Taken from abc.com:
"From J.J. Abrams, the creator of Alias, and Damon Lindelof (Crossing Jordan) comes an action-packed adventure that will bring out the very best and the very worst in the people who are lost.
Out of the blackness, the first thing Jack (Matthew Fox) senses is pain. Then burning sun. A Bamboo forest. Smoke. Screams. With a rush comes the horrible awareness that the plane he was on tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island. From there it's a blur, as his doctor's instinct kicks in: people need his help.
Stripped of everything, the 48 survivors scavenge what they can from the plane for their survival. Some panic. Some pin their hopes on rescue. A few find inner strength they never knew they had ? like Kate (Evangeline Lilly), who, with no medical training, suddenly finds herself suturing the doctor's wounds. Hurley (Jorge Garcia) ? a man with a warm sense of humor despite the desperate situation ? does his best to keep his cool as he helps those around him to survive. Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) is a faded rock star who harbors a painful secret. Sayid (Naveen Andrews) is a Middle Eastern man who must wrestle with the racial profiling directed at him by some of his fellow survivors. Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) and Sun (Yunjin Kim) are a Korean couple whose traditions, values and language are foreign and thus causes much to get lost in the translation. Sawyer (Josh Holloway) has an air of danger surrounding him, and his intense sense of mistrust for everyone around him could prove to be fatal to his fellow castaways. Michael (Harold Perrineau) has just gained custody of his nine-year-old son, Walt (Malcolm David Kelley), after the death of his ex-wife ? they are a father and son who don't even know each other. Locke (Terry O'Quinn) is a mysterious man who keeps to himself, and who harbors a deeper connection to the island than any of the others. And self-centered Shannon (Maggie Grace) ? who actually gives herself a pedicure amid the chaos ? and her estranged controlling brother, Boone (Ian Somerhalder) ? constantly bicker and must learn to get along if they are to survive.
The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But the island holds many secrets, including the intense howls of the mysterious creatures stalking the jungle, which fill them all with fear. Fortunately, thanks to the calm leadership of quick-thinking Jack and level-headed Kate, they have hope. But even heroes have secrets, as the survivors will come to learn."

So that's why Season 3 of Alias was crap--Abrams was too busy working on this to concentrate on Alias. This show looks interesting, like a cross between Survivor, Gilligan's Island, and some say--Jurassic Park. Some actors are familiar to me here: Matthew Fox, who was in Party of Five; Dominic Monaghan, who was in The Lord of the Rings trilogy; Daniel Dae Kim, who was in Angel, and Terry O'Quinn, who was in Alias.
J.J. Abrams should be happy; the season premiere of Lost got 18.7 million viewers, the highest rating ever for a drama on ABC since 1995. Now get back to work on Alias, J.J., and try to salvage it from last season's crapfest...

It seems you based your findings from the written article? havent you seen yet LOST? On my end, I was just channel scanning that I stumbled upon it... I saw a trailer which states coming up next "Series Premiere" Lost..
as I viewed it... Wow.. the whole hour I got hooked up and its pretty much a great start of fall viewing for me every Wednesday Night
I dont think its Jurrasic Park'esque as the creatures lurking seems to some sort of invisible....

I don't quite know what you mean--I don't have any "findings" at all, I just grumbled about Alias and quoted already printed stuff about Lost from several sources on the Web, who stated it was kinda like Jurassic Park.
-
Well nice way to grumble about ALIAS... having the topic entitled LOST
Anyways, last night I saw the second episode of LOST , well the mystery develops and slowly plots for each survivors are resurfacing.
All I can, this series seems to be some sort of Bermuda Triangle Survivors add it up with a Predator-esque creatres...
American Viewer, you can have a chance to see the first 2 episodes this Satuday 2hrs special airing at 8 PM ( LA time )
-

Sheesh...obviously you didn't understand what I posted, READ it again.
Lost was created by J.J. Abrams, the same guy who created Alias. While working on Lost, he didn't work that much on Season 3 of Alias, and as a result that became one of the worst seasons of the show, which annoyed many of Alias' fans. Get it? Being an Alias fan, I just mentioned it briefly and you took it out of context from this thread's topic, harping about it constantly.
Geez, why do I even bother...? ::)

Geez, why do I even bother...? ::)
I dont know on your end, however since Im watching lost.. might as well post some commenst about this highly rated ABC TV Series
-
It seems some mystery unfolds every week.. in the latest episode, it was shown that one of the survivors wasable to walk in the island (despite having a natural problem being handicap )
Creatures seen so far are a Polar Bear and a Wild Boar.. cant wait to see more twist...
-
Viewers of Lost in the US, if you miss the episode shown on Wednesday, try viewing the encore shown every Saturday Evening at 8pm, followed up by another abc TV hit (encore as well) Desperate Housewives
-
Lost is a great show so is Desperate Housewives, its fun watching both shows, they are both not run of the mill tv series.
-
I agree downtown, ABC bagged a winner for both series.
Last episode, provides yet another twist to the mystery of the Island and foretold another unravellig past from one of the survivors
-
My friends and I are actually watching to see if the producers are going to make the obese guy lose weight during the course of the show to make it more realistic.

If you happen to catch up the episode two weeks ago, the weight of the obese guy was mentioned.. as its been weeks they were stranded in the island however his appearance did not changed

Good news for viewers in Manila:

=====
I finally caught up with this show. It's definitely one of the best programs currently on the air. And I'm not a J.J. Abrams fan. I never understood the appeal of Alias beyond Jennifer Garner. But this is nothing like Alias... except for Greg Grunberg, I guess. ;D
Very absorbing, but the midseason cliffhanger is driving me nuts. It'll be hard to wait for the next new episode in January. The one aspect I didn't like about the show was The Island Monster, but fortunately they've shifted away from that subplot, for now. [END SPOILER]
Anyway, hope to see some action on this thread when the show finally debuts on AXN. :)

You and me both, Mr. Hankey.
Always thought Alias sucked eggs major. But I've been reading up on the buzz around Lost (aintitcool seems pretty jazzed by it) and I'm curious. Reminds me of an old old old TV show called Fantastic Voyage. Wouldn't know how far the parallels play out but I'm keen to find out. Only hope I can keep up with timeslots and all - - -a perennial weakness of mine that made me miss Carnivale :( which is why I'm a major fan of DVD box sets. ;D

i have always been curious about this show... this is good news for those of us who don't have the benefit of a kicka$$ internet connection or live in the US. ;)
-
This is great, it's coming to the Philippines. Now I can stop downloading the HDTV rips. :D
-
WOOOOOHHHH.....another reason to keep my cable subscription........
that and "CSI:NY"
-
that and "CSI:NY"
I don't like CSI: NY that much. There's a bit of NYPD Blue mixed in. (Heh.) I prefer NY's blue-grey color scheme to Miami's ORANGE one though. But Las Vegas is still the best. :)

;D Its near its Season Finale now...
and last Wednesday as I saw it.. the Mystery of the Unseen Monsters of the Island appeared again..
I loved the character Lock(the hunter, the crippled but mysteriously turned in a complete man after being a part of the survivors).. by far his part of the series' character storyline is the best!
Its near its season finale but so far the big fat guy character is not shedding any weight... :-[
-
every episode is supposed to take place in one day so technically they haven't been on the island that long. besides, they've had food from the plane and stuff that locke has hunted. Its not so weird for him not to lose weight.
-

The entire first season only spans their first 40 days on the island, so that means they're about 3-4 weeks in, and fat guy just started complaining about lack of wild boar. So let's give him a few more weeks on just fish and see. ;D

its not 40 days.. they have been in the Island for near 8weeks now
Take note of Mr Obese actions from past episodes
1. Pile Up Junks fromt he Plane Crash
2. Help Assisted Doc moving some castaways to the Island's Waterfall
3. Building a "Golf" Course
-

I wouldnt be noticing the change if I havent watching every Wednesday(and I mean since it started and its replays on the month of December). And every Episode does not show the "supposed" daily life...
Locke has hunted? you sure... ever heard of Boars moving out to another place as the tension of predators(the castaways) themselves hunt them...
Anyways.. I just hope the series producers do know how to continue the protein loss of mr obese dude
-
hookay, lemme get this straight. You're complaining about realism on a show that has people seeing ghosts, crippled people who suddenly start walking again mysteriously, and an unseen monster that randomly eats the crash survivors? riiiiiiiight.
Hey if you wanna see people stuck on an island and losing weight like they're supposed to, i'd like to recommend a show. You've probably heard of it, it's called "survivor" . ;)
Oh and check your facts, JJ Abrams and the writing crew have said on a number of interviews that all the action for the season will take place around 40 days or so and that the survivors will not be having problems with food. (heck that french woman on the transmission has been alive on the island for 16 years so i assume she's eating something) SO don't expect weight loss from hurley or the rest of the buff bodied cast.
Besides, maybe hurleys not fat, he's just big boned. *cue southpark theme song* ;)
-
its not 40 days.. they have been in the Island for near 8weeks now
Where did you even come up with that? Just last week, while talking to the Korean girl, Kate said "We've been on the island for over THREE weeks."
And as HQ said above, the fact that the first season only spans the first 40 days on the island is stated by the show's producers in almost every interview they give out:
We wondered what the time line was for the characters. How much time elapsed during each episode?
"The first season is the first 40 days on the island," (co-creator) Damon Lindelof replied.

