Destiny Cable subscriber here: gagawin na nilang Digi-Box this month (hindi na pwede yung splitter sa buong bahay)
- balak ko mag subscribe sa SkyCable Dual-Def 549 para masubukan muna kung talagang MAGANDA ang quality (as advertised)
- my setup : HDMI connected to 46" LCD
- TANONG: maganda ba talaga ang SD at HD quality???

HOSTAGE na yata talaga ako ng SkyCable (TV and Internet service)
yung NBA PremiumTV (SD = P200.00 or HD = P350.00) mahal :-( kasi DualDef 549 lang ako
OK na ba yung BTV as alternative?

from plan 1999 migrated to skybroadband plan 10mbps w/free cable plan 549..its been a week now w/the broadband 10mbps but still upto now my cable plan 1999 still working. i wonder why they haven't me downgraded my cable to plan 549?

SALAMAT sa mga reply nyo, ticking-timebomb na kasi ang Destiny Cable ko, up to September nalang ang analog signal then mag migrate na daw sila to Digital(DigiBox) pero walang HD :-( kaya I will subscribe nalang sa SkyCable DualDef for the same price. mukhang sulit naman ang picture Quality as per previous posts here in the forum.

I subscribed to Sky's dual def last week. 549/month plus parang 250/month for an additonal box. 800/month for 2 televisions. I also got the 3mbps ng Pldt DSL for 1,699 with landline.

1,699 + 800 is almost 2,500/month. Dapat pala nag Fiber nalang ako 3,500/month na 20mbps with TV. too late.

Pero sa fibr it is only cignal right? No sky?

yes, sa PLDT Fiber ang Tv-signal is from "Cignal" at yun yata ehh satellite-dish na kelangan install preferably sa bubong, the higher the better para walang interference.

No bro -- video streaming na to via broadband bale yung broadcast ng Cignal, pinadadaan nila sa broadband modem mo.
Nag demo sila nito sa Megamall nung last week of August. Malinaw naman yung HD pero sa tingin ko di sya kasinglinaw ng satellite broadcast ng Cignal.

BTT: Malayo ang difference ng HD tsaka SD ng Sky/Destiny. Observed this myself pero 32" 1080p lang yung TV ko. Sobrang layo talaga ng quality. Naka-Destiny kasi ako ngayon, pinalitan nila ng digibox last year pa. Tapos earlier this year naman pinalitan ulit ng HD digibox pero SD pa rin yung subscription ko sa Destiny. Natest ko lang yung HD nung July nag unlock si Sky lahat ng channels kaya natest ko. Night and Day ang difference for me. Kahit yung Aquarium HD channel na-amaze ako. Yun nga lang bye bye splitter na kaya yung extra TV nilagyan ko na lang ng TV Plus pang local channels na lang.

2) kung Night-and-Day ang Quality ng SD vs HD ay maganda yun kasi it's true as advertised.
gumagamit din ako ng HDTV-Plus (RCA brand) at maganda ang signal-quality kahit SD lang kaya mataas expectation ko sa HD.

mag Dual-Def 549 na talaga ako, then kung satisfied sa quality mag additional DigiBox ako or even upgrade my subscription - SALAMAT sa mga info sharing nyo!

i guess competition makes cable service better and competitive. Cignal has been offering free NBA TV on their HD plans.

Quick Question para sa mga SkyCable SD/HD subscribers:

1) kumusta ang kanilang "after sales" sevice? baka magaling lang sila pag installation kasi ang dami mong babayaran, pagkatapos pag meron kang prublema ang tagal ng responde???

2) madali lang ba magpa "Add-ON" ng channel/s? (as advertised tatawag ka lang) at meron bang lock-in period kung sakali gusto mong unsubscribe sa Add-ON??? pro-rated ba ang babayaran mo (kung 1/2 month lang yung Add-On 1/2 lang din ba ang singil) or round-off na ang fee for 1-Month

I can only speak for my area (Bangkal, Makati) pero malamang unti-unti na itong transition from Analog to Digital. Ito lang kasi ang solusyon sa "Kabit" as in yung buong barangay ehh isang legitimate subscriber lang tapos "Kabit"/Splitter na yung mga kapitbahay.
Naka-receive ako ng letter na nagsasabing until Sept nalang ang kanilang Analog signal dito sa area ko pero LIBRE naman daw ang installation ng DigiBox sa mga current subscribers. kaya lang syempre yung aditional TVs ko sa bedrooms ehh merong install-fee at P250 ang monthy Fee. (naka splitter lang yung additional 2-TVs ko)
kaya naisipan ko mag SkyCable Dual-Def nalang

1. Not sure if it is area-related/dependent pero sa amin (southern metro manila) good after sales/customer service. kapag may problem they try to fix it remotely (over the phone). Kung hindi kaya, usually the next day masschedule ka na nila agad. Though bihira talaga magkaproblem so this really isn't an issue. I also get their bills in the mail all the time. Unlike some other bills like Globe, PLDT which suddenly stopped coming (?).

2. Yes, para ka lang nagorder ng food over the phone. When you request for a channel, they'll place you on hold while they activate it for you. 1 month lang ang lock-in ng ala-carte channels. Although there are channels that are part of a package na di pwede ng ala-carte (ex. HBO Family, HBO Signature etc)

Sa Maybunga Pasig area nung 2013 pa sila nag convert.
Pati Mandaluyong Pioneer area digital na rin ang Destiny.

Pag naka digibox na kayo, mapapansin nyo na parang isang plan na lang ng Sky ang Destiny. Makikita yung channel list ng Sky channels program schedule makikita pero locked lang yung channel.

Nga pala yung favorite channel ko 115 DMAX tinanggal na nila sa Destiny mga June pa, kainis. Ewan ko lang sa analog kung meron pa.

More than 90 percent ng Resorts World hotel ay Destiny Analog ang gamit (except Marriott Manila in which naka Cignal HD sila).

I'm wondering kung required din sila mag-switch to Destony Digital before the end of the year...

Matagal ng wala sa Destiny(analog) ang DMax (more than a year na) not sure kung ang pinalit nila ay yung Outdoor channel?

pinag susunod-sunod niyo ba mga channels niyo according to preference? like lahat ng movies, news magkakasunod? ako kasi oo, kaso nabubura yung sequence pagkaraan ng ilang lingo, minsan nga araw lang. sabi ng tech support network update daw.

any suggestions para di mabura?
