Just got this yesterday:

Samsung BD-F7500
2013 model, 3D, WiFi, 4K.  Dual-core, fast-loading.
P9,990

It seems that movie buffs are now into media players rather than disc players, which is why retailers no longer want to invest in Blu-ray player inventories.

Sir where did you buy your blu ray player? naghahanap din ako but puro low end ng pioneer and sony yung available.

Sa Listening in Style Shangrila.

Hindi talaga available for regular sale yan sir.

Bundled as freebie yan sa Samsung TV.

Salamat sir.

Good points are the fast load speed, good picture quality and good build quality.  Loads very quickly, since it has a dual-core processor.

Good BD picture quality is not suprising, since other players can do the same.  But good DVD picture quality is the surprising part.

According to an avsforum post, this model uses a Silicon Image Sil9616 chip, the same as the Oppo BD 103D and 105D, which might be why its BD and DVD performance are so good.

Bad points are the other functions.

USB video has good quality, but has major bugs even after updating to the latest firmware.  On USB, cover art is not recognized; USB 3D frame rate is always output at 60i regardless of player settings; USB 3D has a bit more ghosting than my WDTV media player.

Smart functions are not so good; web browser is not so good.  Compatibility for wireless keyboard is USB-only, not bluetooth.

Guys,
Since Oppo Bluray Players are not available locally, what's the next best thing in terms of PQ that is locally available?

sa SM The Block Appliance Center is selling BDP stand-alone.  price range P 5K for non 3D and P 10K for 3D capable.  brands available: samsung, sony and philips.

I bought a pioneer bdp450 a year ago, 14990 pesos ata sa ansons trinoma. It is a very nice player in terms of pq for me. Pero of course mas maganda pa rin yun oppo. The pioneer is just a pure bluray disc player for me. I can't complain on the price of the pioneer hehe.

Sir, this model is with Cinavia na?  How about it's performance  in  Playing movie files from hard drives.   Am considering also this Pioner bluray player.

Closest I have found to Oppo PQ is Panasonic (from HMR).
On picture quality I actually find it very hard to differentiate the two, except that Oppo is really feature loaded like with HDMI-In and Multiple USB inputs.

Samsung BDs I used tends to offer enhanced colors that are off from Natural colors.

In terms of AV quality, are PS3 and PS4 just the same as a good Bluray player? Or are there extra functions that PS3/PS4 can't do?

What are the advantages of a dedicated Bluray player aside from easy startup?

I'm planning to set a HT soon and I'm curious if its worth buying an extra player.

Thanks!

SONY BDP-S550 for almost two years now (firmware version 024 updated)
Bought Panasonic DMP-BDT220 as an alternate player.  ^-^
Bought another one, Soniq B100 as a dedicated blu-ray player for region B titles

Earlier this year, my Pioneer 410V DVD player conked out. I decided against buying a replacement since I seldom watch DVDs nowadays. But I opted to get another BD player after my Sony BDP S550 started showing early signs of death throes. While it still perfectly plays region 1 DVDs, it no longer reads some BDs which it used to play effortlessly in the past. It served as my primary BD player for seven years so I would say sulit na rin.  So a new duty roster is in order: the Panny will now serve as my main player; the newly bought Samsung BD H6500 player will serve as a back up while the Soniq will remain serving its purpose as my dedicated region B player; finally the Sony will be relegated as a DVD player ^-^

LG lang ata ang walang Cinavia, na try ko na Samsung, Pioneer and SOny before. Lahat may Cinavia. Pero i might be wrong ha.

Ok naman specs sheet and reviews kaya I decided to buy. One thing that I failed to check is the 3D capability of the player mukhang di sya capable to playback 3D BDs.

I can't remember the exact landed cost but I'm sure it's less than P5,000.00. Not bad for a basic All Region Blu Ray player.