We've already posted several bits of news that Lost - The Complete 1st Season was coming to DVD later this year, with a street date planned for Sept. 6th. Buena Vista has confirmed that this will be a 6-DVD set with a price of $59.99 SRP in the USA, and CAN$87.99 in Canada. Amazon.com (USA) already is pre-selling this for a mere $41.99 discounted price!
At least 5 hours worth of extras are supposed to be packed onto these discs, along with a couple dozen hour-long episodes, of course! Rumored to be among the supplements - Buena Vista hasn't made a final list available yet - are the following:
* The original pilot
* Behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the show
* Audio commentaries
* Blooper reel
* Roundtable discussions with cast and crew
* A Matthew Fox photography featurette
* Deleted scenes
* Casting tapes
* New, original "mini-movie" that reveals why the plane crashed

Premiering 17 March 2005 Every Thursday 9pm (PHL/THA) 10pm (HK)
Repeat broadcasts on Friday @ 1am & 12noon (PHL/ THA) 2am & 1pm (HK)
I just cut-and-pasted that sched from the AXN website. Shouldn't PHL and HK be in the same time zone and THA in another? Anyways, that's the sked. No weekend runs. Darn.
-
Shouldn't PHL and HK be in the same time zone?
We're in the same time zone, but some time last year, AXN gave Hong Kong a separate feed and moved ALL its programming one hour AFTER it airs in the Philippines. I still don't know why.
Catch the show tonight! :)

Maybe to edit out some parts of the shows? We all know their infamous cuts on various episodes of The Amazing Race. >:(
-
The first episode last week definitely hooked me on this show. Hope I don't miss an episode. Wouldn't want to shell out the dough for the first season dvd. ;D
-
I have to correct myself. After last night's episode, gusto ko na bilhin ang first season dvd. Taob ako sa storytelling! ;D
-
I think this week's US episode was probably the best one so far... island life-wise. Jack's latest backstory was just really corny, but the main island plot really had me involved.
I get so invested in some shows that I really hate it when they kill off a major character... :'(
(That's been announced in their press releases, so it's not really a spoiler since I didn't mention who, anyway... ;))
-

Yup, last night's episode was great--the last 5 minutes were superb. I thought Locke was just a weirdo geek, but everything changed at the end. Who knew??? ;D

so sue me for watching too much ET... i inadvertently found out who got the axe. i wonder what's the background story here... umalis kaya sya from the show or yung character nya was just simply written off by the producers? :P
-
my first theory is they're on the bermuda triangle. pero some fansites have tons of other theories--french nuclear bomb experiment, magnetic field, aliene experiment...very intriguing
-
I personally thought they all died in the plane crash... those who actually died went "express" to Heaven or Hell, while those stuck on the island are in Purgatory. Those flashback backstories they show for the characters all seem to imply they have some sins in their past they need to make amends for.
-
Dang! Read an article on CHUD about a character on Lost being cast in a horror movie set on an island. Inadvertently found out who's going to be killed off in the second season. Dang! Reminds me of the time I visited Fox' website just after 24 hit our shores, to find out more about the show. Of course, I learned that Jack's wife would die at the end of season 1. :-\
-
An interesting fact I stumbled upon on ABC's Lost website about Evangeline Lilly who plays the smoldering Kate on the series
(http://a.abc.com/primetime/lost/images/bios/bio_Lilly.jpg)
Lilly founded and ran a world development and human rights committee at her university. She has lived under a grass hut in the jungles of the Philippines with a missionary group, and has been a volunteer for children's projects since the age of 14.
Lilly is fluent in French and loves ice skating, canoeing, kayaking, snowboarding and rock climbing.
:o :o :o
-
Just recently finished a marathon viewing of Lost, up to episode 20. All I can say is that this is the best new TV series for me this year (so far). I can't wait for the multi-part season finale. 8)
I'm curious how will the next season fare; someone here mentioned a theory about purgatory--that's the theory I also favor the most. My own theory, however, is that the whole thing is just Vincent's dream while he's sleeping in the cargo bay. ;D
Hopefully J.J. Abrams doesn't destroy it like he's done with his previous series. I mean, if Milo Rambaldi shows up on the island, I will personally seek out J.J. and strangle him.

Josh Holloway is 1 lucky dude. His character got the 1st kiss on Evangeline's lips and the way he kissed, >:( :'(.
-
getting more mysterious... French lady is alive and weird things continue to happen... :o
finally, Sawyer is coming around and is trying to be more sociable... ;D
-
Managed to watch until episode #22; great stuff that showed the aftermath of the important events that happened in episode #20, and ominously builds towards the season finale.
But skip episode #21; it's just a recap episode that showed nothing new, just stuff already previously aired. IMO this episode was totally unnecessary and a waste of one hour. It's like they needed to stall the finale by stringing recycled footage, added some narration, then calling it "Lost: The Journey". >:(
Btw, I have a new theory: island monster = Vincent? ;D
-
The first few chapters are exciting but as the series go on....I got distracted as we have to wait too long to find out what's hapening next (where are the monsters??) ;D Overall, still a nice series :)

That wasn't technically the 21st episode; rather, it was a Lost special (akin to the Desperate Housewives special, also aired after the 20th episode) to let those who missed the earlier episodes catch up. :)
-
Evangeline Lilly is so hottt! :o :o :o
This thread's subject is "Lost on AXN", but I noticed you guys are talking about the updated episodes as aired in the US. So in that note I guess this would be my last visit in this thread to keep myself spoiler-free since this is the only show I really look forward to watching on AXN everyweek hehe. ;D
Peace! ;)
-
It's also tempting to get the complete season 1 series....but after thinking it over I rather wait & watch it thru the TV....teh suspense is killing!! ;D
-
I think most of what is happening to the island has something to do with the spanish comic book the black kid is reading...
-
There have been theories (http://www.livejournal.com/community/lost_tv/). :) The strongest evidence being the polar bear.
-
A Lot of Questions again were left in this Puzzling Season Finale.
Another Character/Survivor Died.. Blown Up?
There were closer looks on the "So Called Monsters" in Lost Island, What are they?
Whoa... whats with the introduction of "Others".. How can they have a motorboat with them?
The Hatch!, The Hatch!, The Hatch is Open!
The Hobbit is back in Heroine?
What will happen with the black dude, korean dude, sawyer after left out without their sail
-
A Lot of Questions again were left in this Puzzling Season Finale.
So frustrated isn't it....perhaps the answers can be found in the next season? :P
-
The season finale really annoyed me. NONE of the questions initially in your mind were answered, and they just added even more unanswered questions.
Buti pa "Desperate Housewives," at least they solved most of the major plot holes before creating new dilemmas for next season.
-
The season finale really annoyed me...
I think thats why it was entitled "LOST" ... It just got us more LOST :-\
-
I think you guys should remember that this is Lost on AXN and not "Lost as downloaded from the Internet".
Please make your own thread.
-
Oh, sorry! This thread was actually just called "Lost", and it was me who changed it to "Lost: Coming Soon to AXN" and subsequently "Lost on AXN" purely to bring attention to its Asian premiere. My bad, sorry. I reverted it to its original more generic old title, since the person who started the thread himself has also mentioned watching episodes more recent than those shown on AXN.
Sorry about that. I didn't realize my post mentioned any actual spoilers - just my frustration with the finale, but I really should've still enclosed it in spoiler tags, since that in itself was a spoiler pala. I modified my earlier post to incorporate spoiler tags. Sorry, a little too late, but it's the best I can do.
-
I can't stand Charlie, Claire and Kate, 3 of the most pointless characters on the show. >:D
My favorite is Vincent, who I still think is Lostzilla, heh
-
I can't stand Charlie, Claire and Kate, 3 of the most pointless characters on the show.
Really? Even Kate?
You really think Boone's sister Shannon has a greater point on the show than any of these three? ;D
-
Really? Even Kate?
You really think Boone's sister Shannon has a greater point on the show than any of these three? ;D
They should stop showng all those Kate flashbacks, it's making her character more unlikeable instead of the opposite. Just read an article on Entertainment Weekly about Kate, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who stopped liking her after her 3rd flashback. (Warning to AXN viewers, the EW article is filled with spoilers, so read it at your own risk)
As for Shannon, she has more character than the wuss duo of Charlie and Claire put together, but's that's just my opinion. Plus, she has Lostzilla now, oops... ;)

axn has started (will start?) a 5-ep marathon starting saturday afternoon. i liked the season-ender--got me begging for more (more answers)!!! rumors abound that the survivors from the tail will show up in season 2, despite the raft being burned, holloway will be back (to keep the girls watching, hehe)... i just hope the story doesn't drag on like x-files. i remember going crazy over x-files when it started... i sure hope we get to have some answers to the season 1 puzzles in season 2...
-
rumors abound that the survivors from the tail will show up in season 2,
Spoiler Alert...
Yup...there would be other survivors to be shown in the show in season 2. These people came from the section near the tail. One of those cast members would be michelle rodriguez who would be jack's new love interest if I'm not mistaken.
-
Whoa..no kidding...the SWAT girl will be in Season 2....nice ;)
-
I just hope she doesn't portray a tough as nails Latina again... she's been typecast in this role... Fast and the Furious, Resident Evil, SWAT... she played three different roles with the same character... ???
Somehow I am not so enthusiastic with her on the show... I hope I'm wrong... ;D
-
I don't know. I really loved the first season despite the "season finale," but I really cannot see this show lasting for more than two successful seasons. Here's why: Either
A. They still never answer any of the mysteries of the island during season two, and the audience will get too annoyed and frustrated to continue watching; or
B. They do answer the mysteries of the island during season two, and without the hook that makes the show unique, the audience will get bored of watching a dramatic large-scale Gilligan's Island.
JJ Abrams' shows (Felicity, Alias) usually fall apart after the second season anyway, right?
-

Come to think of it, I've noticed that nga with Alias.

am not a fan of these two... but i read (ET, i think) JJ planned for Lost to have 6 seasons... that's a bit difficult to sustain...
spoiler (not sure if this can be considered a spoiler, but just the same, i'm changing the font color in case you don't want to know who lives by the end of the season...) a new love interest for jack in season 2? i hope not, i like him with kate. unless of course the producers decide to kill her sometime in the 2nd season...
here's an interesting site giving a chronology of events before and after the plane crash. major spoilers on this site... http://lost.cubit.net/index.php

okay, now i'm officially er..lost. has the season finale been shown on AXN already? i miss one week and it was the season finale? Waaahhhh!

Not yet; around 5 more episodes to go (or 6 if you include the recap special, "The Journey")
Btw, Lost just got a lot of Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor noms for Naveen Andrews (Sayid) and Terry O'Quinn (Locke), Outstanding Director for J.J. Abrams, several Outstanding Writing nominations, and lots of Technical Awards nominations.
-
Really dug last night's episode where they explored Hurley's back story. Now I get why he was being show on TV (in the background) in a previous episode. Also quite interesting to know that multi-millionaire Hurley owns the box company which Locke works for. It's now becoming obvious that the characters (at least the major ones) are somehow linked to each other. ;D

