Just finished watching another disturbing episode of Apparitions. This one's especially creepy -- Father Jacob investigates the possession of a serial rapist, who talks with the voice of a young girl. The question he tries to answer is -- is it a demonic or saintly possession? I hope this series gets picked up for another run.
I've only gotten as far as the first episode with this one but have all five in my hard drive ready to be cracked this holidays. This is the anti-
Supernatural in which cheese and flash and cheekbones are replaced with creep and nuance. I particularly found the notion that demonically-possessed people could be walking around like normal people, only cockier and prone to moodswings, specially creepy. That, and the suggestion that Mother Teresa was possessed by demons before she died. Speaks to the catholic school in me. And fills the void left by Chris Carter disappearing from network TV quite sufficiently.
Also,
No Heroics.
British TV is way more nutritional than American TV.
Except, maybe, for
The Wire.
