Sayang. If only they would indicate "DVD9" on the packaging, I'm sure sales of these Budget versions would significantly improve.

At 299 and 350, consider it a game of chance.  ;D Or a gamble.   You either get a DVD5 you expected, or get a pleasant surprise/win if it's a DVD9.  In my case with the Silverado disc, I got a DVD9 and a DTS track besides.    ;D  Ofcourse, you won't win all the time or even most of the time.  But I'm glad that so far, all the budget 299 and 350 DVDs I got lately, Silverado, Last Temptation of Christ and The Lost World, all of them are DVD9s.   ;D

Magna is gradually shifting all of its budget catalog to DVD9 based on their last update. I've asked for the latest list so you can distinguish easily between the single and dual layer releases. Alternatively, PinoyDVD.biz has confirmed that they will start selling the budget DVD9 titles but not the DVD5s.

List of Current Magna Budget DVD9s @ P299-P350
« Reply #33 on: May 03, 2007 at 09:16 AM »
Hi guys,

I think that this list will be very helpful to anyone who's planning to buy Magna Budget DVD9s priced P299-P350 as he/she won't have to read many threads. From what I've gathered so far:

 - The Last Temptation of Christ
 - Jesus Christ Superstar
 - Silverado
 - The Lost World
 - Some (or all?) Hallmark titles

Magnavision is also tinkering with their pricing schemes:

No more 3-for-600.  Those titles (most older locally manufactured DVD5 or DVD9s) are now 199.

Those titles that are 2-for-250 (ie Kingkong 1976, The Graduate, Elephant Man, Emmanuel, etc) are now 100 each.
