What does this "more grainy" thing means sa pq? does it mean the the WDTV is better in pq?
Please take note of my use of "SEEMS"
Here are my best attempts at elaborating on this:
Firstly, if you are defining PQ on a per frame basis, I would have to say yes, as far as initial impressions go, the WD was able to produce sharper frames.
*Just to have a bit of science behind it, I played a couple of 720p and 1080p files on both the 34A and the WD. Generally speaking, the dots (pixels?) that make up the pic frame SEEMED to be packed together more closely with the WD.
HOWEVER, I don't just base it on the Frame sharpness. It looked to me that the 34a was able to handle fast moving scenes. ( I'm assuming that some of you have also experienced pixelization around fast moving objects when using the WD)
I do have to say that unless you are very near the screen, the slight advantage of the WD is barely noticable.
there is that issue with choppy play of large files for the egreat when the external drive is not formatted in the 34a's native/optimal format of EXT3. I'll post as soon as I am able to reformat .