Lost - Companion Book Coming In Sept. with Exclusive DVD!
Posted by David Lambert
8/08/2005
"One of our readers, who only identified himself as "Michael", tipped us off overnight to a really cool-looking item that is up for pre-order at Amazon.com. It is a Book, The Lost Chronicles : The Official Companion Book. 176 pages long, it ships on September 28th from Hyperion Books. The description bills this item as "filled with a detailed episode guide and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show, the fully illustrated book offers plot twists and backstories that will help fans uncover the mysteries of Lost. Also included are reflections and anecdotes from cast members, writers, and executive producer/creator J. J. Abram that readers won't find anywhere else."
So why are we talking about this here at TVShowsOnDVD? Because this trade paperback book also "comes with an exclusive hour-long DVD containing unaired scenes from the show"! With the use of the word "exclusive", it sounds like these scenes will not necessarily be among those included on the season set's extras. If so, then it seems like this might be something that will be a must-have item to accompany the 9/6 release of Lost - The Complete 1st Season. Amazon's cost for the book is $12.89 (the SRP is $18.95). Thanks, Michael, for letting us know about this. Here's the cover art:"

an American visitor to our office recently lent me his Lost dvds he recorded in the US... I was so shocked to learn that the episodes shown in AXN were edited by several minutes... :P :P
-
^^ That's nothing new anymore; I don't know what AXN's problem is, and it's really irritating. They also do this for episodes of The Amazing Race, and Lord knows what else.
-
yeah... considering some of the scenes they cut are essential to the story...
example: In the episode with more of Sayid's back story, they edited out the scene where the FBI recruits him to infiltrate the terrorist cell in Australia... he refused but they threatened to jail a female friend of his (I think this is the woman in the photo he carries around but I thought she was dead)... if he agreed, they would tell him the wereabouts of the woman...
In AXN, they only showed him at the mosque contacting his friend already who was a member of the cell he was to infiltrate... :P

example: In the episode with more of Sayid's back story, they edited out the scene where the FBI recruits him to infiltrate the terrorist cell in Australia... he refused but they threatened to jail a female friend of his (I think this is the woman in the photo he carries around but I thought she was dead)... if he agreed, they would tell him the wereabouts of the woman...
In AXN, they only showed him at the mosque contacting his friend already who was a member of the cell he was to infiltrate... :P
What?? whoa.. thats interesting...
-
Good episode last night. Very touching scenes when the raft was about to sail. Glad that the Korean couple made up.
For those Michelle Rodriguez fans.....
she made her first appearance last night flirting with Jack in the airport bar. She wasseated nga near the tail of the plane seat 42F to be exact.

deymmm.. I'm left puzzled again.. on the 2nd season premiere of LOST >:(
Im not so sure.. but the guy in the hatch is Desmond ( The one that Jack met during a jogging routine along the bleachers of a stadium), Irish? or an Australian? doctor...

isn't intriguing? you're right it's Desmond and I think he sounds Australian to me.
-
That was a brilliant opening scene.
I agree with MiniCooper, it's Desmond in the hatch, and he sounds Australian.
-
Did you guys notice that the "Quarantine" sign was on the inside of the hatch?
Doesn't that mean that the contents of the hatch were the ones being protected from the island? A warning to those inside not to go out.
-

but it seems that the only one inside was Desmond. Just a hunch, I think the reason why "the others" were looking for a kid is maybe.. maybe a solution to a plague or something?
Wheew... 2nd episode of Season 2 still left me a lot of ?????????? it started were season1 left off and it revolves in the middle timeline of episode 1 of Season2
Michelle Rodriguez is slated to show up next week ... :o
and maybe "the Others" ???
-
major spoilers for Lost (season 2, episode 6):
Shannon dies, accidentally killed by Michelle Rodriguez's character. :'(
noooooooo!
why couldn't it have been the hobbit?
-
yep, just as i was getting to like her character. was kinda suprised because the episode was doing a good job of building up her character, and then that happens in the end. tsk, tsk.
i agree, it should have been the hobbit. :-*

any idea when Season 2 will start showing on AXN?
-
any idea when Season 2 will start showing on AXN?
Next year, most probably sometime in February, which is also the time they air the new season of CSI.
-
Apart from a few details, this theory appeals to me (Don't read if you haven't seen Season 2 yet) (http://www.4815162342.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3377)
-
Finally got on the LOST bandwagon thanks to the Season 1 Box Set. I love it! It's a mix of X-Files and Survivor. How the hell did JJ Abrams come up with a show like this? And how did he convince the networks to make it? Galeng.
-
mukhang matagal pa Season 2 on AXN.. they just started Season 1 again...
-
I saw studio 23's new commercial for new seasons this year. And Lost is one of them!!
I've watched the second season pero until ep.9 lang! Super bitin! Have to see the next one soon!
-
i just don't imagine this show going for season 4 and the like without getting out of that darn island.it would become flimsy an excuse after awhile! ;D
-
I only have one logical reason why I watch this series : JOSH HOLLOWAY ;) (islurp! islurp! islurp!)
-
I know! He's so easy on the eye. And I love how his character's the Han Solo arrogant rogue anti-hero leading man.
-
march 6 na ang lost... yay!
-
^^yup, time to "make your own kind of music, sing your own special song..." ;D
You'll find out when you watch the first 5 minutes of the season premiere, so don't miss it.

watched the season 2 premier on AXN... Ang galing, Brotha!
still can't help thinking that the AXN episodes are editied versus the US broadcast versions... :P

And I know Im in the minority here but I hate Michelle Rodriguez. Not just her character btw.

;D
-
4+8+15+16+23+42=108
;D
I'm watching season 2 on AXN. Why the hell are these numbers a mystery? Is there really a connection between Hurley's winning lotto numbers and the code to be entered inside the hatch???
I wonder if Jin will finally speak perfect (?) English like her wife Sun... (oo nga pala Jin did speak English, but only in Michael's dream...)
I'm also wondering (heeheehee) if Yunjin Kim (the actress who plays Sun) had appeared in some of those Koreanovelas shown here in the country...?
-
I don't pay too much attention to details like those mysterious numbers. Knowing this is partly a JJ Abrams show, I don't expect him to tie 'em all up in the end. I'm just enjoying the characters. I look forward to get to know more about Sun and Jin and now, Mr. Eko!
-
From Entertainment Weekly Magazine:
When the writers came up with those bad luck lotto numbers they initially thought to put them on Rousseau's map just because they wanted to see a confrontation between Hurley and the crazy french woman - not because they had some sort of grand numerical plan. ;)

Just saw the season 2 final episode. Left me looking like this -----> ??? ??? ??? <------
They did answer questions like:
[spoil]Why the plane crashed
What happens when the button is not pushed/numbers aren't punched[/spoil]
But with happened in the episode today, I'm a lot more baffled. And Season 3 is months away. :P
Interested to know everything on Lost? Try: http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Main_Page --- it even keeps a record of the connection between characters, so it's a major spoiler site.

Just saw the season 2 final episode. Left me looking like this -----> ??? ??? ??? <------
You're not the only one baffled mam. I've come to expect it as the show went on. The writers come up with some answers but overall they do seem to present more questions. It really requires alot of patience from loyal viewers which some fans of season one lost in season two. A friend of mine told me that he's going to build a former Lost fan site if the finale didn't provide enough answers. :)
If you want more, I suggest you check out the Lost Watercooler section of TVguide.com: http://community.tvguide.com/forum.jspa?forumID=700000055

Just saw the Season 2 finale today. Arguably the best 85 minutes of Lost, ever. Harold Perrineau's on Conan right now.

JACK

SOUND:
-"If we can't live together, we're going to die alone."
whoa--that's the Season 2 Finale episode title right there: "Live Together, Die Alone" ;D
-
Finished the finale too. It's really best not to try and tie everything up although flirting with the idea is what makes watching this show addictive. For now, I'm subscribing to this theory (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,6115,1198842_3||1045714|0_0_,00.html). It's not that far-out and even more engaging.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I agree with the not trying to tie everything up part. I've never read any theories nor have I visited the external sites connected to the show. It takes the fun away. I'd rather go "WTF thats awezome LOLLOLLOL!" than just sit there an be all like "K saw that coming im a loser i shoot myself now BRB" when something really cool happens.

Anyone catch last night's episode aired on AXN? They showed the Hanso Foundation commercial several times...
-
Yeah...I was wondering what was up with that Hanso Foundation thing. I so want to do an advanced viewing of Season 2; but it would make my Mondays that more boring without something to look forward to each night. Hehehe
-
Anyone catch last night's episode aired on AXN? They showed the Hanso Foundation commercial several times...
so it was not an abc TV exclsuive commercial then?
-
^^nope.
Apparently, the Hanso Foundation commercials are part of the episode bundle--networks were probably instructed to air the commercials along with certain episodes.

-
Sir, on what channel will you be watching season 3?
-
The new episode was kind of [not much of a spoiler] a let-down. [/end musing]
Although the first four minutes were really intriguing, the rest was pretty meh. I guess it has something to do with the fact that among the Oceanic bunch, only Jack, Kate and Sawyer were shown in this episode. I sure as hell would like to know what's happened to the rest, especially Michael and Walt, whose names were left out of the opening credits. But I guess the good news is that Desmond and Henry are regular cast members now.[/spoiler]
And it might be a bit cliche, but the episode, although having answered some of the questions we've all had since the first season (like where those friggin' polar bears came from)[/spoiler], still managed to make less sense by posing more questions (like who the lady doctor Juliet was and why is she hot) [/spoiler].
-
Let me know when it will premiere on AXN. I missed it the last time.
-
The 3rd season's first episode was one big WHOAAAHHWTFOMG episode!! I loved it! First minute into the episode and I was already going nuts! Love it love it love it!!
Anyway! McF just released the picture of the toy in packaging!

Finally somebody rose this thread from the dead! Im beginning to think that people are losing interest in LOST! Hahaha I loved the 5th ep mainly because the character bored me to death. Haha. So yeah, without giving away spoilers, Im happy with the 5th episode, and yeah.. "we're next." :P
-
Bored to death? He's one of my favorite characters on the show!
(I saw the episode via BitTorrent download. Oh, the wonders of technology!)
-
Favorite LOST moment so far for Season 3: when Jack couldn't believe the Red Sox won a World Series and they beat the Yanks along the way. ;D
-
Bored to death? He's one of my favorite characters on the show!
(I saw the episode via BitTorrent download. Oh, the wonders of technology!)
Haha I dunno, it's just everytime it's his flashback episode, I find myself backing out and just wait for the actual island scenes.
-
Actually, among the Losties, I found that character's flashbacks the most fascinating. And I liked the character's speech near the end.
-
:D

I guess, a lot of people are just trying not to say too much that would amount to spoilers. It's hard to talk about things when a lot of people are not into it yet, and you just want to talk about it nonetheless.
Just wanna say, that I'm flabbergasted that that thing was even capable of doing that!!!! :o Whoa, mama!!
-
Turns out that tomorrow's episode will be the last for 2006. They'll be coming back in February 2007 with new episodes and will go without interruptions until the finale. Sucks that we have to wait so long.
-
What the FAQ? Last episode for 2006 yung mamaya? >:( Any reason as to why last episode na yung episode 6 for 2006?
-
What the FAQ? Last episode for 2006 yung mamaya? >:( Any reason as to why last episode na yung episode 6 for 2006?
It was a scheduling decision made by the network to avoid repeats. Firefly's Nathan Fillion guest stars in episode 6.
-
^
Nathan Fillion? Reeeaallly? I haven't heard about that. Should be interesting. I'm a big fan of the guy.
And like dobler said, it was a scheduling decision made by the network. For some it may be irritating to wait a long time for the next episodes, but personally I would rather wait and watch the next 16 or 18 episodes back-to-back without interruptions. Last season's schedule was maddening. One or two new episodes here and there, followed by one, two or sometimes even three consecutive repeats, followed by another two or three new episodes... It just took the momentum of the show away.
-
Nathan Fillion? Reeeaallly? I haven't heard about that. Should be interesting. I'm a big fan of the guy.
Definitely interesting. He's going to play Kate's husband [/spoiler]. :)
-
So I just saw the latest episode..
I really dont know what to think. The episode did not get intersting until the last 15 minutes. And the ending was a cliffhanger but not exactly the cliff hanger I expected. I thought Sawyer was a goner, but we'll still have to see. Hope not.
And oh yeah, the new people really are irritating just popping out of nowhere and suddenly going along Locke's adventures.[/spoiler].
-
Mmmm... Jungle romance.
And with regard to what alcobobaz said, I really wouldn't call the new people irritating, seeing as Kiele Sanchez is muy caliente. Although if the show's creators wanted eye candy, they should have just kept Maggie Grace alive. But I guess they're going for variety.
Also, I need some friggin' answers as to where Michael and Walt are. Or else I will write the producers an angry letter, telling them how angry I am.[/Spoiler]

