Brader wala magagalit nasa gitna ng bukid bahay ko e wala kapitbahay. Wala din internet connection(hindi kaya ng smart bro) at wala din cable(except destiny). Kaya hometheater lang pinagkakaabalahan sa gabi  ;D

I need your input mga braders. Im shopping for split type aircon. Ano mairerecommend nyo?
Plan ko is 2 units of 2hp. Hindi kaya over power ito? Medyo mas silent ang 1.5hp kaso baka pag marami manunuod baka maging mainit specially during summer na super init sa area namin.

Nag oofer sa akin ang Kolin airconditioner and giving me a 25%+ discount and the owner and installer assured me of their service.
Talk with the distibutor of Imarflex aircon(from the post of Matzer) also and giving me a 20% discount naman. Kaso alam ko sikat sila sa turbo cooker e baka imbis na lamig ang ilabas eh heat ang ibuga.  ;D
Regarding Panasonic store price lang talaga.

Personally bro am using a Pannie 2hp split in my main HT room (around 20 sqm).  Minimal noise - cause that's the primary strength naman of split vs. window type. So you're getting two - hmmm... sa laki naman ng room mo (50+ sqm) so I reckon that's fine.  Besides, just using one would surely take a longer time for you to cool up the room (unless you go for the 'commercial' / 'industrial' ones vs. 'consumer' a/c's).

My 10 cents, whenever kaya - always get the bigger model.  A 2hp a/c unit working at 20% power to cool the room is always a lot more efficient vs. a 1.5 a/c unit working at 90% all the time (same analogy for refs). Just something to consider. Mas hindi hirap yung makina, better for your a/c and electricity bill.  Also, try to factor in the heat emanating from your gear - if you're planning to really 'gear' up, best you invest ahead in a higher powered a/c.

Good luck sa hunting bro!  Cheers!

Jay, your HT is around 5000 cubic feet. Mine is around 6000. I have 2 x 1.5 TR aircons -- ok na kasi the room is fully sealed. Parang refrigerator. The important thing is to make sure that the doors are well-sealed, lalo na ang ilalim ng doors - lagyan mo ng parang palda na nabibili sa TruValue. Lagyan mo rin ng rubber seal sa jamb so that it's tight when it closes -- parang ref nga ang dating.

Normally, I use only one aircon and ok na sya. Kelangan lang 2 when there are lots of people.

The very big advantage is that it is much more quiet than 2 hp. Siguro para makatipid sa kuryente, get an aircon na may inverter. Otherwise, kung hinahanap mo lang is quiet na aircon, the best that I found is Toshiba. Super tahimik talaga. Wag ka kumuha ng Kolin - maingay masyado.
No room acoustic treatment is like running a Ferrari on ice.

Ok thanks guys for the input. gusto ko nga pana na inverter type kaso lang talaga is price. Anyway will try to call toshiba. If the price diff is not that big I'll go with the panasonic, maybe 1 unit 2hp and 1 unit 1.5hp para pagmalamig na shut off ko na yung 2hp.

+1000 ;) ;D better talaga yung over powered than kapos as marl said. You dont only consider the ROOM SIZE but also the CONTENTS and NUMBER of OCCUPANTS. Mahirap naman na pag marami na bisita eh mainit na, kawawa yung gears esp during summer time and HOT SCENES ;D ;D you can also consider HITACHI ;) may inverter type na sila.

I just re-computed. The volume of my HT is about 6500 cubic feet, which is 30% more than Jay's HT. I have 3 x 200-watt/channel stereo power amps + 2 x 1500-watt subwoofers and I have had up to 24 magulo people in the room at the same time. My 2 x 1.5 TR aircons have been more than sufficient. As I have noted, one aircon is enough most of the time and I believe this is because a properly-treated HT room is like a refrigerator -- it's very well-insulated.

I think the other big point here is noise. There is a big difference in noise level between 1.5 TR and 2 TR. In a very quiet HT, a 2 TR aircon can sound like a freight train.

I think that Jay's compromise is best - 1 x 1.5 TR and 1 x 2 TR.

I don't think this is possible.

My understanding is that split-type aircons are normally classified by TR (tons of refrigeration) while window-type units are classified by HP (horsepower). Since the discussion is on split-types, we need to use TR.

For air-conditioning, what I recall is that 1 TR is about 1.38 HP so 1.5 TR is about 2.07 HP.

I stand corrected Sir, You are right, I guess I computed it wrong(direct division) :) I think only carrier brand uses Tonner while the rest is Hp. Also Btu vs KJ pa. So if buying 1 Tonner AC, its around 1.5hp(1.38 to be exact) and 2 tonner with 24000btu cap is roughly 2.5hp(most have 25000btu cap).

Sir mark thanks for the additional info ;)

Wala pa pare. Hopefully mga Nov. 20 shipment so around December dating. Naka-hold nga lahat gawa dahil dun hindi ko alam specs kaya yung riser hindi ko pa nagagawa pati carpet flooring wala pa and yung color ng walls hindi pa makapagdecide since wala pa carpet.

Ok lang naman dami work ngayon eh  ;)

About the aircon I'm planning a mitsubishi just waiting for a very good price (kung ibibigay)  :) Trying to call Toshiba kaso they are giving me a run around, ang mahal pa naman ng long distance sa cellphone.

If you have the moolah and passion go for the SVS :o :o :o kahit isa lang happy ka na ;)

Agree ako dito mag SVS ka na kung may pasensya kang magintay. Not really on moolah kasi I think they are more value for money. Medyo malaking space lang kailangan mo.  ;)

Sir yung Hitachi I think meron na inverter type at multi-zone types :) Sa church ng Iglesia ni Cristo ganito na gamit, low noise talaga even yung big units. I just dont have an idea about pricing  :(

Monozone/Multizone

This Monozone/Multizone range is DC inverter PAM driven heat pump system operating on R410A, ranging from 2.5 -6.0 Kw cooling (nominal) as a single split, or as a dual, triple, or quadruple multi split system,up to 12kw max indoor combinations. The Monozone/Multizone offers wall mounted, floor standing, 60mm x 60mm cassette, and in-the-ceiling ducted indoor units.

ganda talaga ng Work in Progress nyo.  ensure security lang on your entertainment room kase hiwalay sya sa bahay.  medyo magandang locks and other security devices dapat to protect your gears.
