Had the chance to audition the JACOB this afternoon.
For a small speaker it sounds very large. Ideal for those desire a large sound stage but with limited space for a full sized FS
And the price is incredible!

Waiting for the FS version...

For clarification as it is not very evident in the image posted:

Front: Tweeter and Woofer

Rear: Another set of tweeter and Woofer

note: Finish is for proto-type only. Final product will have a different finish.

hindi ba parang sayang o mag create ng unwanted sound yung set of tweet & woof sa likod unless may suggested distance from the wall? o baka naman pang left & right talaga at nasa front o back ang passive sub? sorry po at medyo nalito lang ako...

Mukha ngang kelangan bigyan ng space sa likod para mamaximize yung magagawa ng drivers sa likod..

If near the wall more bass, farther from the wall less Bass.
The effect of rear speakers is that the sound stage becomes very wide despite the small speakers.
The technology was patented by Anthony.

Perfect as a Computer Speaker or a 2-speaker HT set-up for the bedroom.

Mas bagay to as surround speakers, kasi for me nakakalito kapag gawin mo tong fronts.

May lumalabas pa na sound sa likod so not very direct ang L and R channels mo, making the whole 5.1/7.1 experience nil.

It's a very expensive brand. One of our congressman from the other site ang distributor. I only heard it once pero mabilis lang as I was passing by so I'm really NOT in a position to comment. I think it was paired with Lamm amplifiers.

Tukayo, I would agree. I heard it and it is worth the audition.
Anthony provides free audition and I think it will surprise a lot of skeptics.

I have encountered several Hi-Fi speakers with drivers at the back of the box and they had a wider and deeper soundstage than a regular designed speaker. The JACOB reminds me of my recent encounter with the Definitive Technology BP8D.

Actually bro it is the technology behind the design that is patented, so that the patent itself is applicable to multiple product lines of the patent holder. Some of the pioneering names that designed and patented loudspeaker designs is the late Amar Bose of Bose Corporation and Mr. Polk Jr. of Polk Audio. Patent designs with speakers not in the front baffle have existed since the 70's pa, actually si Amar Bose diyan nakilala sa manipulation ng acoustic sound (as in the 901 series) and si Polk naman nakilala sa paggamit ng passive radiators.

One of the latest and I'm sure is interesting for you is the case between Polk Audio's SURROUNDBAR and Golden Ear's SuperCinema3D where Polk Audio sued Golden Ear for Patent 053. It's a nice read if you have time.
