Share your HTPC's part 2
« on: Oct 22, 2009 at 08:51 AM »
Good day mga pips, magrereply pa sana ako sa original thread ng share your htpc's but sir firewired is encouraging a new thread.

heres my rig then:

Intel Core2quad 8400
MSI P45 platinum zilent ed motherboard
4-1gb ddr2 team elite 800mhz*
8800 xfx alpha dog ed, 512bit vcard*
silverstone 550 psu
siverstone precesion series atx casing model sst-ps01b

denon avr 1910 (bought from avshop)
Panasonic 42pv80 monitor
Tiltable wall mount with adjustable bracket (di ko alam tawag e,hehe)

speaker:
polkaudio tsi300 series (front and center palang)
polkaudio dsw 500 subwoofer (next project)

*came from my old rig-planning to upgrade pag me budget na.

when i first found this topic and started reading forums, tama nga un sinasabi nila parang SARS ang hobby na to...nangangati ang pwet ko hanggat di nakukumpleto ung HT/Audio setup ko e.

actually i just got the denon avr from avshop, but im having problem with my audio connection, ganito cia, PC/spdif out(built in sa mobo)-using toslink cable-denon avr/optical in. ang problem di mabasa ng avr un connection at walang sound na lumalabas. i both configure narin na digital output na nila, but my pc doesnt recognize the spdif connection once i plug the toslink cable, unlike un sa 3.5mm jack once na plug/unplug automatic nababasa ny pc. planning to buy soundcard but im thingking if it still necessary since i have the avr narin for HD audio formats..kailangan pa ba?

sir iiinas told me that i should use optical cable na me 3.5mm adapter para un ang nalang gamitin ko, pero ang concern ko baka analog parin ang output nya since un panggagalingan analog.tama ba mga sir?

anyway, i still have a long way to go to learn those interconnects and ht set up..ill just keep on reading forums here, it helps me a lot.

still, im happy setting and building up my HT/audio set up.ill just have to be patience..and more savings gone..hehehe

It's the MoBo, I used to have the MSI MoBo, and I had similar problems, and from my experience on the Asus Mobo has no problems with it's on board audio.

Now the best thing to do is incorporate a sound card.

BTW...redundant thread, here's the link for the HTPC part 2;  ::)

By HD audio formats, you mean DTS-HDMA and TrueHD diba?  Then hindi kaya ng SPDIF maski pass-through.  You need an HDMI audio output.

However, some software players like Total Media Theatre 3 would allow you to downmix from HD audiostream to the popular DTS or DD para at least, lumabas ang audio via SPDIF connection.
