The epic drama Heroes chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. As a total eclipse casts it shadow across the globe, viewers follow a genetics professor (Sendhil Ramamurthy) in India whose father's disappearance leads him to uncover a secret theory -- there are people with super powers living among us.
"A young dreamer (Milo Ventimiglia) tries to convince his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar) that he can fly. A high school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere) learns that she is totally indestructible. A Las Vegas stripper (Ali Larter), struggling to make ends meet to support her young son (Noah Gray-Cabey), uncovers that her mirror image has a secret. A prison inmate (Leonard Roberts) mysteriously finds himself waking up outside of his cell. A gifted artist (Santiago Cabrera), whose drug addiction is destroying his life and the relationship with his girlfriend (Tawny Cypress), can paint the future. A down-on-his-luck beat cop (Greg Grunberg) can hear people's thoughts, including the secrets of a captured terrorist. In Japan, a young man (Masi Oka) develops a way to stop time through sheer will power.
"Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world."
It's a huge cast
Also, read that they leaked Secrets in a Small Town [sic].
Any feedback on the other two? Runaway and Hidden Palms
One series that I am really anticipating is Heroes. The series premier will be on Sept. 25 and here is the website: http://www.heroes.nbc.com/
I absolutely love the concept as it mirrors J Michael Straczynski's Rising Stars comic book.
I just realized I don't know how Chandra Suresh was able to compile that list of Supers. Did he have some kind of an international database of genetic profiles?
Next week's episode, Fallout is the show's so-called fall finale. The show will return on 22 Jan 2007.
Ah two months! In the meantime I'll just preoccupy myself with Day Break and I'll also start watching Jericho.
is epsiode 10 the last one before the break?
I agree that out of the four episodes i watched, the concept is very much like Rising Stars which apparently is also being developed as a series.
where'd you get the news regarding Rising Stars? Can you post it here? I'm excited about that prospect.
Sayang..di nanalo si Masi Oka sa Golden Globes....dapat he bent time, and replaced the winner's envelope... ;D ;D ;D
Based on this blog (http://pinoytvjunkie.livejournal.com/2007/01/12/), Heroes will start airing on Star World on 1/31, except in the Philippines??!!
....and believe it or not, she's going the way of Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan as she's going to release a pop album in May 8, 2007!! :-\
My most favorite actor in the world did appear in Episode 12!! Everything's all right in the world. A great episode to mark its return as this will prove to be a pivotal point in the storyline.cant get the copy of episode 12.....the file i get keeps on showing episode 11....arghh!!!

Hm, he was in 'Godsend'? Didn't notice it.
Heroes will be on Crime/Suspense. Clips/promos are said to be airing but haven't seen any. OT: The new season of Survivor will be on C/S too (not on S23 anymore, they lost the bid apparently).
Maybe you didn't see him.
Because he's invisible!
Really? All this time, I thought it was Mohinder Suresh.
Wooosh!
Me too!
Wasn't he supposed to have appeared earlier than ep. 12?
I mean I'm not sure if I can recall seeing him already when Peter had his initial premonition that HE was the one that would cause the explosion (Ep. 10 or 11). I think he was seen there laughing.
Anyone else bugged by the fact that Eccleston is listed only as a guest star? Because I think we'll be getting a Peter Stormare/Prison Break treatment here.
If The Invisible Man is just as vital to the story as any other regular (which I think he will be, even moreso than The Two-Timing Black Chick), he should at least promoted to regular cast. Listing him as a guest pretty much tells us that he'll be out of the picture soon. Dead by next season, maybe?
But I guess that if they indeed listed him as a regular and killed him off soon, that'd p*ss the bejesus out of me as well. So I'm torn. And what I just wrote is now completely pointless.
Carry on.
1 day to go til ep13!!! ;D
OMG!!
claire is a petrelli! ... so peter saved his own niece. coolness!
I would've wanted them to have sex first and THEN find out about it later. That would've been awesome!hahahaha!!!! that would been really........funny and awesome... ;D ;D ;D
Now Sylar has a match!!! This just keeps getting better!!! ;D ;D

Come on, don't tell me that the last scene was not actually stepping into General Hospital territory. It may have had that Ooh! factor but break it down into its basic components and that was formulaic soap opera.

the wax lion is on Micah's night stand.