While you were highlighting this, I stole your bike.[/spoiler]

Lost coming to an end? (http://blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/2007/01/lost_coming_to_.html)
Of course, that decision isn't going to be made by Lindelof and Cuse but, rather, by the suits at ABC. (It owns the show.) But while Stephen McPherson, the network's entertainment president, didn't exactly rush to embrace the near-term end game, he didn't reject it out of hand either and seems to understand that "Lost'' may be one of the TV shows that simply can't go on forever.
Not very definitive, but at least the article portrays the producers as thinking about what's best for the show.
-
So ano bang ending nito? Does it turn out that they're in a reality show? or are they just actors playing parts in a tv drama? ;D
-
So did anybody see the latest episode?
I wasnt blown away, but it's still good. Juliet's hot. Haha
-
So did anybody see the latest episode?
I wasnt blown away, but it's still good. Juliet's hot. Haha
Saw it this morning. Yup nothing special. Probably because it's just the initial episode on the show's return.
Juliet is indeed hot! She looks familiar. Does anyone know her name? She's probably the reason why Jack....
....decided not to leave the other island. He's maybe waiting to score on Juliet! ;D
-
That would be Elizabeth Mitchell. She was in ER, as Kerry Weaver's lesbian lover.
-
That would be Elizabeth Mitchell. She was in ER, as Kerry Weaver's lesbian lover.
Thanks bro.
-
OT:
I just remembered that Ms. Mitchell played another lesbian in Angelina Jolie's TV movie, Gia. They were both scorching there.
-
Ohhh....someone's destined to die!!!
And that British chick's got huge melons! Hehehe. Sya ba yung nasa CSI: NY?
-
I think that this was the best episode of the season so far. Cheech Marin was a great casting choice. And I think it's about time that we got another Sayid episode.
-
OT:
I just remembered that Ms. Mitchell played another lesbian in Angelina Jolie's TV movie, Gia. They were both scorching there.
No wonder she looks familiar.
Anyway, what do you guys think of the 'purgatory' theory?
-
If I'm not mistaken, that theory was dismissed by the show's creators.
-
Anyone else bummed at the fact that Sayid got this flashback just now and not months earlier (Island Time) when he was tearing Sawyer a new one? Awesome episode, nontheless. I was shouting "PRESS IT! PRESS IT!" when Locke was prompted to key in the number 77. Which I now realize is kinda sad. Okay bye.
-
If I'm not mistaken, that theory was dismissed by the show's creators.
Yup, heard about that. It seems possible though, even if it has loopholes in it. And besides, the creators of course won't admit to anything that will reveal the answer to our questions. ;)
-
nagstart npo b season 3?
-
nagstart npo b season 3?
In the U.S., yes. I don't know if AXN has started. I download my episodes via BitTorrent.
-
It starts soon on Studio 23. Maybe in May.
-
Finally after hearing all the buzz about this TV series, I took a marathon last Fri-Sat & complete season 1..and now I'm really hooked! Both me & wifey enjoy the series & have started season 2 na. :)
Tho some mysteries are resolved but there are still many questions hanging in my mind...will wait until I see the whole season 2 :)
-
has anybody here played the local lotto with these numbers 4,8,15,16,23,42? i have :P
-
Beware of the numbers... recently a guy who tried using the numbers got killed in a car accident... :-[ eh Joke lang.... ;D
-
Oh man...season 2 is great...I really enjoy it! :D
So many deaths but why did they kill off the tough lady cop? She's one of my favourite characters. Poor Sawyer. :(
-
Beware of the numbers... recently a guy who tried using the numbers got killed in a car accident... :-[ eh Joke lang.... ;D
hehehe.. takot ako dun ah
-
Producers have said that Lost will end after Season 5 for a total of 108 episodes.
Here's what's creepy:
4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108.
-
Yikes...it's the numbers again hehe ;D
-
So, the end for the show has been set (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070507/en_nm/lost_dc). Sixteen episodes each will be made for Seasons Four to Six, and these will air uninterrupted until their respective finales. This will bring the total to 120 Episodes, contrary to popular (internet) belief that it will end at number 108. Ehh.
-
The show has fallen out of favor with me after the disappointing second season, and I have only been a casual season three viewer.
But tonight's finale. was. simply. WOW.
-
Hmm..still a long way to go...waiting for season 3 :)
-
This show isn't getting the attention it deserves.
As for the finale: Wow. Just. WOW.
Walt showing up? Wow. Charlie dying? Wow. Jack's story actually being a flash-forward? GODDAYMN.
Although, a few minutes before the scene with Jack and Kate at the airport, I was already thinking how cool it would be if the show's producers would come up with a flash-forward episode in the future. I didn't think it would be this soon. I wonder whose funeral it is Jack went to? He was "neither friend nor family," and it most likely was a person from the island. Ben? Locke?
Sucks that we have to wait until January or February next year for Season Four. Boo.
-
I have to admit I lost interest in LOST(and I was a huuuge LOST Geek) by the middle of the third season but starting from episode 12 up till the finale, I have to say I take back all the 'Lost is boring now' comments that I made. The LOST I loved from season one and two is now back with a bang! The finale blew me away. The whole WTFWTFWTF feeling I used to get from watching Lost is back and I love that the producers gave us new twists. The ending --- OH MY GOD. Everybody that got bored with LOST like me should go back to it because it is defintely definitely back!!! Loved, loved the finale.
It just sucks that I have to wait more than 6 months for the next season to start!
-
I'm happy to hear that alcobobaz! Looking forward to season 3! :D
-
I saw the season finale.
I echo everyone else's statements: Wow.
It's right up there with the Pilot and "Walkabout" as among the best episodes this show has ever produced.
-
D@mn it! I so hate season finales. I was like "Huh?! What the pack?!!!" I thought it was Jack's flashback but....letse flan!!!
-
I was just a little confused regarding the "flashback" because he makes a reference to his father who is supposed to be dead. ("If I'm drunker than he is you can fire me.")
-
I was just a little confused regarding the "flashback" because he makes a reference to his father who is supposed to be dead. ("If I'm drunker than he is you can fire me.")
Two possibilities:
- Jack was simply drunk and angry and just blurted out his father's name.
- There'll be a huge-ass twist sometime next year. (Remember. Jack never found his father's body).

it did say MAN found dead..so juliet's out...
-
"Man found dead in downtown loft.... The body of J.... .....antham of New York was found dead shortly after 4 a.m. in the ......... of Grand Avenue.", ".................. a doorman at the tower heard loud noises coming from ....... ....antham's loft."…….. " uncovered the ........ the ......... from a beam in the ........."
-
looks like a J and a partly covered a...so i hazzard to guess it's sawyer. sawyer never really was popular among the survivors hence no one attended the wake and he was the one common person between kate & jack...hence their meet up.
j of course stands for James 'Sawyer' Ford.
-
Then who was Kate supposed to go back to? The one she said was waiting for her.
-
that was just a guess..maybe a new boyfriend?
-
here are the possible male J names....
James 'Sawyer' Ford
Jin Kwon
John Locke
Jack Shephard
-
wow! i finally finished watching season 3! what an ending!! i read through this thread hoping to know who died and who kate is going back to! i thought i missed something!! hahaha wala palang may sagot!! haha ;D ;D
gulat din ako na future na pala yun! ang why does jack want to go back?
season 4 will be next year? that's 7 months from now! ang tagal... :-\
-
some more question in my mind:
who is naomi?
whose boat is she talking about if it isn't penny's?
does it mean that penny is searching for desmond using a super advance communication device since it was an incoming transmission when charlie got to talk to penny?
-
point of clarification. are you guys talking about the Lost season which just started showing in AXN? or the last one before this?
-
The latest season. The one that just started on AXN.
-
in that case, it looks like i'll be tuning in to season 3. now if i could just figure out how this bittorrent thing works....
-
AXN is showing 2 episodes of Season 3 back to back every week--so those who are just watching it now will finish the season fast. 8)

LOST Season 3 Finale Review (http://geeks-united.blogspot.com/2007/06/lets-get-lost.html)
-
- There'll be a huge-ass twist sometime next year. (Remember. Jack never found his father's body).
Your statement just Questioned my Question ???
If you are referring to the Island yeah, I believe Jack didn't see his father's body in the box but a series of previous seasons flashback shows that Jack saw his father in the Morgue, so clearly he is dead..... But based on the 1st season, he did see his father roaming on the Island, Is it a ghost? Or the Island just wanted Jack to see his past ( similar to Kate, Locke, and Eko ).....But on season 3 Ben told Locke that the Box ( Metaphor of the Island ) can bring the one you want (or maybe fear, hate etc.) and Voila! Locke's father (and Sawyer's Con homage which I believe James wants to see the most ) appeared out of nowhere....The Question is did Jack bring his father back to life? remember in season 3 finale (Flashforward?) Jack mentioned his father while arguing with a fellow doctor "You get my Father down here! get him down here Right now! If I'm drunker than he is you can fire me." ??? WTF? did I just made any sense?

While Lost didn't make the cut for Outstanding Drama Series in this year's Emmy's, the show did get some major nominations:
Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series:
- Terry O'Quinn as John Locke
- Michael Emerson as Ben
Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series:
- "Through The Looking Glass"; Carlton Cuse, Damon Lindelof, Writers
Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series:
- "Through the Looking Glass"; Jack Bender, Director

I am watching AXN's telecast of Lost. And while initially, it felt like S2 all over again, it has indeed picked up as the season progressed.
having read everyone's rave reviews of the finale, can somebody assure me that john locke's motivations (i.e. blowing up the communications building and the sub) are fully explained in the end?

