If you want to spare yourself any regrets for purchasing an overpriced LCD purely on aesthetics... :P :P :P

Edge LED technology is flawed with uniformity issues and auto dimming which cannot be defeated due to how the technology works
Thanks for the heads up. I would like to know if the flaw in the Series 6 LED HDTV also manifests in the Series 7 LED HDTV. It could be a flaw on the Series 6 and not the Series 7.

I did an audition between a 50-inch Kuro and a 46-inch Series 6 LED HDTV and on a Xbox 360 it just didn't look vibrant enough. Also how heavy are plasmas these days? I am concerned that my marble table will break from the weight.

In a more optimistic news, HDGuru has christened the 8000 the best LCD out in the market...of course before the incoming release of Sony's 09 XBRs. :D

HDGuru
Wish Samsung would bring em in. I'm about to commit already. ;)

3,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio

Series 7 LED HDTV video review

http://g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/gadgetpr0n/67414/Samsung-LED-TV-Review.html

You really have to see LED in actual demo. The product that reveals good specifics on paper may not look good in actual.

At our showroom, we have both plasma and LED on display side-by-side. With both TVs set at factory default, the plasma reveals richer in color. The too much brightness of LED somehow washes out color to become a bit light and pale.

Also, the LED presents movie to be like digital JPEG picture. It delivers the picture as if it was taken by a home-video camera. It loses the cinema quality movie.

Another issue that you have to consider is that of viewing angle. Like LCD, the sweet spot to watch the LED is at the center. Moving your viewing position to side will already wash out the picture color and contrast.

I invite you to come and audition both TVs. Hopefully, after comparing, you may choose the right Tv that pleases your eyes. Afterall, it's your eyes that should do the right judgment to whatever picture presented.  :D

kasi parang ang lapit, instead of settling with the Samsung series 6 40" LED TV, then just add 1k for the Samsung series 7 40" LED TV...

isn't that a typo or talagang ganun siya kalapit?  :o :o

Samsung LED TV S6 & S7 walang Internet@TV!?
totoo ba yun? ang alam ko meron, kasi nakalagay din sa site ng Samsung na meron, pero may nagsabi sa akin na yung Series 6 wala pero mga Series 7 meron na...

I know na yung phrase na sa "Series 6 wala sa series 7 meron Internet Connectivity" applies to the Samsung LCD but on LED wala daw maski Series 7? sa Series 8 pa lang daw magkakaroon??

is that true?? yung friend ko kasi bumili yung Series 7 na LCD kasi daw habol nya is the Internet@tv, LED series daw sana kaso wala daw ganun yung LED na internet@tv...

can anyone confirm this? Salmat!!

The 55" LED was initially  quoted  at a 180K price (told me it was introductory) to me at the Samsung Showroom at Eastwood when I went there 3 or 4 months ago(they were still in their soft opening period) and I was surprised to learn that it jumped to >200K when I went to Greenbelt a month ago.

Anyway, I think that's the real suggested retail price of Samsung, however, they tried to sell it a a higher price, but maybe the sales were not that good, hence they reverted to their original price.

Well...good for us. ;) ;D

Lahat naman, pati LCD, binabaan ng price. That's how Samsung dominate the market. First, they introduce variety series/models TVs. Then, they kill the market with the low prices.  ;)

so, yung LED panels po ba sir eh may internet capability just like yung 46b750 na lcd? kasi sabi sakin wala daw, sa series 8 pa daw magkakaroon ng internet capability ang led. Pero if you would check naman sa site ng Samsung Philippines, meron naman sa series 7 ng LED pataas...

di ko alam tuloy kung alin ang tama... can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance!

I inquired about the samsung 55 inch led series 7 and it is priced at 180k if you are paying in cash. I think series 7 has internet capability. I just don't know the difference of series 7 and series 8. May series 9 na nga abroad eh.

Quote
Truth in advertising prevails in UK, Samsung to re-word 'LED TV' ads

Turns out it's not only us HD geeks that were irked by Samsung's ad-speak pitching LED-backlit LCDs as 'LED TVs' -- and in the UK, at least, there's been some corrective action. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has found that the terminology doesn't comply with marketing regulations and is misleading because unless you've got a set like Jerry Jones', the display isn't made of LEDs. Spot on, ASA! To be sure, Sammy's new sets do have plenty of redeeming qualities, but whatever marketing genius came up with the 'LED TV' phrase is going to have to go back to the drawing board. Now, if only we could get some of this reasoning applied to US marketing and/or rein in wacky contrast ratio figures, we'd really be onto something.
