Winner of three Academy Awards®, Pan’s Labyrinth will be available in a two-disc edition DVD on May 15, 2007, from New Line Home Entertainment. Directed by award-winning writer and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Blade II), the film traces the fate of an innocent child as she seeks refuge from fear, loneliness and the violence of war – in both her real and imagined existence – through an elaborate and magical fantasy world. The fully loaded, two-disc DVD will be available at a $34.99 SRP. Additionally, a single-disc DVD will also be available at a $28.98 SRP. Both editions have an April 10, 2007, order due date.
Winner of three Academy Awards® for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction and Best Makeup, Pan’s Labyrinth was nominated for a total of six awards including Best Foreign Language Film, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Score. When young Ofelia and her mother go to live with her new stepfather on a rural military outpost, she finds herself caught in a world of unimaginable cruelty. Armed with only her imagination, Ofelia discovers a mysterious labyrinth and meets a faun who sets her on a path to saving herself and her ailing mother. But soon, the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur, and before Ofelia can turn back, she finds herself at the center of ferocious battle between good and evil.
