Daemon,

I have an SR 4300 together with a MIssion Set up. (M731,M7C2 & M71i).

The marantz can drive them well since the speakers have high sensitivity. They are already nice sounding out of the box.

You can try other speakers too and find out what type of sound pleases you most.

Better wait for the 5400 to come!!! ;D

BuLLeT,  our set-up is almost the same.  our difference is in the fronts coz i'm using m72i & i have the m7c1 as my surround back.  just wondering what your sub is.  i currently have a dq12 which i want to upgrade.

thanks a lot!

HI Larry Boy,

For my surround back, I am using  Wharf diamond 8C since I can't afford another M7C2 hehehe. The surround back has been removed from the set up by my wife  for the time being.

I am using a sub from Nirv which is using a 10 inch driver and it is front firing. But hey, this 10 incher can sound like a 12 incher and was able to fill up my salas and dining area with tight & deep bass. The thing is it has only one input at the back and a volume & bass control. But it's really a bang for the buck. ;D

The place where my set up is not an ideal one since there is a lot of open space since a 2nd story is being planned to be constructed.

But the system can play loud nough for us. NOrmal listening level is -23 Db for those sources with strong audio signal.

Never went below -15 for movies & music.

magkano ba yung bagong line ng marantz receivers?

 4400
 5400
 6400 ?

Mission speakers ang bagay d2 diba?

Im using Marantz SR4400 (price here is 450sgd) with Mission m70.  OKs sya for both movies and music.  Pero kung more on music ang gusto mo eh Mordaunt Short ang kunin mo.

Look at there Actual Power Produced. Far from what is written as specs. Except for Marantz and Pioneer.

Sometimes it's really hard to full y trust the spec sheets.

I hope that the 5400 is THX select certified but I really doubt ???

Marantz amps are highly recommended. Bought a Marantz SR4300 last year and I have no complaints plus the value and price its amazing.  Im using B&w's and Energy speakers with them.  They sound great plus with 80RMS for every channel my speakers SING! Get the color Gold marantz.  Looks classy than the black one.  You can buy it a Festival Mall for only 17.5K and its 6.1 already.  Read reviews of the amp they tested it side by side with Hk's, sony's etc.  and the maratnz came out on top.  Forgot the issue but if you check out the amp in festi they have magz that have reviews of the Marantz.  Great amp and good value!!! buy it and you wont be dissapointed.  If you've got money to spare buy the higher models for sure it kicks ass!!!

This is already good entry-level 6.1 Receiver and also one of the cheapest. I'm using this receiver, what I like about this receiver is very musical.

Get "better" speaker like preferably with higher sensitivity. Or if you want Wharfs with Marantz, try to tweak it.
