Dune HD. or grab the C200 with BDROM to play HD + BDROM. If you are looking for analog out ports, err, cant help you there :)

On Dune HD, sabi nga imitation is the best form of flattery.

thats how I view when Egreat, for a limited time went OS2 (Dune HD) and OS2 (C200) in some of their Sigma players, dati  Syabas OS/2, now its Dune HD. Since then Egreat has stopped.
IMO fact i can show that Dune HD OS2 for its shock value, would mean its just the same hardware, and SW is really what gives the users the UI.

Torn Between

Measy X6 and Egreats R180 pro. Pa advice naman mga idol anung mas OK bilhin?

Naka sale pala yung X6 @5k only :)

Pero naaangasan ako sa dating nung may dalwang sungays :)

Just bought the X6 with 2TB HD from toys4geeks.  Delivery was very prompt and professional.  Got to enjoy the long weekend with the new toy.

This was my first media player, and I really enjoyed it.  It was very easy to setup, picture quality was very good, audio quality was very good, too.  Interface was very easy to follow.  I also love the time-seek feature where I can easily move around a movie either by putting in the "play time" I want to go to, or by using the timeline.

Haven't tried the USB 3.0, the gigabit lan, streaming over the network, nor the torrent downloading.  But from the number of movies I've already seen, it's an excellent buy!

If budget is not an issue, go PCH C200. Not bad is Egreat Sigma Series (S100/S800(w/analog output)/S900(w/analog output w/ integrated bluray drive that's region free).

I'd compare :
  • PCH A210 with S100 (you can add a stock BDROM later -- Sony BD is known to work)

  • PCH C200 vs. S800 and S900 (with Egreat having analog output flexibility for 5.1 and 7.1 channels, respectively) Measy M9 has bdrom (not sure how they even handle region locked, no analog output) but checking the pictures of the players, I'd pick S900 anyday amongst the 3, but if you are into apps, go C200, its an ok player, it can also play retail BD discs via its optional BDROM(region can be set up to 5 times naman so ok din)

Sa sobrang daming media player, nalito na ako, di ko na alam kukunin ko  ;D (2 years na ako nagbabalak kumuha  ;D).

Question lang, meron bang media player that can record digital live tv from a other digital source ex CIGNAL cable channels (Regular digital channels and most especially HD channels including PPV)?

You need a HTPC. Ripping takes lots of CPU time, no media player can rip BD/DVD.

- Low(er) power consumption. I leave it on 24x7 and functions as my NAS.
- No keyboard/mouse needed to operate. My 6 yr old can use it.
- Some media players use same processors as standalone BD players so PQ/SQ is the same.
- Significantly cheaper than HTPC

Nice comparison. Thanks TFG.

So where does PCH A300 come in or how does it compare with the others?

Thanks

A300 brings in a newer processor (20% faster) and L2 cache which is new for a media player SOC (system on a chip).

It also brings in the next generation of User Interface for PCH products using Adobe Flash menus.

Then of course there's the version 2 NMJ (Network Media Jukebox) software embedded in the firmware so one does not need to scrape for movie/tv information using a PC.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Personally, I don't need or want a C200 replacement unless it can be significantly improved. Since there has been no sighting of any media player using the Sigma 8910, even the faster chip of the A300 doesn't really offer anything new.

So, we can safely say that the A-300 is a souped up A210?

IMHO no...

Honestly does one spend that much time navigating the UI?

For me I just use the UI to get me to the YAMJ jukebox then pretty much no more need for front end UI. The jukebox does the rest.

Speaking of C200, Can A300 do what C200 does -- plug in a BDrom to play BD retail?  I'd assume it can do Bd Menu full menu for BDMV ISO.

No it can't.

All A series does not have AACS decryption license which is needed to playback retail BD.

It's the AACS encryption that's stripped from retail BD during the ripping process using AnyDVD HD.

How much is the difference in local price anyways?  Sa US price, diba $20 lang ang tinaas?

I totally dont get it why the price of the A300 is not clearly posted anywhere in this site.  Akala ko ba bawal ang walang price na mag-offer sa Marketplace?  Kapayapaan.

I'll stick to my C200 then, am resisting the temptation of getting another freebie BD player na freebie ng minamata kong plasma...   btw, is NMJ 2 out na  for C200? never upgraded my C200 recently pa

I've been planning to get an NMT for a while now and I back read a lot of the threads here... Nahilo na ata ako sa dami ng NMT's at iba iba pa ang feature.. So i hope you guys dont mind me asking this question na lang for the sake na mapadali ako..

I'm looking for an NMT na:

1. Can play most mkv hd files
2. Can decode and play DTS audio
3. Do not Cost more than 10k

i was supposed to get WD Live Hub because of the bundled HD, but i read somewhere that it does not play/decode full HD audio out.. is this true? sayang naman kung di nakakaplay ng HD AUDIO

any suggestions?
