Thanks again.  I guess I'll just mount the speakers then have AVR do the equalization :).

Hi mga masters.. Question lang... I'm currently using OWM3 as surrounds.. I'm planning to upgrade to FXI A4 or A6 to match my RTI A3 fronts and A6 Center...

Questions is: Malaki ba iimprove ng sounds if I upgrade to FXI A4 / A6 for my surrounds? Or do you suggest using RTI A1 instead para mas makatipid?

TIA

Don't really know about the OVM3 but I just upgraded from RM9 to FXi A6.  The improvement was vast.  Hope this helps.

Thank you sir... I think the OWM3 is usually matched with the Polk TSI Series... The only thing that holds me back in getting the FXIA6 is the price.. I just need to convince myself more that it really is worth it..

I've read din dito na the difference is night and day when you have matching fronts, center and surrounds... so konti nalang talaga... Magagasgas nanaman ang Credit Card ko... :)

I'm also planning to change my receiver from HK 260 (Local) to Onkyo 809 (US Version)... Any comment on this sir? Some say that Onkyo is too bright for the RTI's.... But some say din na it's a very good match.. Ok na ba ako sa current set-up ko? D kasi ako ganun kasatisfied e.. baka settings lang kasi problem or yung source...

The basic rule is "audition, audition, audition".   This is because it is really up to you.  HOWEVER, if for some reason you can follow the basic rule, my 2-cents is stick to the the same line or at least the same brand.

Unfortunately, I can't help you on the Onkyo being a Yamaha fan myself, at least when it comes to HT.

Thank you sir... I haven't tried Yamaha... What Yammy would match our RTI's? I'll try to audition it after the Holy Week.. Budget is Around 30 to 35k max.. I'm open to second hand units... thanks..

Before upgrading, we were actually using a Pioneer VSX-1019 - generally the 1019 did well enough but it was a bit bright for my taste.  I've heard a Yamaha RXV-2600 with a pair of A3s and it was great so I decided to get a Yamaha when I upgraded to RTi floorstanders.

With your budget, I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding a good 2nd hand Yamaha receiver.  If you do not plan to upgrade to larger speakers then I suggest you get something medium power but feature rich.

Good luck.

ive decided to go for rti being a polk fan since i started in this hobby. now im rebuilding my HT im torn between the A7, A5 and A3. i do intend to use it mostly for HT 90% and 10% music and i intend to power it with my 809. center for sure i want the A6 and currently have the svs plus ( will go dual plus i hope sometime soon ) i always run my system with the audy on and set all speakers to 80hz and let my subwoofer handle all the lows. is it advisable to go for the A7 knowing that the pair comes in 4 woofer, 2 mid and 2 tweets. i feel like if i go for the 7s im not really utilizing everything since i dont make the woofer work with my settings. or should i just go for the 5s comes in set of 4 mids and 2 tweets. also according to the polk website most of the users said the 5s got better mids compared to the 7s. or should i just go for the 3s? will it be enough? my room is about 28-30sqm. comments and advice will be truly appreciated. thanks! :)

I think it's because  Bro Ultimatedls' program is "90% HT 10% Music" and he has a sub.  Our program is probably "50% HT 50% Music" which is why our system has to be good at both and we ended up with the A9.

Best is to try both combos out A5 w/ sub and A7 w/ sub on your favorite material.  I spent a good amount of time auditioning all RTi models.   The funny thing with the RTi series, at least to my ears, is that once you consider the A5 and have bang-buck a top priority then you end up with the A9 ... fantastic price-performance engineering IMHO.  So before you decide I suggest you listen to the  A9?  If there are constraints that rule out the A9 then go for the A7.

Master Dennis,

I think the A5 will fill your room just fine, and is a great choice at that price range. As Louie and Allan mentioned however, the A9's imposing size and its top to bottom range also make it a good candidate.

I'm sure the A9 would sound great but will I be needing all the extra woofers? since I want my subwoofer handle all the lows.

You don't really 'need' it. It's just good to have in case you'd like to run a lower cross or to run them full range later on. Something to play with when you're bored (LOL).

Since you plan to route the bass to your sub, I'd assume that the A5 can deliver sufficient motivation for your room. It also plays low enough to make your 80Hz transition very smooth. The drivers seem to be identical to those used in the A6, which may be an added plus for you. :)

Nice activity idea!  I've been running the A9 full range - AVR "Bass Out" set to "Both" (front & sub) with a 80 Hz crossover and all effect speakers set to small as suggested in another thread.  Just now, I set the AVR "Bass Out" to "SWFR" (subwoofer only) but with a crossover of 40 Hz ... 9 am should be late enough in the day to watch "Battle Los Angeles" :).

I remember having the klipsch F3 before having dual 8 woofer I never tried different settings I just run audy and set all xover to 80hz (THX) except for the subs and that's it. for me soundtrack is more alive like that. That's my preference. :)

Sirs,

I currently have Tsi 100 as fronts, will the CSi A4 match as center?
