Kaka audition ko lang ng 351A sa Mercury V1 using iPod Classic na lossless file.

unang audition ko eh DC4 then galing sa CD, impress na ako, ngayon galing na sa compress file ganda parin at Mercury V1 lng gamit ko, at naka 3.5mm jack lang. sayang wala akong inline to 3.5mm (for ipod) na dala.

konti lang yun different ng V1 (9.5k) sa DC4 (21k) using 351A pagdating sa imaging.

You may have to move up from the 351A if you're after precise imaging (or at least consider using different components for matching). It is the mid to upper frequencies that develop that focus in images of instruments. A warm-sounding system will almost always sound vague, with images that overlap with each other and are out of focus. The laid back sound of recent Tannoys may not cooperate with the 351A in bringing forth holographic imaging. Of course, if this combo fits your listening preference then that's all there is to it.

Salamat Stagea, I agree sa opinion mo. mas gusto ko nga yun 651A dahil may optical para sa iD100 at input sa Sub. kaso lang kulang sa budget.

as of now impress pa ako sa lower model, lasapin ko muna yun lower model then paakyat sa mas mataas.

You're welcome. Walang optical input yung 651A, USB lang ang digital in nya. You might be confusing the control bus and IR connectors as inputs.

You can't easily bypass the preamp section of the 550A. Buy ka ng power amp master?

master, i actually wanna experiment by using the musiland/nad as a preamp to see the difference in sonic signatures. i already tried both ca and musiland as preamp and nad as power amp. my observation was, mukhang malaking influence ang preamp sa sonic signature. bored lang kasi ako ngayong weekend

Malaki talaga impact nya, master. Kaya nga may mga naa-addict sa passive line stage lang or direct source to amp connection, and they go lengths to ensure that their components would work together in such a layout.

LSA 1 Statement ata yun Master J yung may ribbon tweets. Lagpas 100k ata yun. Mas bagay siguro yun sa tube amp with that kind of tweeter. Siguro yung lower models like LSA 1 Standard or LSA 1 Signature pwedeng bumagay sa CA.

It depends on your system matching din. When done right, it can sound very good.

sa rx2, I am by no means an expert on this subject, but sa experience ko yung 851a ay ginamit ko sa rx6 and maganda ang ibinigay na sq ng rx6, hindi masakit sa tenga sa mids, big sound, maganda ang lows and clear highs, at kahit low level ang volume dinig mo lahat ng instrument. palagay ko magkakasundo ang 651a at rx2 although di naman pwedeng gawing batayan yung impression ko dahil FS ang gamit ko at BS naman ang tinatanong mo, at the end of the day yung ears mo pa rin ang susundin mo, yung preference mo sa audition.

RX2 sounded good with a 550a. So I'd guess the results will not differ with 651a. Think of it as having a mezzo2 but with more LFE.

Try the 851C source with it and hook them up using CA XLR ICs. I've tried expensive XLR ICs on CA components, but CA's own seem to work best with their components (in my experience).

I must agree with you on this Master D (Daku) Ivan. Hehe! That's why it's always inevitable to get those CA ICs together with your CA gear.

YMMV (depending on your preference and connected components), but with XLRs I'm yet to find a better match with CA components. I've tried Kimber, Audioquest, Acoustic Zen and Nordost.

Based on Master Karl's A/B testing, it's not too shabby for the price. He's rolled these things far more than I have. Jenving/Supra is also very good, imo.

yes same source. Left channel connected sa Nad, Right channel connected sa CA. Smooth, laid back and natural yung highs ng 651A sa nad parang unnatural yung highs and forward yung vocals.
