Sir, I'm planning to buy this speaker specially the genesis,is this speaker a good pair with Onkyo avr? Currently I have Onkyo 818, what's the SQ warm or bright? I'll be using it 50/50 for movies/music.Any input?

1) Onkyo - genesis was designed for the Onkyo since the receiver at the showroom is Onkyo
2) Yamaha - just right because of Yamaha's Natural Sound
3) Marantz/Denon - too bright, as in painfully bright on music. The good thing is it can be tweaked for FREE upon request.

i find this unbelievable, considering these two receivers are know to be warm sounding.  tapos para sa onkyo designed ang genesis, which means warm sounding din ang genesis (to balance the brightness of onkyo).  OR did you mean warm/dark ang kinabasan ng marantz/denon and genesis combi? 
also raptor uses 1909 (IIRC) for his genesis, wala naman reklamo.

1) I dont think a speaker will be designed with a particular amplifier or AVR in mind. Those speakers were designed with a particular frequency range in mind - using the available materials he had, his crossover design knowledge, cabinet or enclosure design knowledge while thinking of pricing it smartly as well.

2) If youre comparing it against an integrated amplifier for music (2 ch), more so against a tube amp, then youre setting yourself up for dissapointment.

I have a Denon (2113) AVR hooked to Anthony's speakers and sound wonderfull for movies and gaming, but horrible for music as far as im concerned.

For music, I prefer using a different setup.

yup, with my Denon 1909, my Genesis FS sounds way better than my previous Dali Concept 6 FS for music ... and there's Audyssey to compensate for matching the speakers

That's weird, I have been using the Genesis bookshelf and  center with my Denon 1612 and I don't find it bright.  Using it both for Audio and HT.   I have an A-Audio Dipole as my surrounds as well.

    After reading the last few posts do you guys think the Genesis center paired maybe with genesis bookshelves or saul will be a match for our Marantz sr5007? Had the sr4500 before, both recievers are far from being too bright and the old sr4500 bordered on being too laid back sounding with our aurum 5000s.
    I just want affordable speakers with a more attacking  exciting sound.
Though the aurum cantus f5000r  sounded better with our Rotel ra-01 attached to the sr4500, I just want to simplify our set up and i feel the sr5007 sounds more detailed than the rotel but a bit more laid back and smooth.

last Jan 16, my son and i auditioned Genesis FS in AAI with new wave music, litaw yung pagka-bright. sabi ng anak ko, masakit sa tenga. (good news is that the speakers can be tweaked per sir Anthony.) for slow vocal music what we auditioned were the omega and saul and both sang beautifully.

Ive had both an Onkyo and a Denon for HT, and never really liked either for music. For me, I still prefer the "magic" of tubes for 2 ch, but that's me. Although my tube amp is connected to one of Anthony's creations din naman.

As for Marantz, cant really say if ok sia for music..... Never had one.

 Bought a pair of Omega last March 18 with my wife, I really like the sound quality of it. I auditioned it in the showroom driven by an Onkyo receiver connected to my Ipod playing mp3 files at 320kpbs since mostly mp3 files gamit namin sa bahay. Now I enjoy listening to it driven by my Onkyo 818, the highs are smooth at di masakit sa tenga and the bass is great! Di na kailangan ng sub when playing music alone, even with heavy bass music, really a bargain for the price nya! Initially I planned to get the Genesis but when I heard the Omega di na ako nagdalawang isip pa lalo na't half the price pa rin sya  So grab nyo na kasi few pairs remaining na lang daw, as what Anthony Audio said Pinoy High-End Hi-Fi at a Lo-Price. BTW glad to be buying pinoy product that could compete with branded ones.

Ayos na ayos Steve considering na mp3 files lang gamit ko, tsaka kahit heavy bass music di na sya kailangan ng sub hataw na rin yng bass nya, kaya tipid ako sa kuryente dati rati kasi naka-on pa yng sub ko. Tinanong ko ang staff nila sa showroom kokonti na lng yng natitira nilang omega, kaya yn na kinuha ko. Ok din naman ang genesis e kaya lang mas maganda talaga ang quality ng omega, sa movies mas ok yng genesis kaysa sa  omega. Ang laki ng sub nila don sa showroom tsaka ramdam mo yng bass nong tinesting malakas sya pero di muddy kumbaga, ramdam mo yng shake sa sofa akala ko nga meron silang nakainstall na bass shaker yng nilalagay sa ilalim ng upuan to feel the LFE effects sa mga movies  e wala pala,parang type ko rin yng sub nila he!he!he! Hayaan mo kukunan ko ng video at pakikita ko sa yo pagbalik ko dyan.

out of curiosity bukod sa na miss ko na ang tunog ng Genesis BS v.1, tinanggal ko sa surround at ipinares ko sa BabyG using ipod shuffle (only) -- susme!

konting-konti ang lamang ng mas malaking imported BS. depende pa sa type mo at baka mas pipiliin mo pa ang Genesis.

curious tuloy ako kung alin ang mas maganda tumunog, ang Saul o Genesis v.1?
