The digibox would be a pain in the butt for those of us who own DV-Recorders. By forcing us to choose one station to fix the broadcast signal to, it would make recording different channels while you're away on holiday impossible. And don't even try explaining your predicament of recording multiple channels to the people who'll install your digibox. Believe me, when they tried to install a simple analog cable box on my system (for season one of
Big Brother), I had to teach THEM what to do. Also, the digibox will make watching one program while recording another impossible. That defeats the purpose of owning a DV-R.
So unless Sky comes up with a solution to this... then YES, I'd much rather be stuck in the analog age for a while longer. After all, how much TRUE digital programming is already available in the country, anyway? As far as I know,
wala pa. And besides, the Philippines isn't scheduled to completely turn off analog transmissions until December 31,
2015. Screw Sky's digibox for now. I want to be able to record ESPN while taping Solar Sports. That's why I bought a DVD-R in the first place.
And since I'm also a Destiny subscriber, I still get my Solar Sports and BTV one and a half hours from now... and can record one while watching the other...
Off to party...
