Some thoughts after my Season 2 marathon...

- I enjoyed White Tulip more than The Time Traveller's Wife
- When Fringed turned to Glee, Joshua Jackson still can't sing
- Hope they don't go with the Heroes path with those people with abilities
- What is Olivia's ability? Is it to identify those from the other side? Does she have an ability to travel back and forth from the other side as seen on the Season 2 Episode 1? Though clearly she still can't control it yet.

I know it was back in April but I just saw Anna Torv on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. She is absolutely lovely. And that accent is HOT!

Just watched the 3rd season premiere. It looks like at least for the first half of this season, odd-numbered episodes will take place in the alternate dimension, while even-numbered episodes are set in our reality.

Notable guest stars for Season 3 will include Amy Madigan (Carnival), Andre Royo (The Wire), Kevin Weisman (Alias), Shawn Ashmore (X-Men) and twin brother Aaron Ashmore (Smallville).

The season 3 finale was filled with lots of wtf moments, culminating in the most wtf last 5 minutes ever--a fitting ending for an awesome season. Just when you think you had everything figured out and were expecting a major resolution, the writers turn everything inside-out, which is exactly why I love this show. Good thing FOX still renewed this despite not-so-good ratings (due to FOX's inept scheduling really).   8)

Onward to season 4!

Audition video for Peter Bishop, which includes some very familiar faces. ;D

This was shown during the Fringe panel at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con, right before Joshua Jackson's arrival.

Great season premiere...and the opening credits are no longer blue (over here) and no longer red (over there), but now amber-tinted.  ;D

awesome 2nd episode, if only to see Olivia and Fauxlivia working together and slowly gaining respect for one another.

watched Season 4, EP1 as well. Still as good as ever. And I think it's a nice touch that Lincoln Lee is "discovering" Walter Bishop's quirks. All of us (and the cast over "here") have gotten used to him over the past 3 seasons and we (and they) just shrug our collective shoulders at his eccentricities.

Can someone explain some things to me?

If Peter never existed, why is there a gap that connects the two worlds in the current incarnation of the show? Wasn't the gap created when Walter stole him from Walternate? Also, if Fauxlivia exchanged places with Olivia and was able to return to the alternate reality world... why is Alternate Broyles alive in the current episodes? Didn't her return kill him?

I hated the end of last season. It, for me, ruined what I felt was a perfect show. And now it's opened up all these questions I can't answer.

We still don't know the real story, as the producers will gradually reveal what really happened, but here's what I've gleaned so far:

To sum it all up: Peter's erasure from the timeline has altered both universes. First, he used the machine that was orignally intended to destroy to create a permanent bridge between the two universes instead, so they could work together and resolve their conflicts.

Second, his non-presence has changed the way the characters developed through the years, like Olivia remaining cold and distant. It's also been implied that Olivia did not go to the Over There universe to rescue him (obviously, because he didn't exist), but that she was either abducted then replaced with Fauxlivia or found hereself stuck in there. With no Peter to guide her, she didn't have the resolve to escape on her own, thus not involving Alt-Broyles, so Alt-Broyles did not die.

No Peter in the Over There universe also means that Fauxlivia is still together with her boyfriend there, and there's no baby, which also means that the soap opera-ish love triangle plotline is kaput (Thank God ;D ).

Some have theorized that as a consequence for the Observers tampering with the timelines, a third, malevolent universe has actually become more predominant, and is behind the still unknown threats that are now emerging, like the new shapeshifters...we'll see if this pans out.

the thing is, was peter really erased from the timeline or is he just stuck in some sort of limbo?

Probably in limbo.  Wasn't it established that Peter is the only one who can activate the machine? So Peter must have existed in some capacity after the machine was assembled.