Yes and yes.
Why exactly is not fully explained but you can already form theories - - - and the last five minutes of the season finale throws such a curve ,you don't mind if all our old questions aren't answered (creators say they'll get to that in Season 4, including what the statue was in Season 2 and where did Michael and Walt go) because the new one is so . . .juicy.
Damon Lindelof says there is a clue that explains everything that's going on in the Season 1 Pilot. I haven't rewatched it yet but it's supposed to be there. He said it becomes superclear after you see the Series Finale in 2010 but if you sift through it and you're sharp enough, you just might crack it.
Oh and it's official - - Michael (Harold Perrineau) is returning to Season 4.

Drats, and here I was hoping that Michael's character is not coming back!
X44, have you already reviewed Season 1's Pilot? My guess so far is something to do with the comic book that Walt is reading.

Haven't found the time but yeah, I agree, the comic book walt was reading was one of the first things I noticed back in Season 1, how what was on every page they showed would turn up or happen in real life - - -like the polar bear. Green lantern ata yun. Baka may connection din. Hehe.
The prevalent theory is that the clue has something to do with Jack knowing where the black box recorder is located and telling Kate that he took some flying lessons. Plus they called the pilot episode "The Pilot" which is sort of like calling Lost "The TV Series" (redundant, obvious, unnecessary). . .so that might've been intentional. Plus, the pilot of the plane was missing, if I remember. All of this sort of makes sense if you see the season finale. Not much pero pwedeng itahi.
I'm not giving up on Walt's comic book though. ;D

cant wait for season 4!!!
akala ko rin flashback ung nangyayari kay jack, un pala future na....
so good thing nakaalis sila sa island...
eto lang tingin ko jan
baka si john locke ung namatay, nagsisisi si jack dahil umalis pa sila sa island para lang mamatay si john...
john got well there kaya nga ayaw niyang umalis db, pero wala siguro syang choice nung irescue sila...
and maybe kate is with ben now...
hindi malabong mangyari un db???
pero sa isang banda, hindi kaya ung pinuntahang kabaong ni jack ay isa lamang sa mga sunod sunod na namamatay na mga castaways???cguro 1 by 1 nauubos na sila at natatakot si jack na sila na ni kate ang susunod...or jack is just too deppress to think dat way...
just my theories...
un ang maganda sa lost, lahat pwede mo isipin sa sobrang dami na ng nangyari...
bring on season 4!!!

Australian TV Spot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6T2VeEpgWw) for Season Four, with a potential, major, blink-and-you-miss-it spoiler. See, I spotted something at the 43 second mark.
Sometimes I'm just too fricking geeky and curious for my own fricking good.
It could be a scene from a flashback, though. Right? GODDAMMIT.
-
Possibly a flashback. Actor said in an interview last year that he'll still be working on the show.
-
^
It turned out to actually be a flash forward.
So we know Jack, Kate, and now Hurley made it out of the island. There were references to an "Oceanic Six", and I'm not really sure if it means that it was only just six people who will make it out of the island in the end.
I'll be honest when I say that I stopped following the show after the disappointing second season (tried watching the episodes back to back on DVD to see if it might make a difference, but it still did nothing for me), but after watching the third season's top notch finale and the promise shown in the fourth season opener, I'm thinking the show has found it's footing again and I hope it stays the course until the whole thing ends.
-
havent been following axn lately since csi miami wrapped up it's latest season. any news as to when s4 debuts in asia?
-
Watching this this weekend . . .hopefully.
The Season 3 Finale was indeed a doozy. Specially the last five minutes. But am a quite a big fan of Season 2 and I have a feeling come Series end, Season 2's bad rep will be acquitted. I see a lot of connective tissue in there. Contained one of my favorite episodes ,too, and one of the best episodes of all three seasons - - -Dave.
-
Daaaaaaamn.
Seriously, another couple of episodes and I'll run out of expressions to describe how freaking awesome this show is.
We get a new super cute character in the super pale form of Charlotte, and we also get to see a photo of Mind-Reading LA Copy Guy from Heroes with a...
Wait for it...
WAIIIIIT FOR IIIIIIT...
-
Well it just got crazier.
See the look on their faces.
Something about Kevlar
-
more questions needs to be answered...lots of flash future...sino kaya ung mga oceanic 6?jack, kate, hurley, sayid, ben and another that im still waiting to see. or baka naman hindi lang sila 6...
last episode was good...with the amnesia and past/future situation...
-
Last Thurday's episode has ...
a flashback from Juliet and no flash forward
And not as good as the previous episodes.
Last two episodes remaining before taking a one month break
-
Question: I never had the time to watch the previous seasons at all. Do I need to watch them first or can I just jump to the latest season?
-
It might be confusing and would certainly lower your appreciation of the show if you started with season 4. So if you want to try it out, I would suggest season 1 first. It's the best season anyway.
-
So we finally get our six:
Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Aaron, and Sun.
Nice use of both flashback and flash-forward storytelling devices in a single episode. However, with Sun being referred to as one of the Oceanic Six, it was obvious very early on that Jin's sidestory was the flashback. Although I was expecting that panda to contain a bomb of some sort, given Jin's shady past. ;D Kind of a bummer though that we find out that Jin really is dead by the time the six get out of the island.
And it was pretty obvious but Ben's spy on the ship is finally revealed to be...
Michael
And...
the previews say that someone dies next week.
-
Also,
Lookit what Sun was watching:
-
Now that we've got our six as kings5504 mentioned, does this mean...the person at the funeral at the end of season 3 was not from Oceanic?
-
-
ok, i see...
diko kc magets ung name na sinabi ni kate...kala ko baby nila ni sawyer, hehehe
tnx
-
Tonight's episode was a bit of a letdown after the emotional high of the last two episodes.
EDIT: I thought that the last two eps were the Desmond and Sun-Jin episodes. I actually forgot that the second to last episode was actually the Juliet-centric one. That kinda bored me as well! ;D
And...
...in the "Arzt" tradition of meh deaths, Karl (meh) and Rousseau (semi-meh) bites the dust.
I was really looking forward to seeing what happened with Walt and Michael after they got off the island, but I found myself bored with the (Super)Michael centric episode.
And Sayid rats Michael out to the ship's captain after finding out that he is working for Ben (which is ironic, since he'd end up working for Ben as well... or is this part of the plan all along? hmmm).
Lost will be back on April 24!
-
Man, I totally forgot that a new LOST episode aired two days ago if I hadn't logged on at Yahoo.
Benjamin looked like a kick ass character all of a sudden. I just love the part where he's talking with the...and was cut off when... ;D
-
Ben + Widmore = CONSTANT.
Right?
And I dunno if you've heard of this site already but Lost makes so much sense to me now because of it:
www.timelooptheory.com
I know it's only a theory, but the guy writing that has all the right answers. I'm just blown away. I get less headaches trying to figure out Lost, which takes a the fun out a bit nga lang, since part of the Lost experience is getting confused by it. ;D Pero I'm so glad for that site. I got a headache reading through it the first time and of course have to reread and reread. :P
It's like a cheat sheet. Everything makes sense because of that theory and I sleep better after watching. ;D
-
Just saw Episode 11.
Familiar faces come back and how the hell will Locke and company do what they were told to do at the end?!
-
^ Move the island through time/time travel
Next week's the biiiig finale. *Excited*
-
for those people (like me) who are waiting to see this on regular cable, season 4 starts airing on axn beyond on june 10, 1o pm.
-
I just downloaded Lost S3 and S4 last week. S3 as a refresher before going S4 addict mode this coming weekend. ;D How many episodes na ba ang S4? Kasi na-download ko hanggang Episode 14 lang. I scanned all epsiodes and it looks promising and as usual, dragging which is why I like this series so much. ;D
-
Season 4 has only 14 episodes. The finale was just shown last Friday (Manila time). :)
-
Thank you for the info. Do you happen know why there is only 14 episodes? Is it because of the writer guild strike?
-

yup.. supposed to be 16 episodes for season 4..

Spoilers season 4 season ender:
When they started doing the flash forwards, I thought that they would be shown leaving the island at or near the series finale. I suppose it happened here because they're going back anyway. I guessed a few things and was surprised by a few regarding the finale. Happy to see that they answered a lot of standing questions though. I guess this means more new questions for next season.
-
I used to watch Lost but then I also got LOST> ;D
-
Ang dami namang spoilers. :D ;D :D
Episode 5 pa lang ako ng season 4 parang gusto ko na tapusin kaso 12 episodes pa eh, kulang sa oras. ;D
Btw, I scanned the last 2 episodes of season 4 and it's really very intriguing.
-
Just got to wondering recently, who does the voice for "previously on lost". It's not any of the current characters right? I'm wondering if he's going to turn out to be an important character later on.
-

It's the voice of Lloyd Braun. He's the ABC executive who greenlit Lost and was let go because he let the producers spend $12 million on the pilot.

It's the voice of Lloyd Braun.
Lloyd Braun? He's crazy! "Serenity now!" O0

Thanks for the info. Though I was actually wondering with regard to the character doing the "previouslys". If he's going to become someone important in the series.

I had to look this up. ;D But it was really familiar.
"Are you supposed to be shouting it like that?"

Finally started watching Season 4. Yey!
For those who have finished already, does it explain or show how the survivors managed to make it back to civilization?

the finale basically does that..

January 2009.

tgal pa pala noh....tsk tsk tsk :( :-\
-
Grabe! Naloka ako sa season finale!!
But I have to say.. I love LOST!!
-
I finished the whole season last night and what can I say...It was the bestest!!! ;D ;D
Kudos to all the people behind this great series.
-
^Galing noh?!
They're effing geniuses!!!!!
-
Yup! ...from the writers, director, producer, actors and actresses especially my favorite...Michael Emerson a.k.a.Benjamin Linus. ;D
-
Finished the season finale.
Something tells me there's more to what Miles said to Charlotte - - - about all the trouble they went through getting back - - - and what Charlotte said to Faraday - - about finding out where she was born, In fact a lot of what seems like throwaway statements seem like they would have repercussions, even Jack's goodbye to Desmond: "see you in another life".
I'm looking out for Faraday in the next season, I think he plays a pivotal role in the overall scheme. Of all the little mysteries that have cropped up, like Jack's aversion to Aaron, all have been sort of cleared up except what we read in Faraday's notebook at the end of Episode 5(one of the season's best): "Desmond is my constant."
That scene of Ben moving the island . . .got Guillermo Del Toro written all over it. Hehe.
And the shot inside the casket that ended the season, although you could sort of see it coming when the other "suspect" comes into the scene, was still hardcore mindfrak.
-
since part of the Lost experience is getting confused by it. ;D
I agree.
But it's also fun picking up clues, mulling over the details of each episode and trying to figure it out yourself, which I haven't but that's part of the fun ,too, trying to second-guess every misdirection they throw at you.
That site's great,incidentally.
I'm still massively intrigued by what Lindelof once said that everything was already in the very first episode, that it was riddled with clues that only make sense once you see the series finale. There were some good theories in the wake of that announcement. My favorite being Jack's statement to Kate that he took flying lessons before.
Now I'm waiting to see if Jack pilots a plane to look for the island in Season 5 . . . . ;D
-
I couldn't wait every week anymore for the AXN Beyond broadcasts, so I did a mini-marathon today and watched the last 5 episodes. Just when I thought this show couldn't get any better, they show "There's No Place Like Home."
Everyone was great this season, except Claire, who once again proved what a totally useless character she is. Of all the new characters, Daniel was the best of the lot--Charlotte's an annoying beyotch, and Miles's an a$$. Loved what Rose said to him: "I'll be watching you, Shorty." Methinks that Sawyer's a bad influence on Rose, LOL. ;D
Sun was a revelation this season, and my jaw dropped during the last 15 minutes--freaking brilliant! 8)
Michael Emerson truly deserves his Emmy nomination; it'd be really great if he wins. And the musical score during the 3-part finale was awesome.
-
Lindelof and Cuse have made public a few revelations about Season 5.
The most tantalizing of which is that the island did not jump.
There's No Place Like Home has gone down as classic TV in my book.

