I am completely fine with my 5 year old HTIB for my small room size, ewan ko ba kung bakit ako bumili ng Aventage A800 pero since parating na siya, wanna do it right, so :
lam ko kung bakit
! Panay istambay ka siguro dito sa pdvd - at marami ka narinig na yada yada at yada pa!
on break-in:
150 hrs - 200 hrs break-in - does this mean I have to temper on the material i play or the volume level i send to the speakers? anong do's and don'ts.
This is the usual sales pitch for speakers not sounding good the first time - so you break-in your speaker so that it will be out of warranty by the time you complained it does not really sound good. Otherwise, you have broken in your ears - and adjusted your brain to accommodate the speaker sound and learn to live with it!
on amp - speaker matching:
tama ba pag pasok sa OHM at watt ng amp si speaker safe na:
i..e speaker.ohm = 8 ohm and speaker.watt = 135 watt, kaya na i drive ng amp safely na < 95 watt,
coz my thinking if amp watt < speaker watt then safe
if speaker.ohm = 8 ohm then amp can drive it, ganun ba yun?
Basta amplifier of decent wants (even tube amp na 1 watt lang) can drive any speaker. Loudness will be dictated basically by speaker's sensitivity - then followed by amp power.
For safety and precaution, if amp restricts you to 8-ohm, then use 8-ohm. If your amp is rated at 4ohm, you can use 8-ohm speaker, but this will translate into your amp giving just half its rated power.
Some amplifier, like yamaha AVR, though at 8-ohm setting can accept 4-ohm speaker (this is translated more dynamics) if you do not switch it to accept 4-ohm speaker. This is in fact a recommendation even coming from audiophiles.com audiophile specialist.
If you are just listening at home typical listening (not disturbing your neighbor per TonyT), <95 watts (even 1 watt, if your speaker is has high sensitivity), is okay to feed on the 135W speaker.
Lastly, if you have the crank to play loud and overdrive speakers / amplifiers, the rule of the thumb is "low power amp is more dangerous than high powered amp!". This is because "clipping" occurs early in low powered amps. Clipping can burn your speakers!
Since invest ako next year for proper speakers, appreciate guide. pero one thing is sure - I go Aaudio unless there's RFS=upgrade deals that fits the same budget.
For now, I care little about brand, and from AAUdio following and the finish are just as eye catching, I do think AAudio will perform just as the others.
Right. AAudio is right on budget for a good speaker.
