What's your Flat Panel Display ?
« on: Jan 05, 2008 at 01:52 PM »
What's your flat panel display and what are the primary reason why choose it among numerous brands and models ?
-----

Display: SHARP LC-37BX5M 37"

Reason for buying it:
I'm looking for a cheap 32" to 42" good picture quality flat panel display with HDMI input and with the lowest power consumption as possible because my kids and I are going to use it for around 6-12 Hours a day. The LC-37BX5M consumption is only 171 watts, almost the same with my old 34" CRT TV.

We have Hitachi L37A01 at the power consumption of 167 watts. You won't go wrong with this tv: contrast of 10000, and the lcd panel of ips alpha, which delivers image that can be naturally viewed from all directions with a wide viewing angle and fixed color tones from any angle, as well as at any color scale.

You may wish to take a look at this Hitachi at Sights and Sounds located at 4th level Shangri-La Plaza. Other brands of LCD are also available for viewing.

Got myself the Skyworth 37L88 last May 2007.

So far, it's still working perfectly for my divX movies and cable tv viewing needs. Just this morning I used it as a PC monitor, using HDMI cables to interface it with my PC, with excellent results. I even played the highly demanding game Crysis with it, and it performed flawlessly with stunning visuals to boot.

My original review here: http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=66235.0

I also got the Samsung 940MG (with built-in TV tuner) for PC use but it's a bit pricey. I should have got something cheaper if I just waited for the last quarter of 2007.

First post  ;D
I just got myself a Panny TX32LX60 from listening in style for 32k only.
I'm using it primarly to play with my xbox 360.
Actually I was planning to get the YES 32" but for 3k more I got this one instead.

Got a Pioneer PDP 508XG. Reason? Yun lang ang kaya ng budget ko. Can't afford a full HD Pioneer pa. No regrets on the purchase though.

Hey hud, congrats on your new TV. I wonder how is the performance of a full HD LCD such as yours when watching cable TV programs? I'm considering getting a full-HD TV, this time an LCD.

Ay sir, walang cable sa lugar namin e, bundok kasi antipolo. Pero regular programs lang na nasasagap thru antenna, medyo madaming noise. Pero using HDDVD and standard dvd ok na ok. Sir Vic just recommended me to keep using it and check for any dead pixels. Once na break in they will come back after a few weeks to calibrate the color.  :)

Baka bumili na rin ako either BD player ng sony or PS3.

Good job sir frootloops! Parang Naka wall-mount lang. :) Tanong ko lang kung anong room yung sa likod? Kawawa naman ata. :)

Mine is Toshiba Regza 32a3500e bought this last December. My budget last year is 30k-50k kaya sya na binili ko. May na-save pa ko :) It also fits my needs and good pq  pa.

Samsung Sonoma 32"

- inside the bedroom: Primarily for gaming and cable TV
- it was the cheapest 32" when I bought it a year ago

Audiovox 37" (FPE 3706)

- living room: primarily for movies and gaming
- has analog and digital tuner
- i got it dirt cheap, less than 30K (display unit kasi but rarely used :) )

An old Samsung LA32R71 :( Pero still happ with its performance.
Especially after upgrading to HDMI, BR (via PS3) and Pio DV600.

Looking at getting the 42PV70 because of the good reviews and the even better package.