Wasn't she supposed to be there when Peter goes Kaboom?
RPN 9 will have this on March. Seems like that they have gotten the full rights kaya wala sa Star World Pinas. >:(
naku baka kapareho ng CSI NY and Miami ang video... :P
you noticed that too? i was wondering about that, as well. their colors are saturated and the screen seemed stretched
episode 17 is available now in mininova (http://www.mininova.org/tor/598473)
Global Television, a Canadian privately owned television network. Has just shown Heroes 1 DAY AHEAD of the US markets. Cool 8)
...and that X-Files episode won an Emmy for writing and Peter Boyle's guest role. I wish Heroes' Company Man would at least get nominated for writing. (Just found out that the episode was written by Bryan Fuller, who also wrote episodes for Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls). HRG (Jack Coleman) has come a long way from Dynasty.
And I'm hoping this would also at least get noticed by critics. The script was quite adept in bridging flashbacks, which any writer will tell you is one of the worst plot devices you can use because it is easy to make it either cheesy or unintelligible. The acting was quite unexpected too. I know that Hayden Panetierre is a good actress but Jack Coleman surprised me... and Christopher is in this one too!
After that jaw dropping ending last week, this episode really kicked it up a notch. A great save since the three episodes prior to the last two were ho-hum affairs. I'm getting the feeling that the episodes are also being treated like comic book issues, where you have the boring fillers that actually signal something really good is about to happen in a future issue. This one is really for the Fan Boys.
and it seems it's going to be this way 'til the end of the season...
I wonder if Peter can use multiple powers at a time or he has to switch from one to another like Ultra Boy. ;D
BTW, would anyone know how many episodes are left?
I'm not familiar with ultra boy. But I did remember the invisible man telling Peter
"I will teach you how to pull them out one at a time."...or something to that effect.
So that makes it 23 episodes? Alanganin naman, sana 24 na lang.
If that's what he said then it may or may not mean he can only use one at a time. He may just have meant teaching him one at a time.
the next logical question would be when the second season is scheduled to air.
oh yeah... mohinder rocks!
but if he has claire's power... bakit may scar??
but if he has claire's power... bakit may scar??
But also potentially a man's worst nightmare, imagine doing the deed with "angelina jolie" and then when you are very near the finish line she transforms into "pokwang" -- aarrgh!hahahaha....thats what I would calll....hindi araw araw pwede steak!!! ;D ;D
5 weeks?!! aaarghhh!!! ..... what will i do in 5 weeks?!
more time for us to develop Empathic Power Mimicry, Accelerated Healing/Rapid Cell Regeneration, Flight, Mind Control, Phasing, Induced Radiation Manipulation, Precognition, Scizophrenic Assistance w/ Enhanced Strength, Technopathy, Telekinesis, Telepathy, Teleportation, Space-Time Manipulation, Pyrokinesis, Illusion, Invisibility, Cryokinesis, Dream Manipulation, Eidetic Memory, Electronic Data Transception, Enhanced Hearing, Intuitive Aptitude, Liquefaction, Mental Manipulation, Persuasion, etc?
whoa...5 weeks to memorize the big words hehe ;D ;D
Slightly OT but also related to Heroes... Would anyone know the PS3 game Micah was playing in his bedroom with his mom?
Googled it and found out that it was Heavenly Sword (i'm not familiar with the game, though).
Are You on the List? (http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=4885834462883321217)Nathan Petrelli here.....

WIZARD WORLD LOS ANGELES: HEROES PANEL
LOS ANGELES -- Tim Kring, creator of NBC'S Heroes, promised that the show won't become one of those "where the train engines can't get off the track" and that the series will wrap up some storylines before the end of the season.
"We need to wrap enough story up, so a new audience can jump on next season," Kring said at the Heroes panel on Saturday at Wizard World Los Angeles.
"There's a reason the pilot was titled volume one," added co-executive producer Jeph Loeb, who moderated the panel.
Kring and Loeb were joined by staffers Jesse Alexander, Michael Green, Adam Armus, Kay Foster, Joe Pokaski, Aron Coleite, Bryan Fuller and Chuck Kim, along with artists Tim Sale.
The Heroes panel was probably the most attended panel of the weekend at Wizard World Los Angeles. Even Marvel Comics panels played to rooms that were more than half-empty.