Scoop: 'Lost' Finds New Season 5 Blood! ;D ;D ;D
posted 07 August 2008 at ausiellofiles.ew.com
QUOTE:
Production on Lost's fifth season gets underway in 12 days, so that can only mean one thing: Fresh intel is starting to pour in!
Sources confirm that Team Darlton is looking to introduce two new characters this season – and they're both as mysterious as they are lethal. They're also coming in as recurring players with an option to become series regulars in season 6.
First up is Caesar, a dangerous, physical and extremely intelligent male between the ages of 35 and 45. Although his intentions are unclear, this much is certain: He's as skillful at charming people as he is at killing them. He also has a dark past, but, c'mon, that much was a given.
The other newbie is Ilanna, a European female in her late 20s to early 30s who possesses great intelligence, but who's also dangerous as all get out. She's alluring and apparently used to getting her own way.
What does it all mean?! Don't ask me, ask Jeff Jensen! Better yet, I will:
"Caesar, eh? My mind immediately links to Planet of the Apes. Caesar was the primate that led his fellow apes in a revolt against their human slavers. So... remember when Ben made that cryptic reference last season to an Other that preceded him in leadership? The “Hostile” who ordered the gassing of the Dharma Initiative, a.k.a. “The Purge”? Assuming that dude ain’t Jacob, could he be this “Caesar”? As for Ilanna, she sounds exactly like the kind of lethal lady Sayid would fall for. So I’m wondering if the dashing Iraqi is due for a new love interest, yet another lady whose true motivations will be in question."
Um... my thoughts exactly! Thanks, Jeff!
Casting for both roles is just now getting started, so feel free to use the comments section below to state your case for a particular actor/actress. Woo-hoo! Lost (scoop) is back!
-
already watched the 2-part Season 5 premiere ("Because You Left" and "The Lie")--it's a great two-hour opener; filled with small revelations and set mostly in the present, with flashbacks to "three years ago". this show gets only better as it heads into its second to the last season. 8)
here's a promo shoot of the Lost Season 5 main cast:

-
That irritating guy, Neil (love that part "we can't even get fire!" ), reminds me of Steve Buscemi. ;D
-
Whatever happened to Hugo's numbers that always appeared in the first season? Was it resolved with finality?
-
Nothing's been resolved with finality except where the island moved to . . . or more like when.
-
"I saw the first few episodes and there were already so many inconsistencies where all the writer would have had to have done is was check back to the previous episode. I have no confidence in them knowing where they are going. I think they are just thinking of weird things week by week."
--Alan Moore on 'Lost'
-
Alan Moore , like warren Ellis, has excellent taste in TV shows. He adores The Wire, calls it the best thing on Tv and wonders why no one's watching it(I think it's because it's good), likes BSG but is wary if the payoff will be as good as he hopes, thinks the world of South Park and Family Guy and thinks Heroes is a pile of cowdung, which it is. The worst show of Tv at the moment, except for Grey's Anatomy.
But I sort of disagree with him on Lost. Inconsistencies? I give. Man wrote watchmen. He's smarter than me.Still, I have a bit more faith in Abrams, Cuse and Lindelof than he does. We'll see.

Lost Episode: Jughead... in Pinas?
;D Desmond and Penny's Son is a Filipino Citizen
-
;D Desmond and Penny's Son is a Filipino Citizen
LOL, yes! I thought they were gonna pass it off as another one of those "south pacific" islands, but you just can't miss that huge "MABUHAY" banner with the Philippine flag seen on one house. ;D
-
LOL, yes! I thought they were gonna pass it off as another one of those "south pacific" islands, but you just can't miss that huge "MABUHAY" banner with the Philippine flag seen on one house. ;D
Yup!and the background chatter was in Pilipino! there is also a glimpse to Charles W's beginnings...
And what about the ever-present Richard!?
;D
-
4 episodes in, and this show just keeps getting better and better, with small bits being gradually revealed in every episode. Heroes should take a cue from Lost on how to properly handle lots of characters with good writing.
-
Episode 5 hits it right out of the park . . specifically Charlotte's reveal to Daniel. And man, what a cliffhanger!
-
episode 7, "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham," was excellent, and shows why Locke is da man!
Also, Broyles from Fringe makes an appearance, but as Abaddon, heh. And just when you think Charles Widmore is the villain, the real villain is apparently revealed...
-
I wouldn't say that. I think it's quite ambiguous who the real (or the bigger) villain really is. Widmore is just as much capable as lying and killing as Ben is.
-
now this is something i didn't foresee: in episode 8, "LaFleur", it looks like the Losties have been reunited...during the 1970s, before the Dharma Initiative Massacre. it's almost ironic that in a way, they become part of the Dharma Initiative. can't wait for Ben's reaction when he sees that the people he all killed are still alive--unless he and Locke ended up in another time.
and who's the baby boy that Olivia gave birth to? is it...Desmond?
-
ah dudes, wala b episode 9? enlighten me...
-
ah dudes, wala b episode 9? enlighten me...
^^No Lost this week; episode 9 will air this week, on March 18.
-
tnx dude
-
my head's still spinning from all the events and revelations about Miles and Daniel that were featured in the last two episodes...time travel and its probable consequences really makes me dizzy.
but great storytelling, even though it took them awhile to focus on those new characters; next up is Richard Alpert (Nestor Carbonell and Alan Dale are rumored to join the regular cast for the final season).
only more episode to go until the two-hour season finale; it's been a great ride so far. ;D
-
just finished episode 15, ilang episode p b4 the season finale? season 6 will be the last no?
-
just finished episode 15, ilang episode p b4 the season finale? season 6 will be the last no?
this week na ang 2-hour season finale; episode title is "The Incident", with Part 1 numbered as episode 16 and Part 2 numbered as episode 17. can't wait--this season has been awesome in terms of revelations and resolutions of past incidents.
and yup, season 6 is the last season of Lost; supposedly only Matthew Fox knows how it all ends.
-
talaga? only jack knows wat will happen? how?
without a doubt, this is the best thing on tv right now...
-
:o
Best season ender since season 1! There were a couple of reveals in there that I wasn't expecting. I'm also quite impressed that they haven't written themselves into a corner yet with several things up in the air and running concurrently. And so far, things are tying themselves quite neatly. Like how (a couple of episodes ago) Eloise says she doesn't know what's going to happen for the first time in a long time. I guess it's because Abrams has indeed written most of it already and not just the broad strokes. It's far less contrived than the way 24 feels.
It's gonna be a long wait for season 6!
-
kelan season 6?
-
i think Jan ulit start ng Lost.last 2 seasons :(
-
i think Jan ulit start ng Lost.last 2 seasons :(
Actually, Season 6 is the LAST season.
-
january? tagal p non!!!
pero malupit ang season finale!!!
this show just keeps getting better and better!!!
-
oo nga e.bitin nanaman.ganun palagi jan start new season then sa december lalabas sa dvd
-
The 2-hour season finale was superb, with lots of stuff tying in neatly with dangling plotlines, as sardaukar noted. What i didn't like was the introduction of two characters so late into the storyline, characters who seem to be the major manipulators of everything that happened; ah well...
talaga? only jack knows wat will happen? how?
Matthew Fox has apparently read the preliminary scripts of Lost's final season. It was also revealed, and I believe it as well, LOL, that one character is guaranteed to survive until the very end--Vincent the dog. 8)
-
The two character actually have either been mentioned or appeared at one point or another throughout most of the series. Some people theorize that the other guy who is not Jacob is the Smoke Monster.
-
The two character actually have either been mentioned or appeared at one point or another throughout most of the series.
yup, these two characters, Jacob and his Adversary, who seem to represent Order and Chaos, Good and Evil, Faith or Science, or whatever two diametrically opposing forces there are, have been subtly alluded to or referenced throughout the series, even as far back as the Pilot episode, where Locke explains the black and white backgammon pieces to Walt: "Two players. Two sides. One is light, one is dark." yup, Locke's backgammon game all makes sense now. ;D
it was just a bit jarring to see these two in the flesh, particularly Jacob's interaction with most of the principal characters at key points in their lives. and that theory about the Adversary? very, very possible, heh

Matthew Fox outlines Lost's final season
By Tim Surette
One of the only people who knows how Lost will end drops some information on what to expect next season, including less time jumps.
Some people are probably jealous of Matthew Fox's good looks, his fame and fortune, or his on-screen talent, but here at TV.com we're envious of just one thing: he is one of a handful of people who knows how Lost ends.
Lost producers and cast members have kept pretty quiet since the show's fifth-season finale aired in May, but Fox was on hand at the Monte Carlo Television Festival (videos here) and broke silence--and he had some interesting things to say (slight spoilers ahead, but nothing too spoilerific).
There's been lots of speculation about how season six will start--season five ended with Jack believing it was his destiny to detonate the Hydrogen bomb to reset events that led them to the island.
"The sixth season will start with [the answer to the destiny question], and I think it will be very surprising, and probably fairly confusing initially to the audience," Fox explained. "And I think relatively soon into the year, the two timeframes are going to be solidified into one time and we will be operating at a more linear time through the end of the series. Like a third of the way in, I would guess, we're going to get on one timeframe, and it will be very linear--no more flashbacks, nothing--it will be very linear on the island and sort of a final conflict to the end."
And if fans still thought showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were making it up as they went along, Fox says they'll become believers by the time the show ends. "All the little pieces of the puzzle that Damon and Carlton laid out and all those tracks that were laid story-wise early… at times the audience didn't have a lot of faith that they knew where they were heading with it," he said. "The show will prove that they did know all along where they were heading with it, because all those pieces will come back into play."
Jack's rivalry with John Locke isn't done, either. "I've always known that Jack and Locke will come head-to-head again in the final year and that I'll have plenty of work to do with Terry [O'Quinn]."
And what of the show's final moments? "I think the show is going to end in an incredibly powerful and very sad and beautiful way," he says. "I think it's going to be incredibly satisfying, and cathartic, and redemptive, and beautiful. Every time I talk to [Damon] it's sort of surprising how moving it is just to talk about it… we've been through a lot together, and specifically through [Fox's character Jack]."
As far as Matthew's personal life, after Lost he's planning to move to Oregon to be closer to family and get deeper into his new hobby, which is ironically flying planes. Lost will be Fox's final television project, as he wants to concentrate on film because it "gives [him] more freedom in his life."
Whoa--no more flashbacks? Linear timeline? Sounds like we're in for a no-nonsense final season! Lost begins its final season next year.

