hmmm... in my opinion, for a center what you need most is good midband, so midbass speakers should be used. pa audition mo nalang friend mo ng mga center sa dai-ichi!

i wont recommend it. tama c vapo_chill... most of the signals that the center will process are the middle part of the audio spectrum: mid-bass... if you use subs, baka ngongo ung dialogue.... sayang naman....if u really need to use the sub, pair it with a good mid-high drivers but you need to do a little tweaking sa xover to attenuate certain freq range...

actually 4" can not be considered subwoofer... ::) the min. atleast 8" for sub.. have you check the freq. response of the woofer where it falls?  ;D

May 4" woofer yata, pero nagaact din siya as mids.

Alam ko 6" is the minimum, yun kasi yung size ng drivers sa computer speaker subs e.

4" or 6" for multi-media or computer subs is very common but for Music/HT applications is not worth it, instead you will hear the mid-frequencies.... ;D

if 4 inchers are not considered subwoofers, perhaps then it is good to use for a DIY center speaker...

ideally dapat yung center speaker can produce the entire audio frequency. although most of the time nga eh yung mga dialogue (mid-range) yung na ka direct sa kanya pero minsan meron ding mga effects na binabato sa center which is beyond sa mid-range frequency. so dapat kaya ding reproduce ng center speaker ito faithfully. so talaga dapat capable ang center to reproduce the full range frequency.

pinaka maganda dapat tingnan mo yung specs, frequency response nga nung driver na gagamitin mo.kasi kahit tama yung pagkakadesign mo ng crossover, able to pass yung mid frequency kung yung naman frequency response ng driver mo eh below dun sa range ng mid frequency for example 200 hz pababa lang frequncy response ng driver d rin nya marereproduce ng maayos yung mga dialogues which is in the range 300hz-3000hz. pero kung yung driver mo design to a frequency response na 20hz-20khz eh pedeng pede gamitin.

for diy center speaker i used 2 6" woofers and tweeter.

ive also read that midbass is recommended kasi vocals ung dba. try mu ung mids ng crystal sa daiichi mega sounds great. mga 600 ata. dunno the current srp tho.

ive seen a 4" sub ung 4.1 channel na system ung galing china. way back 2002. it thumps good.
