That's absurd.  Why produce millions of DVD copies to prove that point.  That would be costly.  If they really wanted people to go hi def...then release the movie only on BD.

Huh??? People will not switch video formats on the basis of one title alone. Let alone on the basis of this title.

hi! i just bought my copy of ironman steelbook from astro sm makati, but when i watched it yesterday morning, the movies pauses even if the counter on the player is still running (the skips starts around 66mins into the movie).  after that, it stops na. :(  naybody experienced this?

when i checked the disc, saw the halo that the others were mentioning on the earlier posts, but mine affects playback, im really so disappointed.  >:( even cleaned my dvd player lens but still the same. already called astro and they said to bring it to them so they can check. sana naman mapalitan ng copy that works. i dont want to waste my time going back and forth just for this. and to think about the price of this, its not a joke. :(

^ at 66 minutes, this tells me that the skipping starts during the layer-change.
Try playing the disc in another player.

If it does not skip then probably there's something wrong with your current player.

I used to have a DVD player kasi that would make my disc skip during the layer-change.

The premium price that you actually paid for was for the steelbook not the actual disk inside.  Just the same, hope you get this resolved.

actually it doesnt just skip sir, the screen freezes even if the counter on the dvd player is running. if you press forward or anything, it would just stop.  :(  i hope this is not a problem with my dvd player.  :(  this is the very 1st time i encountered this to any of my DVDs. usually it skips, but the movie will continue after a second or after the layer change. this is something thats really weird.  ???  i hope it could get fixed as soon as possible.  >:(

you can bring your dvd player also because it might play flawlessly in astro's player.

if we do this and bring our dvd player, would they still replace the disc though?  ???  they just might say that its a problem with my dvd player and not their disc...  >:(  this is the 1st time i encountered this problem with any of my dvds, may it be R1 or R3.  :-\  i hope i can really have this replaced with a working disc. its really disappointing since up until now, i havent watched the entire movie yet.  :(

does your 66 minute timer fall on the scene where Tony Stark crashes into his own party? He was getting a drink for Pepper and he was interrupted by the female reporter who ambushed him earlier?

I'm still waiting for a slight markdown before buying an original copy. But all BD's from Jack Sparrow seem to have a problem with that chapter. If that's the case, then the problem is the master copy and not your disc.

had my 1st disc replaced once already but its still the same problem. it still skips on the same part as the previous disc.  ???  what we did was have it replaced with the 2 disc hulk steelbook. had a P50 difference so i just added P100 so i can buy the looney tunes back in action for P150. so far its ok naman.  :D  i might just buy an R1 copy of this title.  ;D

yup sir, same chapter and scene that you mentioned. but the problem actually starts when he saw the gift from pepper and he was talking to jarvis to reconfigure the iron man suit and color is red and gold. after that scene, the screen pauses already.  ???

I'm also glad that there are no pauses in my 2003 Nextbase player. I got worried when I read about the pauses and I already bought the steelbook ed.

Mine pauses at those points other members noted. My DVD player's a Pioneer dv-266, if I'm not mistaken.

And the gelpren's copy of Iron Man Disc 1 has that halo thing on the data side. But there's no report of skipping on that one.

i think all copies of the iron man have the halo mentioned sir.  :(  but as far as i know, it doesnt affect playback nga. by the way, my player is a pio dv-366 naman, and it still has the skipping part that i mentioned from a previous post thats why i laready had it replaced. i hope the problem is not my dvd player.  ???
