Eh I got the wrong edition...the pic that you show was the one I wanted....geez I got confused with the many available editions....Recently I also made a bobo ordering the same edition twice! OMG! $:-\$

Its quite easy to do with a little care. Will do the same for my incoming Wolfman and replacement Saving Private Ryan.

don't worry, gladiator still available at amazon uk. so head on out and click add to cart!

I also do not have the guts to do what he did to the steel. I need anesthesia for the steelbook so it won't feel the pain when I use the knife...

Looks like you may want to give it a try...

It's very easy actually. I used a crew driver (the flat type) & tried poking the left steel near the corner of the spine area...surprisingly the left steel came off easily. hehe now I need to find some nice/suitable artworks. Thanks to Blu-devil's creativity!

Kick Ass german steel is now available in Amazon. Still no artwork though, but hoping it's better than UK's so I can switch my preorder

Unfortunately, yes.. from the looks of it. I only have four UK steelies so far - Minority Report, Wolfman, Avatar, and Gladiator. Avatar and Gladiator both have inside art. It appears that BSG The Plan is also blank on the inside. On the German side, I have Saving Private Ryan without inside art.

Too bad it has the same artwork, only difference is the FSK logo.

On a positive note, the FSK logo may turn out to be a sticker. The UK ratings logo is almost always printed in front, back, and spine.

Eh...now I dislike UK edition, other than the lack of inside art, its imprinted rating logo is also very very annoying...

Out of the 6 SB I have, two have no inside art: Gladiator (fra) & Minority Report (UK).

Luckily the 2012 (UK) has inside art. So it's like 50:50 chance those UK edition comes without inside art. How about France & German edition?

Sorry Ann, I just verified my Gladiator. It's the France edition pala. I'll try to avoid this. The back wordings are all in French. Looks like German edition is quite safe for the inside art. How about the back, any English wordings?

I wanted Kick Ass but guess I'll put on hold first...not because of the inside art but due to the dull black SB. $:-\$

). I added the inside art to the Gladiator (Fra):

Now I have to find some nice arts suitable for the Minority Report SB.

I have Shutter Island Blu-ray Steelbook on its way to me from Lyon, France as I write. I never saw thin the cinema due to f@cked up schedules here in Cebu, so am looking forward to this.

On a side note, after long and serious consideration I have decided NOT to get into 3D (at this time) due to a number of reasons.
Cost of basic equipment (although I will be getting a new THX Certified receiver next week, and have a soon to be 3D capable PS3)
The cost of Glasses @ 6-8K each
The general lack of software.
But basically I want to enjoy the movie experience and not be waiting for the next big "moment"
So it's a 2D projector for me either a Panasonic AE4000 or an Epson 8100/ 8500.

The German Gladiator has German wordings at the back (I think). Most German releases have German text at the back.

Anne, Here's a suggestion. Instead of printing on photo paper try adhesive vinyl. That way you can have artwork on the inside of the spine, to add a sense of vista. Also can you send me the artwork for Minority Report, I really like that shot.

^ For that image, I just used plain bond paper. I ran out of photo paper and thought I would just try it out on plain paper. It didn't turn out too bad.

I'll try to look for a professional printer near the area for printing on vinyl. Thanks for the tip!

I remember the Silver Anniv DVD steelbook release of Flash Gordon way back in 2005. It was the first steelbook I ever laid eyes on. I think it was love at first sight. LOL

Anyway, there is also a Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) SteelBook up for preorder but as of this time, details are not yet available.
