unit too warm when wall mounted
« on: Apr 20, 2008 at 09:01 PM »
good pm,

just noticed that our pannys back side get quite hot after sometime of operation. I plan to have it wall mounted. This means that the unit will be very close to the backwall, to the point that it might not have enough air ventelation.

How do you resolve this issue? Or do you leave it as it is?

Your comments much welcomed.

I've walled mounted a 32" Samsung and have no problems of excess heat. As long you're not covering the top portion, heat should rise up without any problem. A friend of mine installed 80mm fans below his, facing upward to push the air up... this was because he framed and recessed mounted the TV.

Normal naman na  mag-init yung lcd sa likod. Just make it a point na may enough na pinaglalabasan yung init. I've seen lcd's mounted as if the tv is glued on the wall pero wala namang problema. In my case I also put a small fan on top of my lcd just to make it safe. :)

LCD TV's expel more heat from the screen, therefore its really designed for wall mounting. There is heat expelled from the back but the openings are sufficient  so as not to cause damage. Check your LCD screen while viewing, it is quite hot even at 5 inches away.

LCD's exude less heat compared to plasma TV's. If you will have trouble with ventilation try the arm mount option in reply #2 here:

It also helps you in making easier back adjustments to your flat panel.
