I noticed that the player picks the best resolution for the panel for e.g. with the Sharp 1080P LCD panel at SM Appliance store, it immediately went into 1080P display, we were not able to change it back, but when I got home, it displayed the 1080i resolution on my Samsung LCD, and via VGA on my RPTV, it went blank when forced to 1080i but reverted back to 480p after a while.

Hi Sir Alfie! ;D What Sammy LCD do you own? ;D I have a Sammy 32R81 eh. Just wanted to ask how the performance is in terms of PQ, if ok sya. ;)

I have the Sonoma, believe it's 1st gen, got it for 79K and panel got changed after a line became visible on it's 10th month, posted my experince on the Samsung panel thread, and it's doing well now.

Sorry, I guess my question wasn't clear. :P What I meant was, is there a significant improvement in PQ when you hooked up the Extreme DVD Player with your Sammy LCD as oppose to the dvd you were using before? :)

Dito ako medyo confuse, sa box and manual indicates it can accept up to 1080i but the actual unit can output 1080p resolution.
then when i test it on my Toshiba LCD 1080i no problem when i set it to 1080p, but when i test my pioneer DV600 player with 1080p resolution i got blank display.

Aba magaling ang Xtreme.  Hehe!  I can also output a 1080p signal in my Panasonic 32LE7 but my  panny is also 720p/1080i compatible lang.

Baka meron nito sa Quiapo at baka mas mura dun, anyone?

Also, two models tama ba, but the only difference is the color?

Thanks.

The Black one don't have the up and down function on the front panel and the USB is on the right side.
medyo annoying lang yung blue light in the middle (disc tray) and right side (play/eject part) of the player.
compare to my Sansui HDMI player this Xtreme can play divx, avi file using flash drive yung sansui will play only 5-10 seconds then the screen will freeze.

Meron on-going sale of this unit at SM-Cubao from Oct.3-5 only. Currently less 3% plus less 5% because of the sale tomorrow.
So the sale price is around P2,323.70

Only the black model is available. Wala daw stock yung silver.

I'm so happy with the Xtreme that I got the Black one even though I knew it's less desirable than the Silver Pioneer lookalike. ;D ;D ;D

I got my second unit at the SM Appliance in Cubao last Saturday, they had a sale, and it was discounted to 2,399.49 pesos via straight card payment, there's an additional 3% discount i fyou pay cash, amounting to less than 20 pesos more, so, I preferred to pay card. :D

The very best thing about this player is that it upscales to 1080i via component cables, and if your LCD is as old as mine, having only one HDMI,then abandon your regrets, for one can still enjoy an upscaled video which is almost as good (mine is only 32") as the HDMI.  ;)

However, if possible do get the Silver Pioneer LookAlike, since, the Blue light is really irritating in the dark, and having a setup and menu face panel is advantageous than having none at all. ;D

nirecommend ko sa mom ko ito we bought it at sm megamall last piece na sya silver na lang, when got home i testing testing yung tv nya hanggang 1080i lang ang kaya pero ni-set ko sa 1080p haha tinanggap (looks like hindi totoo 1080p malamang hnaggang 1080i lang ang kaya) i also test my DV600 set at 1080p the tv says that the signal is not compatible... napatunayan ko na hindi sya totoong 1080p, then after after one day nagloloko na yung HDMI out nya, yes i did troubleshoot bigla kasi ayaw na gumana HDMI pinaglipatlipat ko settings from HDMI to component (ok yung component) ayaw talaga then biglang nagkaroon na ulit nang iaayos ko na pwesto ng player (kasi nakatagilid para kita ko yung likod) PANG! konting usog pa lang nawala na naman, kinuha ko yung dv600 ko to try baka yung HDMI cable ang sira ok naman try ko din ibang HDMI cable ayaw pa din talaga, try ko naman yung extreme player sa tv ko ayaw pa din, sira talaga yung HDMI out nya.

Good thing is dinala kanina ng mom ko yung player sa sm megamall para papalitan wala pa rin stock so wala ng choice i told my mom na pioneer DV-410 na lang kunin nya, of course additional bayad.

Nang-ya-yari talaga iyan'.  :(

ok nga sana kaya lang natapat sa sira eh. tapos wala pa stock, di na din makapaghihintay mom ko dahil gagamitin sa beerdayan eh... so no choice kundi magpalit.

sira talaga kasi ginawa ko na lahat ng troubleshooting using 2 HDMI cables 2 DVD players and 2 HDTV para walang lusot.

i've noticed the subtitles are chopped inappropriately, especially long sentences with more than enough characters. i'm thinking it's because of the subtitle format .sub or .srt, as to which one screws it up  ???