Other highlights included:
* The Season 1 DVD will be available in HD. It will contain new scenes as well as the original 72-minute cut of the pilot.
* Claire's friend Zach will not be portrayed as gay, at the request of actor Thomas Dekker's management.
* Loeb praised the work of James Kyson Lee as Ando. "It's a difficult thing being Dean Martin to Jerry Lewis," Loeb said. "He does it with courage and commitment."
* Sale said his art is done in black and white, colored by Dave Stewart and then blown up.
* An announcement regarding a collection of the Heroes web comics is expected at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
* Kring said there will be three "breakaway" episodes that hop off the main story this season. The first two were "Six Months Ago" and "Company Man" and the third will be the season's 20th episode, written by Pokaski.
* Kring said characters will come and go from Heroes, as part of his original plan. "A character doesn't need to leave the show in a pine box," Loeb added. "They can leave for other reasons and you can guess what those might be."
* Asked about any Heroes spin-offs, Kring said, "There's been no discussions of spin-offs. We're swimming as fast as we can to get these episodes out."
* The eclipse will be dealt with.
* Kring said it's important to stick to the premise of the show -- the discovery of people with powers -- and keep it grounded in reality. "You have to ground the aspects of things of the show because it can backfire on you," he said.
I'm also Mr. Bennett. The variables the test tracked where "Mr. Bennetts" excelled at can be quite disturbing -- according to the test, I scored higher than 99% of the population on idealism, nonconformity, and nerdiness. If not for the nerdiness factor, I'd should've been dead years ago.
Any news on when Heroes Season 1 be released on DVD?
According to Digital Bits (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html), Universal has it lined up for an August release..
my guess indie boi about peter's mom's........
.......power is same as claire. coz his father and mother don't have it. so there must be someone in the family who has it.
Was it implied that the powers can be similar to someone in the genealogy? I'm asking because Micah's powers are different from his parents.
micah's power maybe use for rigging the votes just to be sure that nathan petrelli will win or provide linderman some cash when he forgot his atm card hehehe
After all 'mind control' as a power has yet to be manifested in a character.
there was such a character already..mr. bennett's lady assistant who befriended mohinder suresh and who was also killed by sylar.
she was with the haitian dude when they captured sylar.
yup, one of my favorites too!
btw, why was matt's power still there even if the haitian was w/ him the whole time (or did i just miss an info re: the haitian's power)?
Heroes Season 1 will be released in S-DVD and HD-DVD format come August 2007...Looking forward to this set...will indeed have a nice marathon over the weekend. :)
is the haitian dead? i sorta like his power coz if you think about it... he can stop sylar!
yup, one of my favorites too!

Huh? That happened in the future. And I don't think you'll have to worry about that particular alternate reality again.
Yup. I noticed that too. But here's the much bigger dilemma:
How come Matt was not able to read Sylar's mind? He was there acting as President disguised as Nathan ordering him around all the time.
Yup. I noticed that too. But here's the much bigger dilemma:

The show has a lot of explaining to do. ;D
1. Hiro said he wasn't able to kill Sylar (thus the explosion still happened) because he regenerated (thus he already has the regeneration power of Claire), but...
2. Here is Sylar as President with the "LIVING" Claire.
What still bothers me though is how Sylar escaped from Matt's mind reading all allong. And if future Peter was really that powerful (he could stop time too), it would be more logical that he be the one to go back in time to kill Sylar. Why entrust it to a "Hiro" whose only power was to stop time?
Maybe the Haitian can turn his powers on and off.
huh? why not?
as for matt not being able to read president sylar's mind...maybe he actually did and kept it to himself. takot na siya kasi baka siya mismo patayin ni sylar. maybe it was more of fear. si mr. bennett nga pinatay niya even if he himself told bennett may utang na loob siya dito for hiding is wife and child....he did say he didn't want to come back empty handed...sa takot siguro ke sylar.
his actions were dictated more by fear than anything else
just a question, Peter's scar was a diagonal one across his face ... i assume this wasn't caused by Sylar's forehead-slicing in Mohinder's room incident right?
but if i were sylar, i'd kill matt too just to get his power of mind reading. and maybe the haitian's power na lang? too many choices.
well.. your theory is more palatable than mind.
but if i were sylar, i'd kill matt too just to get his power of mind reading. and maybe the haitian's power na lang? too many choices.
