Ok, wag na muna siguro yang variable high pass, mukhang mahirap hehehe.
From my modelling, 15Hz high pass setting is fine with me.  :)
BTW, how about the option to turn on and off the high pass filter? Pwede rin ba?
And how about sa low-pass filter, possible din ba ang 48dB per octave na roll-off?

Ok, it's fixed at 15Hz as of now, unless you change your mind.  :D

Pwede, but not recommended, it's you sub driver's last line of defense.

It is in fact composed of 3 24db/octave lpf, 2 fixed and 1 continuously variable. Don't worry about the slope, I did my homework.  ;)

Ang dami na revisions kaya I opted to design a new one while taking into account all the lessons that I learned.

bro,

your sub controller has been adjusted as per your request.  :)

btw, if you'll be using large amps for your sub project may I suggest you also use soft start/in-rush limiter for your setup especially if you'll use large power supply capacitors. you don't want your house lights to flicker when you power on your amps right?  ;D

cheers

Thanks bro.
Yes, I think I'll just go with the Amp1 of bro Pilyo, laki nga ng mga capacitors dito as per the pictures on his thread at pc-tipid. I'll just request to him the soft start feature.

sir Noel,

Tama ba?  ???

The finish nearly matched my Monitor Audio RS1's, especially how the RS1 corners was rounded (ako na mismo nag-sand ng corners ng sub ko hehehe).
Done a bit of testing this morning, I'd say Im quite satisfied with the sound quality, it blends well with my mains and sounds a lot better than my current DTX for music, and even more for HT.
Im temporarily using  amp3 to power it, Pilyo's amp is still on the making.  :D
I don't have a camera but will try to post some fone cam pics later.  :)

Updated with pics on the first page.  :D

Maraming maraming salamat kay bro. Earl Estrera, this build could not have been possible if I did not found him.  ;D

Next up, Pilyo's amp1 to power this sub, currently im using Pilyo's amp3 but I think it lacks the power to drive the sub well so I asked sir Pilyo to make the amp1 for this sub.

Currently, Im already starting another build-> twin sealed Infinity Kappa Perfect, specifically designed for use with classical, jazz, rock, pop and concert music. I'll try to post the details of the build for other diyers to scrutinize.  Again, these two subs will be finished in Rosewood piano finish to match the rest of the system and will be fitted with a black piano finish magnetic grills.  ;D

yup, nasa labas lang yung amp1, actually gagawin ko syang parang bada power amp, yung power switch lang makikita sa harap, yung power switch na bilog with thin blue light on side, which will lit when turned on. Nakagawa na ako ng prelim design for it, already sent it to Pilyo, features detachable power cord, silent 120mm fan that can be turned off. and two gold-plated RCA inputs, and gold-plated speaker terminals. I already expect na mabigat and malaki ito, I already own an amp3 and this one is even bigger and heavier. It will be stacked together with the subwoofer controller made by sir jojod and to be located besides my other electronics. Still planning to get my hands to create another diy case for the sub controller of sir jojod since currently it is encased in a plastic box, which frankly I do not like that much. No offense intended to sir jojod, the sub controller is doing its job superbly, medyo maselan lang talaga ako minsan sa look and feel, hehehe.

thanks mike, that was an excellent build. :o
I really like how they did well on doing the flush mount.
Yung sa diy sub ko flush mounting din sana kaso nung ginawa yung top circle, hindi eksakto dun sa bottom circle, kaya pinabaklas ko na lang at hindi na flush mount ginawa namin, it takes a lot of precision to do it.
BTW, may na-mention ka ata dun sa build thread mo about the output measurement and THD?

Itong kappa build ko, kapag nakahiram ako ng DSLR, I'll try taking some pics along the way and post it here. Dami ko pang gustong gawin, balak ko din nga gumawa ng ported version for this kappa just to compare the output and sound quality. ;D

no, that guy failed to complete the tests.  among many reasons like it was too windy and software/hardware problems - di na natuloy.

but he was the guy who built my kappa and designed the "simple ported kappa build" many people are now using
http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45528

he also built and designed the ultra low distortion - no resonance "complicated ported kappa build"

he's very anal in his builds, for example my sealed kappas were designed with no panel resonance an octave higher than the targeted FR.  (which was 150hz)

instead of being full range, it was designed to do 50-150hz at 119db at 900w at low distortion.

I know the guy, I actually followed his builds closely and was inspired by his build ideas like how to make a non-resonant walls and how to cut the panel vibrations to minimum, thus leading to the complicated and extensive bracing of design. My diy sub's walls are actually Contrained-Layer-Damped like this:

More here:
http://www.audioholics.com/education/loudspeaker-basics/lowering-mechanical-noise-floor-in-speakers-pt-2
http://www.symposiumusa.com/tech2.html
http://www.earsc.com/pdfs/engineering/understandingdamping.pdf
The walls of the box are doubled and two layers of deadening material was sandwiched in between.
I previously planned to use only extensional damping by putting the deadening material on one side of the wall but I thought this is not very effective so I changed it to become constrained-layer.
From my initial testing, this seems to work well, my sub do not vibrate that much at moderate volumes(not tested at high volumes), unlike my current DTX sub, considering that the sub is using two high excursion drivers.

Acoustimat. They are actually used for damping the vibrations in a car body. Dynamat siguro much better but it was way more expensive at 2x the price of Acoustimat. I bought it from a friend @ KotseAudioClub.
