Samsung will change my DLP to LCD
« on: Sep 16, 2007 at 03:49 PM »
just recently my samsung L6 42"DLP encountered channel changing without stopping (it just change and change channels)

report to samsung service center quick response
ordered suspected damage parts after few days they replace the damage parts...all went fine but only for half day because the problem reoccur

report again they tried fixing it but they cant, so I decided to complain, I made a letter stating that Im no longer interested in repairing my unit but demand a new DLP 42" or upgrade it to LCD with the same or higher amount (I will pay extra if higher)

Samsung called me up yesterday and said they approved my request to change my DLP to LCD
So Im very happy with Samsung Brand :)

anyway guys ano ba reccomend nyong Samsung LCD

they have old model la-40r71bx (but new stock) 40"LCD 5000:1 contrast, 1HDMI (no extra cost)
or the newer model la40s81b 40"LCD 7000:1 contrast 720p, 2HDMI(pay extra 20k)

1080p LCD is out because its too expensive for me

worth ba to spend 20k for an extra HDMI and 2000 (additional) contrast?
merom ba dito sa forum na meron problem with his/her R71?
much durable ba yung S81 compare to R71?

thanks for the help

Unless you really want the HDMI feature and 720p capability (note, still not 1080p), then get the latter.
Otherwise, I'd just get the free upgrade TV. ;D

Congratulations and welcome to the club!  They are also in the process of replacing my 3-year broken 50-inch DLP with an LA-46S81B (I added 37K) this week.  The unit comes with the free wall mount, free install and 15 months warranty.  I jokingly asked the customer service rep if I would be getting the 19-inch LCD as well, and she said i could for an additional 15k, so my brother will be getting the 19-incher :)

Great customer service!!!!

wow very impressive customer service indeed  ;) after using your 50" DLP they will replace it with a 46" LCD for 37k great!

I was suppose to buy a Samsung 40" LCD originally before I decided to get a Plasma instead. What turned me off was the sales person from one of the appliance store was asking money from me kasi daw napababa niya yung price nung LCD I was planning to buy  ???

May pagka-lemon kasi ang unit ko.  It had several problems over three years.  First the color wheel gave out and was replaced.  Then the light engine gave out and was replaced.  Both instances happened during warranty.  The most recent problem was again the light engine and by this time the warranty was over. However, I called up Samsung and was planning to demand a free repair because the new light engine gave out before a year was over.  I was surprised when 3 days later they told me they'd replace my DLP with a 40-inch S8 LCD for free.  I took advantage of the offer to upgrade to the 46-inch S81 model for 37K.

sir funky monkey sorry to hear that...

yep Im also surprise that they approved my demand, kahit sony also encountered na ikaw pa sinisi pero that was long time ago...Samsung is the best, hope other company will also follow the footstep of samsung great customer service...

I was thinking to extend the extended warranty, from 15months to 3yrs and 3months paying 11,490pesos hope I make a good decision kasi masakit na yung labor at parts if masira out of warranty, labor palang for this aabot na 2k parts mo pa....

Glad to know it has already arrived. how long did it take yours to get delivered?
When they pulled out your DLP, did they take the stand as well?

Enjoy your new toy!

by the way becareful when buying your new unit because yesterday they gave me the (suspected) displayed unit because the box had a several packing tape on it and when ask the SA, he said new daw yung unit, pero nakita ko meron scratch yung stand nya at mdyo madumi sa likod at yung sealed remote control at manual naka open na.

so I demand another new unit. yung dumating unit after 15min is very makintab at malinis, yun yung BAGO sabi ko sa SA...You cannot trust appliance center dito tsk tsk tsk....

Kawawa lng yung bumibili na walang alam sa manlolokong Appliance center....

Ah, so you picked up the unit sa appliance center instead of having it delivered?
saang appliance center ito? I suspect the same thing happened to me when i got my DLP from Abensons.

The Koreans are really determined to have the best service in their products to compete with the major players and to prove the durability and longevity of their manufactured goods.  Even Hyundai have upgraded the warranty of their cars to 5 years.

thanks sir
unfortunately they still cant provide me a good deal
my slimfit has a manufacturing defect which up to now they wont admit to in spite of the sheer volume of returned slimfit units they got for the past year.

when a replacement was impossible because of this design flaw they were asking me to upgrade to na lang to an LCD tv but at a price waaay higher than the SRP of what boss nemesis and other tv dealers are offering. worse, im getting the roundabout during follow thrus.

hopefully someone here from samsung can help me out.
if wala pa ring mangyari this week il be demanding for a full refund and just get another brand.