Di ba may power na si Sylar to dictate another to do his bidding (from the girl who captured him)? Maybe Matt is under this power of Sylar.
No, Eden shot herself to prevent Sylar from acquiring her powers.
Episode 21: The Hard Part
The cure for Cerebro may be in Mohinder's blood. The death of Ando may be the catalyst for Hiro to get the needed guts to kill Clark Kent. Mystique is still the top choice for ultimate wife.
If hard part is the answer, the question may be: What is waiting?
err.. mystique? the blue girl from x-men? yeah.. if you meant her.. i agree.. she's hot :)
Anybody know when in May will this be shown in Crime/Suspense channel?
imo dapat walang laban si sylar kay peter coz peter can do whatever sylar can do and more pa. i hope we get to see the sylar-petrelli battle next season! kaso final episode of the season na in a couple of weeks, tapos nun another 5 months of waiting till season 2 starts :(
May 28, Monday, 9pm.
I know changing one thing can affect something else (butterfly flapping its wings and all that) but I don't see how anything Hiro did could have led to DL's death (unless he's not dead). And if that were the case, future Sylar shouldn't have his power.DL's power is like that of Shadowcat. In this episode, he killed Linderman by grabbing his brain from his skull. He was still holding it while Niki was cradling him. What if he accidentally fused Linderman's brain into his body and in effect get Linderman's healing ability (ala Sylar)?
i'm waiting for the hd dvd release ;D

Im still on episode 15. Trying my best not to open the spoilers posted! ;) 8)
Heroes Season One
It's Official: August 28 DVD Release!
(http://herosite.net/heroes-s1.jpg) (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7322)
loved the season finale...
I was just wondering:
Can't Peter use two powers at the same time? Technically, he didn't need Nathan for that last bit if he can, right? I just can't remember if he's done that before...
Overall, a pretty solid first season, and I can't wait to get this on HD DVD this summer!
you serious?! i think that episode blew.
first of all, lemme just say that the writers kinda (if not really) gimped sylar in this one... he gets stabbed by hiro just like that after stopping the bullets from parkman, shot from his blindside too. c'mon! they were standing in front of each other and probably a good 4-5 feet away.
personally, i'm really disappointed at how they closed the season.
i hope they get better writers for season 2.
i agree. the finale was just so so.
its nothing like the "five years after" episode. it would have been ok for a normal episode but it sucked as a season finale. hiro did'nt even have to stop time to stab sylar! and nathan didn't have to fly peter away, they should have let claire shoot him coz he would have regenerated anyway :P
there were a few brightspots though. i loved it when nikki hit sylar w/ the parking meter!
I don't know how to do these "hover to show" things on the board, so I'll just post this old fashioned, simple warning for those who wouldn't want to read these things:
****SPOILERS*****
With regards to x-ran's comments, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the idea of Claire shooting Peter before he goes nuclear supposed to stop Peter totally from ever regenerating, since people with this ability tend to be left for dead if they got something lodged in their heads? So, if Peter gets it,meaning getting a bullet to his head, he won't even get the chance to heal. I think, their original plan was to shoot him in the back of his head, but at the Plaza, they were face to face with each other. So I think, it seems that it doesn't matter if it's on the back or on the front, just as long as something gets in their noggin.
Also, what was Nikki's beef with Sylar? Can't seem to remember they ever crossed paths. So, she just charged in the Peter-Sylar skirmish and slammed Sylar with a parking meter? For what? Out of the goodness of her heart to help Peter? Or was she holding a grduge against the villain as well? Can't seem to recall.
spoiler alert
i don't think Peter is dead. it's not like the nuclear man's power makes him blow up to bits. if going nuclear kills him then he wouldn't have been in the 5 years after episode.
I can think of two things that will happen when Peter gets shot by a gun: (1) the bullet would totally pass through him, temporarily injuring him with a gunshot wound but he would be totally regenerated coz there's no obstruction; and (2) the bullet would hit a hard part (skeleton) and would get lodged inside of him, this has happened to Claire in the episode "Company Man" and remember that Claire just spat out the bullet after regenerating. So yes, I see Peter regenerating in both instances bringing us back into a loop. A tranquilizer would have serve the purpose better than a gun (Once again as seen in "Company Man"), but I guess the writers opt not to rehash the same trick again.
