Avoid Wharfedale.

Start with B&W, then try Mission and Monitor Audio.

It will probably exceed your budget, pero sayang naman ang receiver if you can't pair it with compatible speakers.

I've auditioned the MV floorstander (don't know the model) hooked up to Onkyo 606.  Oks naman sya for its price. Know your budget and audition speakers within your budget range.  Mahirap nang mag-audition ng higher priced speakers like B&W baka ma-stretch pa budget mo. :)

Sa subs, start with Velodyne.  Then try Klipsch.  Medyo mahal lang (around P25K for 10 inchers), pero kung gusto mo ng budget subs, try Dai-ichi USAudio and Dai-ichi DTX.

What do you mean that they are not compatible speakers? What is a good receiver that will go with Wharfdale speakers?

What do you mean that they are not compatible speakers?

It means that the respective sound signatures of the receiver and the speaker do not go well together.  (Please see my Reply #5 above).

But this is very subjective.  Most users don't like the combination, but who knows, you might like it when you hear it.

What is a good receiver that will go with Wharfdale speakers?

Try Yamaha.

But Yamaha has not been selling well these past few months because it's taking them too long to release a new model with updated features.

Notice that in this forum, the decline in Yamaha receiver posts resulted in a corresponding decline in the Wharfedale speaker posts.  But the recent increase in Onkyo receiver posts resulted in a corresponding increase in Mission speaker posts.

Hi Defjam,
I use an Onkyo SR600 with B&W DM 601S3s as fronts.   I can vouch for the performance of this tandem.

good luck

thanks sir defjam,
my advice - it is better to wait and save to buy the gears that you hope for than to buy it just for the sake of buying.  the setup i have was built over 5 years.  yes 5 years!

i never regretted each of these gears.

thats what im doing...pero kahit ata mag ipon ako ng 5 years di ko parin kaya bilhin ung mga katulad ng gears nyo. :D this dec bili nako ng speakers for a 2.1 setup. hopefully enough for a mission mv2 or mv4 fronts and a sub na hindi masyado malaki. ;) my budget kasi is around 15k lang for the 2.1. kung meron mga suggestions dyan feel free to post here para at least i have diff opinions of those who are way more experienced than me sa ht. ;D