The 2-hour season finale was superb, with lots of stuff tying in neatly with dangling plotlines, as sardaukar noted. What i didn't like was the introduction of two characters so late into the storyline, characters who seem to be the major manipulators of everything that happened; ah well...
MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD
Just finished the season finale last night.
At first, I felt a bit off about these two characters, too. But after thinking about it and reading the internet chatter, it appears they've been present throughout at least half the series. The first one - - -Jacob - - -we know only by name, this is the first time we see his face. The seccond one , now that we know what his "abilities" are, has also been present, albeit under our noses and in different forms - - Yemi, Christian, Boone.
What felt tacked on although I ultimately didn't mind was the apparent . . um, rivalry . . between Jacob and the guy everyone calls Esau - - -and a double wink to anyone who gets the reference and wouldn't it be great if they were the actual Jacob and Esau? There's a nifty little easter egg that I think sort of corroborates this theory. The actual Esau sold his birthright to the actual Jacob for a pot of stew. In the beach scene in Lost, Jacob offers him breakfast and Esau says in an ominous, foreshadowing tight shot: "I already ate."
Loved the appearance of the Black Rock in that scene. I'm betting we'll see more of that in the next season and that some familiar faces will be on the ship.
Also, I wonder what Lapidus is a "candidate" for.
Also, how did Richard see them all die - -as he said to Sun when he saw the 1977 photo?
And what does stand in the shadow of the statue?
Overall, a neat season. The season finale I still like the best is from Season 3 as this was less revelatory and more of a cliffhanger.
Any theories on Season 6? My bet is reboot with memories intact.

Teaser poster for Season 6 of Lost, unveiled during the 2009 Comic Con held last July at San Diego:
It looks like everyone--dead or alive--is coming back for the final season. Of particular significance in this group photo is John Locke, who's located in the center, and is the only character with his back turned to the camera and looking over his shoulder.
-
Nice concept for a Lost poster - - -the image is actually . . . lost. Joke. ;D
John Locke looking over his shoulder - - -could be because he isn't the real John Locke as the season finale revealed.
Anybody who watches the show have any theories on what's been happening and what's coming next? No?
-
Jenna on 30 Rock: "You know, I met J.J. Abrams once and I don't know what this means but he said the island is just Hurley's dream."

The final season of Lost will air Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 9:00pm on ABC. Nestor Carbonell, Jeff Fahey, and Zuleikha Robinson have been upped as regular cast members, and Emilie de Ravin returns as a full time cast member.

Yup, its a review of the past 5 seasons and also the journey so far for the main characters...

episode 4, "The Substitute" was the best episode so far, and a showcase for Terry O'Quinn. Very interesting things happening on the present day island and even more interesting stuff in the 2004 alternate timeline.
-
any lost this week?
-
It's out. 605 Lighthouse.
-
This show gets better and better, and we're one third from the end. episode 6, "Sundown", sees the corruption of both Sayid and Claire--are they both beyond redemption? Also, seems like 3 factions are forming: one for Jacob, one for Smoke Monster Locke, and one for those caught in the middle, like Kate...we'll see.
Best quote this episode: "I think it would be best if you were dead."
-
episode 7, "Dr. Linus", has trounced episode 4 (The Substitute) as the best episode for me so far this season. If ever there was one episode that fully defined the word "redemption", this is it, and Michael Emerson as Ben delivers a solid, unwavering performance that's worthy of another Emmy nomination. 8)
-
Yup, the show is getting better and better. Episode 9 ("Ab Aeterno" - from eternity) tells the story of Richard/Ricardo and how he met Jacob and the Man in Black.
-
The Desmond episode has revealed what the "flashbacks/flashforwards" are about.
I have never felt this excited about this episode before. I cannot wait to watch all of the remaining episodes.
-
"Everybody Loves Hugo" (ep 12) was awesome--it was great to see the episode show almost everyone and not just focus on some characters...and I didn't expect that jaw-dropping ending. :o
So now we have at least 6 characters (Desmond, Charlie, Daniel, Eloise, Libby and Hugo) in the alternate timeline somewhat aware of what's happened. ;D
-
I'm sorry...I am not getting the latest season.
Correct me if I am wrong...they are showing 2 "universe", one where the cast is stranded because Oceanic flight crashed (and all the things that happened in the previous seasons). And the other one is where they all survived and living their lives back in LA. And in this alternate universe some way some how they all (well almost all of them) still manage to bum into each other. However, I still don't get the point ;D
-
Previously I had watched Lost from season 1 to 4 then stop. I'm thinking of getting the last final season but wondering will I ever get lost without seeing the other seasons first? :-\
The way jeyps11 describe it does sound confusing now that it has a different universe. :-[
-
^ Mas OK if you watched season 5 first. Connected kasi yung story with the latest season. Medyo magulo nga sa una yung season 6 but nagiging malinaw na ngayong malapit na syang matapos.
-
I am just enjoying the ride of the final season!
;D
-
the best thing on tv today!
-
ABC showed a reply of Episode 9: Ab Aeterno tonight. What made it cool is that they added a "pop-on subtitle" that tells historical info about the Island, Jacob, Richard and The Man in Black. This special feature might be included on the BluRay/DVD release.
New episode will be shown next Tuesday (May4).
-
I was struck speechless by the casualties in the latest episode. :'(
With only 2 more episodes to go before the final episode, parang kulang pa rin yung time, and I feel like they won't be able to resolve most of the dangling plotlines.
-
It's been announced that the final episode will be extended by 30 minutes. So now, it's a 2.5 hour finale episode.
-
I didn't recognize Allison Janney visually, but I instantly recognized her aurally. There's no mistaking that Press Secretary voice. :D
-
"Across The Sea" felt like an episode that was too little, too late...with only 1 more episode to go before the season finale, i hope that they're not going to rush everything at the last moment. so far, there's been no sign of sideways Michael, Walt, Shannon, Ana-Lucia, Mr. Eko and Juliet, and we'll probably never see them again. :P

Well, Sideways Walt would be next to impossible because Malcolm David Kelley is binata na. And is no longer 10 years old anymore. Sideways Shannon and Juliet are all confirmed to appear in the next episodes. I heard rumors of Ana-Lucia and Mr. Eko but none confirmed.

they could've used a similar-looking actor; i'm sure the Lost audience will be pretty much forgiving at this point, if only to see the final fate of these characters. ;D

What did everyone think of the Lost finale? I thought it was brilliant.
This is what I posted in my Facebook today:
Saw the last episode of Lost. It's intellectually wanting but emotionally satisfying. I didn't really find any answers, but I found closure.

guys yung season 1 dvd box set na for sale sa astrovision/astroplus ay 7 disc din ba tulad ng R1 release?
Thank you..
nalilito lang kasi ako meron pang volume 1 or 2 na nakalagay sa box

I do believe the R3 editions of Lost are similar to the R1 editions.
-
Full of emotion but lacking in answers. I mean, it's like watching the last part of Lord of the Rings with so many endings. It draws you in emotionally, bringing back memories that you now feel you are part of and makes you realize that you've actually shared a connection with the characters. I'm still confused but somewhat satisfied. Oh well, the series finale just left me a little...LOST.
-
Awesome ending--it pushed all the right buttons, and even though we didn't get all the answers we needed, none of it seemed to matter in the end. :'(

is there a replay of the final episode?

Well, that's up to you to decide. If you're Christian, you can say they're going to heaven. If you're Hindu, you can say they'll move on to their next lives. If you're Buddhist, you can say they've attained Nirvana.

haven't posted in this forum for so long. i'm looking for answers cos i'm still LOST... can i just ask a few questions and hopefully someone can help me :)
1. what is the whole story about? about jacob wanting to defeat his smoke brother but can't do it on his own?
2. why did jacob bring them there in the first place?
3. what is the flash-sideways story all about?
4. the dharma initiative has been on the island for so long, who/what brought them there? i thought only jacob can decide and bring people to the island.
i still have so many questions pero eto nalang muna :)
thanks in advance :)
-
1. what is the whole story about? about jacob wanting to defeat his smoke brother but can't do it on his own?
It's more like the Man In Black wanting to leave the Island and Jacob keeping him in. They can't kill or hurt each other because their "Mother" programmed them not to. So Man in Black tries to figure out a way he can kill Jacob without violating that "rule".
2. why did jacob bring them there in the first place?
He wants to find a replacement as Protector of the Island since he can't do it for long knowing his brother is going to kill him. The Island needs a Protector so that the "light" of the world will not go out and Evil (his brother) will not released unto the world.
3. what is the flash-sideways story all about?
The flash-sideways is a Purgatory-type of place where the souls of the characters go to when they die. It's basically a way for them to resolve their issues and reunite so they can "move on". Now, there's some confusion to this.: But if you listen to the speeech given by Jack's father. Time and space does not apply in the flash-sideways. Yes, all the characters you see in the world are dead but they did not die at the same time.
4. the dharma initiative has been on the island for so long, who/what brought them there? i thought only jacob can decide and bring people to the island.
They're simply people who found the Island and decided to study it scientifically.
thanks in advance :)

ah so that became Jack for awhile then it became Hurley with the help of Ben right?
They're simply people who found the Island and decided to study it scientifically.
hhhmmm but Ben was part of the Dharma Initiative right? and Ben was doing everything that Jacob wanted him to do diba?
-
Some theorize that Ben was corrupted by the MIB during his time as leader of The Others. Either that or Jacob thought the Dharma Initiative is doing more harm than good in their experiments.

aaron didn't die.. he lived, why was he also there with all the others? and what's with jack having a son? he didn't have a son?

aaron didn't die.. he lived, why was he also there with all the others? and what's with jack having a son? he didn't have a son?
as stated by Jack's dad, the normal rules of time don't apply in the sideways world...they all didn't die at the same time, and some of them probably went on and grew old, aaron included, but their time spent together on the island was powerful enough to let them collectively create the sideways world as a means for all of them to find each other again AFTER they have lived out their lives.
aaron was probably there as a baby because that's how most of them remembered him. as for Jack's son, he was also probably created as a means for Jack to resolve his personal issues on his own and allow him to grow so he could move on.
-
thank you very much for the answers :) at least now i get a better picture of the whole story :) hehe i'll post nalang again when i have new questions.
thanks again!! :)
-
that's great! thanks for all the answers.. that made me appreciate the show more.. the finale was truly emotional..
so only walt survived the island? or was there somebody else?
-
another question...
ano ba talaga role ni Widmore? he was part of the Dharma right? was he trying to save the island or he wants the island/wants to be protector?
thanks again in advance :)
-

Walt was young when he went to the Island so he wouldn't be as bonded with those people as much and he probably had a more important event in his life when he grew up.
-
another question...