Nikki saw Sylar using his power to stop Parkman and deduced that Sylar is the bad guy. And they were also together with Molly and Mohinder in the elevator, enough time for both of them to keep Micah's family in the loop.
Here's a possible reason (taken from a very good review in TV.com):
Peter was fighting with every fiber of his (Hero) being against the runaway nuclear reaction. He could not divert any of his energy or concentration to another ability without losing control and immediately detonating. In fact, if he had launched himself in the air and climbed to 10,000 feet before detonating, the devastating effect on the city would have been far worse than detonating on the ground. Hint: This is why nuclear weapons are detonated at altitude instead of at surface level.
-somewhat of a spoiler-what i meant was if the explosion could kill him he wouldn't have been in the alternate universe.
That 5 years after episode is an "alternate" universe, in their world the explosion happened. and kendo is dead.
And here's the reason straight from the creator's mouth:
Tim Kring On Why Peter Didn't Fly Away
Posted by HeroesFan on 2007/5/24 12:41:25 (410 reads)
So one of the big questions/debates going on in the forums since the finale is "why didn't Peter just fly away by himself before he exploded"?
Here is an answer straight from the horses mouth.
Quote:
How do you stop an exploding man? Apparently, the best way is to fly him up as high as he can go, and let him explode to his heart's content.
Certainly not the most implausible way to end the first season of NBC's hit show "Heroes," but fans were left wondering why Milo Ventimiglia's character of Peter Petrelli -- who can absorb the powers of other heroes he comes in contact with -- simply didn't fly himself away when he started to go nuclear. Instead, it was up to his character's brother, newly elected congressman Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar), to use his own flying ability to rescue his brother -- and the rest of New York City.
"You know, theoretically, you're not supposed to be thinking about that," series creator Tim Kring told TV Guide's Matt Webb Mitovich and Michael Logan. However, Kring did prove correct many theories following Monday's airing that Peter was so distracted by the fact he was about to explode that he didn't have the energy or the attention span to use an of his other abilities.
Of course, that's trying to find a way to explain an action from a story standpoint. But from an entertainment factor, Kring admitted that he was much more interested in having Nathan -- who had become somewhat of a bad guy on the show in recent weeks -- to save the day.
"Yes, I will admit that there's a very tiny window of logic there, but what can I say?" Kring said. "It requires the proverbial suspension of disbelief."

Excellent research work, pendrell!
So it was just done for a dramatic purpose. I've just think of another 'loophole(?)', if you may call it that. Sylar was able to control Ted's power... it's because his ability is to know how things work. But Peter has been in contact with Sylar numerous times, how come he hasn't used that ability. I think that Sylar's ability is not an active ability so in my opinion no need to be learned by Peter. Did I just make sense or am I grasping at straws with this? ;D

I think Sylar also had enough time to learn how to control ted's powers (there was this episode where he was overlooking the city and practicing those nuclear bursts in his hand).
Love interest for Hiro???
who in some circles is rumored to be the same person as Hiro's dad.

mukha nga. parang si george takei yung nasa likod ng helmet. o namalikmata lang ako...
By the way, I've seen both the Pilot that appeared a few months ago and the Pilot that was broadcast on TV -- there were a number of changes between the two, most notably in the scene where they saw the artist on the floor (the original pilot had a far more gruesome scene) and in the final scene between the two brothers.
Oh, so that's why they changed it. I was also guessing as much. It will be hard to reconcile a "prophetic" painter with a missing hand. It was a cool concept though.
s2e1 was so-so, a little boring at times but will still let you stay focused at some
-hiros japanese hero and idol turns out to be a white guy
-little molly seems to have a nasty temper
- this really shouldnt be a surprise but the brothers live, flying man has grown a beard and exploding man is heavily scarred
They must have really regretted what they did at the finale. The 'sacrifice' made by the Petrellis are now insignificant. Hiro did not really kill a man.
I'm also not disappointed. Just glad to have the show back. I thought they did a good job reintroducing the characters. I'm also eager to see how 'Veronica Mars' gets in the mix.
Really regret I miss out this wonderful series in the TV. Finally got the DVD season 1, thus started the marathon 2 nights ago. Now chapter 7 na....hope to finish all chapters by this Sun. ;D
A heroes weekend bro paul ;D
Phew just finished season 1 after 5 days & 4 nights. :D Really enjoy it. Nice ending with all the heroes crossed paths.
