For a stereo amp, I think the Marantz PM 5004 would match well with your RTI A7.

Sirs,

Im currently on an upgrade path and Im thinking about getting the RTi A5 floorstanders, Csi a6 center and RTi A1.. My typical AV "sked' is 80% movies and 20% music. I have an Onkyo 507 AVR.

What do you guys think?

I suggest you get the RTi A3's makakatipid ka pa..Kung gust mo talaga nang RTi's floor standers, i suggest you save up and get the RTi A9 instead..

Panalo sir ang A3's from Music to Movies.. Then paired with CSi A6 and A1.. I know sir kasi eto setup ko ngayon.. And like what i said if i will be getting the floor standers...A9 na...

I'm of the same opinion as Brader Courage.  If you can do A9s, go for it.  If you need a "rest stop", the A3 is the best IMHO.  My fronts are A3s now but A9s are in my upgrade path.  Honestly though I'm really very happy with the A3s, and I could settle with them.  What is lacking in the bass is for me sufficiently made up for by the sub.

I've another question:  how big a difference in performance are either of the FXi as compared to the RTi A1 for surrounds?  Right now I'm using Wharfedales 10DFS and they seem ok.  I'll of course change them, looks odd, but which ones: FXi or RTi?

kung for keeps, FXi definitely because talagang dedicated for surrounds yan  (it has a switch for bipole dipole). but if you want flexibility, go for A1 because you can also assign them as front-high/wide, back surrounds or even as mains for stereo setup, and sa tingin ko mas madali ito ibenta kung sawa kana. :)

RTi's pa din  ;D

If you like more base I think lamang dyan ang Tsi400 kasi floorstander and the 3 woofer drivers.
Pero sa clarity pabalo dyan ang RTi...

gandang hobby pala talaga audio :) mejo masakit lang bulsa . . .AS suggested , I need a stereo amp for better playback on my polks, cgro sa sunod, ipon muna :) Ang di ko lang gusto is if pag may stereo amp na lipat2 pa ng wires :( Di pa pwede ikabit nlng ang stereo amp sa receiver ?hehehehe

Anyways, keylangan ba talaga ang external amplifier ,???My onkyo 708 is listed as 110w per channel.
Sa kakasearch ko net, ang ganda ng emotiva Xpa-3 pero ala ata dito sa pinas :( Ang looks niya is dagdag pogi points hehe

I'll still stick to RTi's...SOund is clean, detailed and crisp....Kung kulang sa bass, mas madaling mag dagdag nang Low frequency kesa gawing detailed and crisp ang tunog in my opinion :)

Mga Tsip, so why not the A5 over the A3 if budget allows?   Hindi ba sulit ang difference based sa cost-performance (especially in stereo mode)?

Hi Courage!  How's the A6 matching with the A3?   Hindi ba na-o-overpower ng center yung fronts?  I like huge center speakers too BTW.

Thanks!

Actually bro, we shouldn't make cost-performance comparisons between speakers of different levels.   The higher levels will almost always loose to the lower levels when comparing cost-performance ratios because of the "Law of Diminishing Return" which basically says, "A 50% increase in performance will cost a 100% increase in cost".  IMHO, if we make cost-performance comparisons we'd probably not be as happy as we actually can be.  You always end up saying "sayang ang pera".   The goal is to be happy, so IMHO, just get the best the budget will allow.  So my answer to your question is "No, but if you can buy A5s with your budget get A5s .. if you can get A7s then get A7s, if you can get A9s then by all means get A9s ... you'll be happier".

Comparisons of cost-performance ratios between speakers of the same level are IMHO valid.  The Polk RTi line is the winner for me.

How's the A6 matching with the A3?   Hindi ba na-o-overpower ng center yung fronts?

My LCR setup is like Bro Courage's.  I don't think A6 overpowers the A3s but an A4 might be sufficient.  I got an A6 also considering that I've plans for A9s.

I've a new question.   I have in mind A9s for my fronts but I'm finding that music is now occupying more of my usage.   I'm actually quite happy with the A3s especially with the DSW660 now delivering the bass for music.

So the question now is might the a set of LSi 9s be a better choice?  The cost of the LSi 15 is not far from that of the RTi A9, so LSi 15 for fronts might be worth considering too.  For now never mind the fact that the LSi series are 4 ohms.

Marc, I think I'll need to compare these:  A3+DSW660, A9, LSi9(+DSW660), LSi15 when I'm ready.  I know you have a the LSi9, do you have the LSi15 in your shop?

The LSi speakers are lovely units in both sound and aesthetics. However, I don't think they would match with an RTi center as they are voiced very very differently (my opinion). If you're getting LSi L/R speaks, I suggest getting the LSi center as well.

But in movie-mode, the fronts are very much "effects" speakers only.  I could be wrong but this is the dilemma of dual mode setups.  For music, its all about the fronts.  For movies, its mostly the center, and the sub.

I'll concede that there are some movies where the fronts play an important role but is fidelity that important?

Solution is to have two separate systems!  There goes the budget :)

That's really the best option. Have. Separate system for your music. :) i suggest getting the Rti a9 to complete your home theater. Then, when budget permits, set up a system for your music. :)

Hindi naman na over power sir.. Actually in my comparison with the A4, the reason i choose the A6 is mas buo yung tunog nang A6, the voice doesnt sound like it's coming from the speakers but from the actor itself...Yung feeling na pag sinarado mo yung mata mo eh parang nasa harap mo yung nagsasalita...A4 is not bad it's actually very good mas maganda lang talaga para sa akin ang A6..

@CARLITOCOOL
I have an A3+A6 combo too.
I had the A4 for a couple of weeks, pero I felt 'bitin'. So I had it replaced with the A6. What I love about it is that since I'm mostly into movies, the center really plays heavily and it's good that I got this. I can hear and feel the weight of the sound. Parang ramdam Ko Yung material Kung wood or metals or rock siya. Truly a solid listening experience.
Also, down the road, I'm goal-setting an A9. Hehe..

@Masters:
I'm considering a T amp na din for audio.
Any recommendations for a match with the RTi A3?
Ok ba Yung Asa MP na 2020-20? It's about 3k.

mag A6 ka na bro if you have the space and if you plan on upgrading your L/R sa future, and the price difference is reasonable. mas safe purchase yan compared sa a4. ako pinili ko a4, kasi wala talaga paglalagyan and bedroom setup lng naman, plus less tempting on my part to upgrade to a floorstander and a bigger tv.hehe. goodluck  ;D

Go for something more powerful to bring out the dynamic contrast in music. Check out the Dayton DTA-100a and equivalents (or higher).

New scenario guys: assuming that there will be no upgrade path for me, which is better between the two combos:

tsi500 + cs20

vs

rti a5 + csi a4

Nagbebenta ba ng tsi500 kay sir avshop if ever?