Widmore wanted to exploit the Island for power/profit. That's the only reason he wanted to kill the MIB.

Am I the only one who cringed when we saw Jack's flying punch to Locke? It was so, I dunno, unexpectedly cheesy as a starting salvo for a penultimate fight scene. MAybe that's why iba nangyari when they wet back on after being cut by commercial. ;D

Got this from a site and I personally agree with it...Hope it can answer some of our questions about the show...
Well, Lost has ended. Unfortunately it has left some people confused. I felt like I had a good handle on the ending they gave and I found it to be beautiful. Perhaps my interpretation can help?
Oceanic Flight 815 really did crash. Everything that happened for the last five seasons really DID happen. It was the “Flash Sideways” in Season 6 that began to play tricks on us. Suddenly Ben Linus was a teacher, Hurley was the world’s luckiest man, and Sawyer was a cop. What happened? I believe the events occurring on the island during season 6 really happened. However, the “Flash Sideways” was a portrait of each character’s life after death.
Christian Sheppard told Jack, “Everyone dies, kiddo. Some take longer than others.” Therefore, each flash sideways took place after that character’s death (whenever that death occurred) and they were unable to move on until they understood that they were living in this false reality. As the characters began to touch and remember one another from “Real life” they began to understand that life had ended at some point. This realization was necessary for them to move on.
Those people who got on the airplane probably did get away and go on to live some form of life back in the real world (This suggested as Jack saw the plane leave the island before he died). Sun, Jin, and Sayid really did die on the submarine. Hurley and Ben probably did go on to take care of the island after Jack for some time (for as long as they could). Then, they probably would have had to find a replacement just as Jacob & Jack did.
But, no matter when they died (or where they died), all of these characters (on a long enough timeline) did in fact die. When they did, they became a character in their own alternate universe until they found each other for the sake of this unified acceptance that they were in fact dead.
Because Jack was the main character of the show the ending was seen through his eyes. His “Heaven” or “Eternity” was comprised of the people who meant the most to him as he knew them best. This is why Faraday, Charlotte, and Miles were not seen in his afterlife. The people seen in the church at the end were those closest to him over the years. This left out several minor characters (Dharma members, Dogen and Lennon, Jacob and the Man in Black) as well as leaving certain characters as they were when he knew them. For example, Jack never saw Bernard with his big Moses beard and therefore, in his Heaven, Bernard was clean shaven while sitting in the church with Rose.
Also, because characters like Sawyer, Sayid, and Hurley were so important to him, he was able to portray Juliet, Shannon, and Libby alongside his friends to ensure that they were as happy as they could be. Had this Heaven been shown through Sayid’s eyes perhaps Nadia would have been there instead with him. But, Jack did not know Nadia and only knew of Sayid’s once love for Shannon. Ben had accepted that he was dead, but was not yet ready to let go because in his alternate reality, he had everything he ever wanted (to some extent). This was evident by a relationship with his daughter, and a possible love interest in Danielle.
Besides him, Jack took the longest to accept his death and had to be shown pieces of this death several times before being willing to move on. Like Jacob said, “Some people you can just tell them what they have to do and they’ll do it. Others you have to let stare out at the ocean for a while.” Jack needed time to accept that it was time to move on, but eventually did.
Over the years Jack had really grown to care for all of these people. They were his family (perhaps more than his family ever was). He finally found his purpose and had closure with his father. Only then were the passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 able to move on.
There were a lot of people in the church. Perhaps everyone in the church (from the plane) had family members there and/or people they loved with which to move on. But, because we were looking from Jack’s perspective, we were only allowed to see what he knew to be real while we moved forward.
P.S. Ben told Hurley that he didn’t have to operate the way Jacob did as leader of the island. When Jacob and his brother (as kids) were playing, Jacob’s brother told him, “I made the game. Sometimes you can make your own game and everyone will have to play by your rules.” Everyone did play by Jacob’s rules until he passed on the responsibility and died. That is why Locke was able to be killed and why people were allowed to leave the island. Hurley made his own rules.
I wasn’t expecting to post somebody else’s thoughts, but when I read Joe’s I thought “wow he nailed it.” So why should I write it myself when I agree with what he has to say? I think he’s right about what the Flash Sideways were. I think the final meeting at the church was done that way to show these people in the after life at the point in their lives when they were happiest. And that’s when they were on the island. Because if you’ll recall, the people on the island were there because their lives were miserable in the real world. That’s why those smiles on their faces at the end, when they say their friends, were genuine. Of course, I could be wrong.
See, that’s the point of this show. There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to interpret what we saw. It’s up to you. Frankly, I like that. I’ve watched the show since the beginning and I’ve liked it since the beginning, but I’ve never obsessed about it like some I know. I rarely checked out blogs or Lost forums simply because I felt like if you overthought things then it would ruin your feelings for it. I have a good co-worker, his name is Gary, that was nuts about it. Read everything, told me everything he read and then got mad at me when I would say things like, “those are just theories. Who knows what to believe?” I also saw him hate some episodes while liking others a lot. All because of what he THOUGHT it should be. To me, that ruins the show and I always looked at it at face value. It’s a TV show that I truly loved from start to finish. Were there bumps in the road? Sure. Did I get frustrated at times? Yes, especially in season three. However, I genuinely enjoyed 95% of it and I look forward to re-watching the whole series again from the beginning especially now that I know how it ends.
I’ll miss a lot of things about the show: Ben’s character changes, the facial expressions of John Locke, Sawyer’s humor, Sayid messing dudes up, Desmond saying “brother” all the time, the Jin/Sun romance that really told an incredible story and of course the general hotness of my girl Kate. It took them the final episode to fit that woman into a short black miniskirt? Come on guys, it could have happened a lot more often. idiots.
By the way, the very last scene with Vincent the dog laying beside Jack as he’s about to close his eyes for the last time? That was pretty damn sad. I’m sure some people teared up. It was cheesy to some I’m sure, but I liked it.
Oh and did anybody find out what the real name is of The Man In Black? I guess it doesn’t matter. Or does it? Cue eerie music.
-
Ahhh...thanks for that post! Now I won't have any sleepless nights trying to figure out what just happened.
-
Well, that's up to you to decide. If you're Christian, you can say they're going to heaven. If you're Hindu, you can say they'll move on to their next lives. If you're Buddhist, you can say they've attained Nirvana.
was the flash sideways story just about jack's life after death? or each characters,, kate, sawyer and the others lived. what happened to them? ben even told hurley that he was a great number one.. somehow what happened in the church came after they were all dead.. right?.,, so whose FLASH sideways story really is it.. everyone's? ...

would you say that in the church where they all gathered was the time all of them would move on and not just jack's flash sideways story because the way they all remembered one another seems like the same time as how jack remembered everything.. it's like they all waited everyone to die then move on. because one needs everyone and vise versa

An epilogue of sorts will be included in Lost: The Complete Collection on DVD & Blu-Ray, scheduled for release on August 24, 2010. Michael Emerson, who played Ben in the series, hinted that we'll get to see stuff that happened during Hurley's reign as Island Guardian.
Aside from containing every single episode, Lost: The Complete Collection features over 30 hours of bonus material (from every season), plus one full disc of bonus material exclusive to the collection. The nicely packaged set also features some noteworthy goodies, like the replica of the island itself, an Ankh, a Senet Game, and a black light penlight (wtf?).

Holy crap!!! This set is worth getting for me just for that island replica alone--SOLD ;D

Frankly, I think if the people in this thread had put their heads together, we could have plotted out a better ending. Seriously.
Yes, it was emotionally satisfying, but I'm an avid SF and fantasy reader - and not having the mystery of the island properly explained just killed it for me.
-
^I wonder how much of that was because most of the good endings were already speculated and discussed to death on the internet. And of course they had to come up with something else. No excuse though.

Frankly, I think if the people in this thread had put their heads together, we could have plotted out a better ending. Seriously.
Yes, it was emotionally satisfying, but I'm an avid SF and fantasy reader - and not having the mystery of the island properly explained just killed it for me.
Lost is like philosophy and religion. Sometimes you have to draw your own conclusions. Sometimes you have to figure things out on your own. That's what I absolutely love about this show, that they really don't explain a lot of the mysteries to you. Some are left up to interpretation and some are stuff you really have to figure out on your own (like the polar bear mystery).
-
Yup, I understand that, but I like the Matrix (just the first film, btw) approach better. Straightforward story - but the philosophical/religious implications resonate long after. I got the feeling that at some point, Lost outgrew its creators and writers. The fact that they couldn't explain the convoluted mysteries and had to resort to becoming an existential drama with that parallel storyline in the last season really threw me off. Reminded me of Alias and how Abrams left a lot of fans dissatisfied with the whole Rambaldi arc.
But that's just me. I know other people who were happy with how they wrapped things up.

It's funny you mentioned The Matrix. Damon and Carlton specifically brought it up as an example of how they do NOT want to go about writing Lost. They cited the scene where the old guy gives a long explanation of the mythology to Keanu. They actually chose not to write a scene like that because they think it's boring (and I agree with them).
-
That was from Matrix Reloaded - and I also agree that it was unnecessary and detracted from the mythos. My point of reference is really just the first film, which answered just enough for the viewer to extrapolate a coherent backstory.
With Lost, even the role of the island itself is up for interpretation.

I like leaving things to the imagination, but with LOST, I felt robbed that all I got was emotional attachment and no explanation about the Island. Not that I would curse the producers or writers for leaving me hanging, but hell, I feel like they owe me.

Hope this helps sir ;)

Guess what...
'Lost' will return, says co-creator Damon Lindelof

That's not exactly shocking news. Disney owns the rights to the Lost franchise and they can do anything they want with it. That includes possible reboots, movie versions and spin-offs. Damon Lindelof simply says he will not be involved but he will not object to it either.
I won't object to it either. Damon, Carlton and JJ created a very rich mythology surrounding the Island that one could be inspired to create all sorts of stories with it.
