue. I would suggest you opt for 40EH5000 for all-round viewing purpose.
