mga sir kakakuha ko lang den ng RTI A3 and waiting pa ako sa center.. gamit ko is vsx 520 anu bang magandang upgrade sa receiver na hindi within 20-28 k budget po.

namili ako between, tsi 200/300, wharfedale 10.5 and rtiA3.. mas angat pala talaga ang rti A3, gamit ko kasi before eh diamond 9 series i thought na same level lang sila (dahil sa labas ng pinas eh almost same price sila  dito lang satin ata mura wharfe) ... kaya tama pala na i audition muna ng i audition.
nagulat lang ako kasi ng i audition namin to kasama ko office mate ko.. sa S&S nung sa tube amp nila una grabe ang clarity ng voice sa rti pero nung i transfer naman sa onkyo na receiver medyu nag defrade halatang halata. ganun po ba talaga kayu difference between separate amp and receiver...

COngrats on your new RTi sir... We have same speakers.. Maganda talaga yan... Sir kahit sa Receivers mag iiba tunog nyan.. Right now my RTi's are being powered by Yammy and for me the sound is awesome compared when i was using my Harman with it. Ang layo nang difference. I also came from a Wharfe setup before the RTi's.

For music mas maganda talaga dedicated na music amp versus a receiver, though may mga receivers din naman na maganda for music..

What's your mix %movies versus %music?  If mostly movies then I might suggest you upgrade to a Pioneer VSX-1020 or 1021.  A Yamaha is also ok.  Both sound good to me even for music.  If audio-only then you might go for a tube amp or an nice integrated amp.

Do magnetic fields affected LCD TVs?  I don't think so but I could be wrong.  We had our A3s beside a plasma and I did not notice any effect.

On the matter of power, our 1019 did very well on the A3.  I only probably ran it to 70% at the very very most.  Try running the your A3 as high as you can - this should give you an idea of what kind of power you need.

LCD/LED/Plasma TVs are not affected by magnetic fields unlike with CRTs/ Rear projection TVs (old school using tubes)

You're welcome cray

Actually, that warning is still true if you are using CRT TVs (an old Sony XBR2 in the guest room / or a simple CRT TV in maid's room for example and you want to put speakers beside it)

but if all the TVs in your household are already DLP/LCD/LED/Plasma, then this caution no longer holds water.

That really depends on your sonic preference. The RTi A3 is very easy to drive, so most amps would do well driving this model.

Both the A3 and the B6 measure very well, with the B6 being a little harder to drive. The B6 has a more rounded and sonorous sound, which would appeal to people who like their music relaxing and downtempo. The A3 produces a slightly forward and caffeine-infused sound, for those who like to emphasize detail, impact and pace.

Despite these characteristics, how the system works as a whole will matter more than the individual performance of each device in general.

I wouldn't count on the VK2100 for a mellow output, unless you partner it with dark-sounding gear. Mix and match, then choose what tickles your ears.

+1
Already heard A3 + vk2100 combo and an up tempo type of music will benefit with this. This will also bring the bass out of the A3  ;)

@cray:
I'm using Rti A3 for Jazz music.
My setup is Flac via Mac/PC -> Dayton DAC -> Yaqin Cd2 buffer -> Topping TP60 then RTi A3.
Very malambing Ang sound and "heavenly".. Hehe..
Just in case you want to consider other options. (",)

Sorry newbie sa audio setup.  Sa mga gumagamit ng tamps for purely music, paano if you will watch movies? Do you rewire the speakers from tamps to avr? Or may hardware to do away with rewiring if you want to use tamps or avr? Thanks

Sir, I have a separate cable na naka "abang" for audio only and for HT.
I got them separate banana plugs as well so that it's easier to plug and unplug.
I know there are switchers around pero, I remember reading that adding another device in between the source signal and the speakers may affect the fullness of the sound.

Masters, feel free to chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. Just sharing my experience. Hehehe..

As many have testified, the RTi A3 is a very easy speaker to drive so any decent receiver will do well.  I used to have a Pioneer VSX-1019 which is the elder sibling of the 1020 and 1021.  I would not be surprised though if the lower models of this line would do very well too.
