maaasahan ka talaga bro milken sa pag translate ng specs
kalalabas lang ng 3rd gen, 4th gen na bro yung wish mo (pero possible) hehehehe
considering this as next unit? :)

Hmmm... If I'm in the market for a new player, I'll seriously consider this one. But if I already have a decent NMT, I will think twice before selling my unit and upgrading.  The new PCH C-200 has lots of nice features which consumers may or may not need.  Here are some questions to ask before deciding to upgrade:

1. Do I need a bluray player and will the current NMTs update its firmware to allow connection of external bluray drive?  [Current NMTs support external DVD drive.]
2. Do I play lots of music files so as to take advantage of the built-in LCD screen without turning on my LCD or plasma?
3. Do I transfer files over the network from PC to the internal HDD of NMT to take advantage of the gigabit ethernet?
4. Is there a significant upgrade in the playback performance of the unit with the new processor installed in PCH C-200?  [The only way to know is to actually test and compare the units side-by-side.]
5. Where do I store my NMTs?  Do I keep it inside a cabinet? How far is the unit from me? Are there any obstruction between the unit and me so as to take advantage of the RF (radio frequency) remote control?
6. Do I transfer my NMT from place to place? Do I need a portable device? [C-200 is huge and heavy]
And so on...

I'm not jumping into conclusion now until I actually see and test the unit.  To upgrade or not to upgrade, that's a difficult question.  :D

Bro, for me gandang "upgrade or not to upgrade test" yung mga questions nyo...
My test result: Not to upgrade :D :D :D

1. Do I need a bluray player and will the current NMTs update its firmware to allow connection of external bluray drive?  [Current NMTs support external DVD drive.] No (considering expensive BD disc)
2. Do I play lots of music files so as to take advantage of the built-in LCD screen without turning on my LCD or plasma? No (I use NMT solely for HD movie viewing, hindi ko pa nga namamaximize other features e)
3. Do I transfer files over the network from PC to the internal HDD of NMT to take advantage of the gigabit ethernet? No (transfering files thru USB port)
4. Is there a significant upgrade in the playback performance of the unit with the new processor installed in PCH C-200?  [The only way to know is to actually test and compare the units side-by-side.] n/a
5. Where do I store my NMTs?  Do I keep it inside a cabinet? How far is the unit from me? Displayed along with other HT gears Are there any obstruction between the unit and me so as to take advantage of the RF (radio frequency) remote control? No
6. Do I transfer my NMT from place to place? Do I need a portable device? [C-200 is huge and heavy]
And so on... No (my current NMT is even smaller and maybe lighter)

meron ding butas sa likod ng unit i think 2 or 3 holes that's for the optional wireless N antenna..which you can install a pci card sa loob :)

Just thinking lang if it's really feasible to put an esata or even usb port in C-200 so as to convert it into a slave device to a PC for file transfer.  According to the specs, C-200 weights 3.7 kg which is heavier than average PC!  Baka mas practical pang PC bitbitin papunta sa C-200 for file transfer.  :D

I suggest an actual test be done to compare the transfer speed of files from PC to PCH via gigabit LAN vs. USB vs. eSATA.  If it can be shown that the transfer of files via LAN is significantly faster than USB or eSATA, maybe the gigabit ethernet in C-200 will be one of its selling point.

The pictures show that this unit has a slide in hdd rack in front that you can replace with an optical drive. If you're not using an optical drive it would be easy to slide out the hdd and use an hdd dock with your pc to transfer files and then slide it back into the unit.

Tsaka baka mag-update ng firmware ang Syabas at pwede rin kabitan ng external bluray drive mga existing NMTs.  Wait and see muna how they'll implement the Bluray. As of the moment, I can play full bluray backup with my egreat but I don't see the navigational menu of bluray which sucks.  This is one of the improvement I hope Syabas will address.  Tsaka I hope they'll support smooth playback of movies with more than 5 frames. (L4.1 pa lang ngayon) that's probably why we sometimes see stuttering playback in some 1080p rips.

oo nga, but unfortunately the c-200 will still not support L5.1  :(

and i think due to them getting the bluray liscense, i doubt if they will allow playing of iso (tama ba?) for full enjoyment of bluray back ups (including menu and all). and they are not commenting on this issue at the nmt forums.

what i really want to see if the new machine will carry new firmware, which can give tvix a run for their money. that alone will be a welcome development for me.

lets wait and see.  ;D

you could actually see this on the .nfo file included in the folder of a movie. as for conversion, im not so sure.
