Update:
Finally got done with correcting all the posters.
...Next step is to actually clean up duplicates on two hard disks which I should have done earlier but was too excited to get everything jukeboxed...so it became last priority.
I thought I share some info on loading times to see if your nmts perform at about the same speed.
First, to review...i have m31b with internal 1T, a 2bay enclosure (loaded with a single 1T) and a second enclosure with another 1T.
Reason for using a single 1T on 2bay enclosure temporarily: I noticed that having a 2bay enclosure loaded with two 1T hd's pose a problem with loading on my nmt. It uses up both A-1 and B-1 labels though I am only connected to one port (B-1) at the back of the nmt.
I configured my 2bay enclosure hd's to be read as two single drives (NTFS). By doing so, when attached to the nmt(port B-1), it takes a long time to load and takes me to the screen "Request cannot be processed" "Press return to return to the previous screen". Both drives eventually load after pressing "source" key on the remote and after waiting for about 3-5 mins. Not ideal at all. In addition, my nmt became unstable (would go on "hung") as I switch from hard disk to A-1 or B-1 usb drive.
I connected another single enclosure (on A-1 port at the back of the nmt) after loading the 2bay and my nmt stays hung even after pressing the "source" key on the remote several times.
My guess is that since i am already using A-1 and B-1 off of the 2bay, the B-1 port of the nmt is not recognizing the additional enclosure i just connected.
My temp solution:IMO only, I think that it will be more ideal to have single enclosures attached to the nmt. In my case, i removed one of the 1T's from the 2bay and loaded it on another single enclosure. I now have two enclosures connected to the A-1 and B-1 ports at the back of the nmt and they perform much better than my previous set-up.
The other option I could test later is to see if it will make a difference if I configure two 1T's on 2bay to be read as one single 2T drive, logically seen as A-1 or B-1, not both. This may also allow for me to connect an additional enclosure even with the 2bay cabinet hooked up to the nmt.
How my nmt performs at the moment: (with both externals off)From the time I turn the nmt on using the remote till I get the blue screen that shows the "hard disk" and "network browser"/Start screen with the movie, music , picture and data icons: 58 seconds
From the screen that shows the source drives, I turned one external ON...it took 50 seconds for the usb external to show up as source usb A-1.
It took the 2nd external about the same amount of time to load as usb B-1.
With both externals already ON (nmt off):Turned on nmt via remote..."Hd network media player loading" shows up at 11 seconds.
At 1 minute and 13 secs, blue screen 1080p network media tank shows up and also showed "usb loaded"...
At 2 minutes and 33 secs, I got the START screen for the internal hard disk (the screen with the movie, music, picture and data icons)
I pressed "source" on the remote to change source drive...it took about 30 seconds to get the screen that listed the source drive selections hard disk, A-1, B-1, and network browser.
I selected A-1 and it only took about 2 seconds to get to the START screen for A-1.
NOTE: It takes about 30 seconds for nmt to go to "source drive list" (two externals connected) from any point on the nmt.
I also opted NOT TO run the jukebox automatically...just changed the index.htm to menu.htm
Thanks to all who helped me set this up...braders jake and mrm specially.
That's it for now.
