I was surprised that there were no dedicated thread for this very nice Netfix series - THE LAST KINGDOM.
Walang bang nanunuod dito nito? I think if you liked GOT or Historical Dramas you will also like this one. Although this more palatable based on real events and with a feel good endings in every season (4 seasons). First 2 seasons were Co produced with BBC but the last 3 season are all Netflix.
Awaiting for the last and final Season 5, I think in early 2022.

I love this show. I thought this got better with each season (Season 3 was the best for me), as opposed to Vikings which seems to have jumped the shark middle of season 4 after Ragnar died.
Too bad Season 5 will be the last season, I hope Uhtred gets a satisfying ending.

Di ko maintindihan ang criteria ng Netflix. They got sole rights from Season 3 and hit naman ang Season 4, then they announce that season 5 will be the last season, and not all books from the series will be adapted.

Love this show too... ka tandem nya before yung Vikings... can't wait to see what happens with Uhtred and his gang

Same here but managed to finish this a few days ago!! Parang 2 days binge watching yun new season. Sana may karugtong pa!!!

Disappointed with Season 5. Di na gaanong naaapi si Uhtred lol. It's more of a epilogue and closing of loose ends for me.

Ok lang naman sa akin, specially since there's a movie coming to wrap things up.
What I don't like though is King Edward seemed too stupid and for that battle at the end, for me medyo forced yung situation where the Saxons were suddenly in danger of losing. Like ang dali naman nilang maitulak and biglang nawala yung advantage of the Scots attacking from both the rear and the front, dahil nasa harapan din lang naman sila...

I haven't read the books either, but as it is based on actual English history, I'm guessing we'll probably see the rise of Athelstan as King and the one who fulfills Alfred's dream of unifying England.

Was invested until about season 3. The Brida cult angle ruined it and it was all downhill from there. Overall the plot required too much suspension of disbelief.

Bride’s voice was what ruined it for me. I hated every scene where she was giving a huge speech to he followers. Like nails on a blackboard.
