salamat sa info oreoshake!
just got my A-110 last night, me kelangan pa ba akong baguhin sa settings? im using hdmi cable.

you can go sa settings and change audio/video settings as needed.. set the resolution of the PCH 110 nearest to the resolution of your TV.. upgrade firmware if needed.. you can go sa website ng popcornhour for the latest firmware upgrade..  ;D ;D

if your source has either dts or ac3, then you can specify sa pch 110 ang gusto mong format.  just go sa audio settings sa pch.. if dts lang laman ng movie file mo, then u cannot convert that format to ac3..

as in any other electronic gears, umiinit din naman ang PCH.. the longest I used my PCH is 8 hours lang and ok naman so far..

8 hours of watching - di ka nag-"overheat" Oreoshake?   ;D   I think I won't be able to stand watching high def for longer than 4-5 hours without feeling fatigued somewhere (eyes and head especially), or falling asleep.  Is it just me or do other members notice that high def is somehow more strenous than SD viewing?

yeah distance is a factor, and room illumination, as well as AGE, especially when the eyes are in the transition from myopia to hyperopia.   :(

problem is,

you want to watch as close as you can to the HDTV to appreciate the definition better even though HDTVs are much bigger than old gen CRTs that we grew up with

you want to dim the room for better contrast and mood

you still want to watch high def endlessly instead of resting your tired eyes and stressed out body

puwede transfer files from one HDD to another but not rename or erase the file.  unless you are connected to the PC, then possibly you can rename/erase, transfer files from and to your PC..

sir oreoshake, you mean if i plug my Ext HDD (MyBook), i can transfer my files from the HDD of the PCH to my USB powered MyBook? hehe bago lang din ako sa PCH eh  ;D

also, have you tried transfering files to and from your PC and PCH using wired network connection? parang ang bagal kasi hehe sakin usually around 5-6Mbps lang ang speed of transfer... so when i try to transfer huge files/folders (40-50gb), it takes a looooong time sobra.. is there anyway to speed up the transfer?

tapos if i try to access my video/music files naman on my PC using PCH network, it also takes a looong time to load... ganun ba talaga? hehe nakakainip eh i just end up canceling the process.

Thanks!

I haven't really connected my PCH yet sa computer ko.  I've tried transferring files from one external HDD to another external HDD but slow... I just leave the transfer process overnight.. I don't have an internal HDD.

ah ok... i thought kasi pag wired connection through network supposedly mabilis ang access and streaming of videos/music eh... wonder what's wrong  ??? or worse baka ganun talaga  :o

hassle kasi mag transfer eh  >:(

Via USB 2.0, a sustained transfer rate of 25-40MB/sec is PRETTY GOOD.

A fully loaded 500GB HDD can be filled up to around 450GB or 450K MB.  At 25MB/sec, that would be about 5 hours.

So just imagine how long it takes to transfer 1TB of data kung putol putol ang data chunks (as in 100GB from HDD 1, 200GB from HDD2, 100GB from DVD-R, etc. etc.,  - it's almost a 1-day job).

so transfer of 1tb hdd would be around 10hrs???  :o

A 10-hour 1TB transfer means you are copying the entire contents from one HDD to another without choosing anything at all.  That would be really convenient, but what are the chances of that?

I think in most cases, let's say a 3TB collection - that would be spread in around 7x500GB or 4x1TB HDDs.    So if you consider the process of selection which is only natural, a more realistic expectation would be around 8 hours for 500GB and AT LEAST 16 hours for 1TB.

You can speed things up by transfering via SATA connection, but in any case, we are still talking of hours here..so everyone should really appreciate the time and effort (not to mention electrical energy) it takes when the so called "freebies" are processed.

And before I forget, full format of a new 1TB HDD is another 4-hour process.  You can get away with quick (few minute) format, but would you want to take the risk of bad sectors??

if your hdmi out from the pch is connected directly to your panel's hdmi in. i think there is a setting in pch that enable hdmi to ouput audio too (its defaulted to video). i think if you put video and audio (if there is such a selection) then it should also output in stereo sound out of your panel's speakers.

tell us if it works.