Hiro has never fail to make me laugh. His future self is one serious looking guy tho.. ;D
It's good to see Nikki kicked Sylar's butt!I was expecting more action from Nikki (ops I meant Jessica) who would turn violent & shooting her way in at Sylar ;D
Since Sylar doesn't posses healing or regeneration power how on earth did he survive Hiro's attack? ??? Probbaly it will be explained in the next season. I'm dyin gto know who's the other villain that will be much worse than Sylar...could it be Linderman still alive & turns really bad @$$? :P
Ever so slightly disappointing premiere.
But with the only casualty being an hour of my time, why gripe? No shark jumping here. . .not yet. My very slight disappointment stems not from lackadaisical pacing - - -go back to the first season and you'll find that the favors that kind of slow burn pacing, and frankly, so do I. Character over wall-to-wall action anytime. Nope it's the whiff of rehash becoming even more rank. Halfway through Heroes 1 I've sort of acclimatized to the idea that Tim Kring will be ripping off comicbook stroylines for the entire series' run and I've learned to live with it. Just wished Jeph Loeb would help him finesse his appropriating a bit. Maybe over the season. Not here, though.
And like last season's wholesale allusions to Watchmen, X Men: Days of Future Past, Rising Stars, Civil War, this is stuff which any self-respecting comic/TV/sci fic geek would see coming a mile away - - - the serial (or what looks like a potential serial) killing of the old guard (who are sort of like the Minutemen to the current group's Watchmen at that) is ,of course, out of Rising Stars but more tellingly from Watchmen (is there an Ozymandias out there orchestrating all this?) , Hiro re-enacting the Kenzei legend is , of course, straight out of Michael Moorcock's Behold the Man if the arc does follow that trajectory which it most likely will knowing Tim Kring and of course, anybody who catches Suresh's speech in the beginning knows that's Marvel's Legacy Virus story arc they're about to tap into - - - even Adrian Pasdar's beard reminds me of Matthew Fox's beard from the last five minutes of last season's Lost, which sort of stole the thunder from Heroes for me.
Still, it was OK. Not wetting my pants and getting all giddy but will be here for the duration just to see how things pan out. One good thing is that we're spared Ali Larter's awful acting, at least for this episode. Also, the dialogue seems to be better-written this season. And then there's Stephen Tobolowsky turning that spoon into gold.
Ali's hot. Just a bad actress. Or at least badly directed. Hope she steps up her game in Season 2. She's the series' Eliza Cuthbert, pure eyecandy with no chops.
You're right about Behold the Man , dewey. I can imagine the Weitz brothers doing Elric proud , they know their stuff. Just hope that gets people to read Moorcock the way the ads for the Golden Compass movie are making some ( a few, at least) lemmings. . .I mean, people read the Pullman books. Unlikely but we can all hope.
Waiting for someone to take a stab at Moorcock's Jerry Cornelius myself. Or did Buckaroo Banzai already do that in an offhand way?
A Jerry Cornelius movie - don't think so. Too British - baka babauyin naman ng mga brain-dead na Hollywood studio execs iyan like what they did with the Thunderbirds franchise or even Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy (aka HG2G).
Saw the second episode of the second season. It's kinda' picking up from where the first season left off.
Could be his amnesia, hankey.
But then again he already disarmed the two thugs so that's a feeble excuse. Still an excuse, though (different from an actual reason) and one that Kring is most likely falling back on, if pressed.
It's these lapses into silliness that stops me from really loving this series. It's not one of those things where you have to shut your brain off (thank God) but most of the time it isn't that bright or sharp.
This was a better paced episode , though, and that flying toe was just a hoot!
But then again he already disarmed the two thugs so that's a feeble excuse.
Exactly. He just used that power on two criminals to help the girl, and with great control - so "amnesia" really isn't something I'd accept as an explanation. Like I said - I thought it was just... stupid! ;D
You guys still having fun watching? Or is making sense of every little detail more important?
Yes and yes,dobler.
Parang tinga lang minsan yung inconsistencies, takes a little away from fully enjoying the cuisine, so to speak, but you can still taste the flavor. Does that make sense? :)
umm, isnt heroes at Solar-Crime/Suspense channel still at Season 1 (part where Isaac tried to shoot Peter)
Is season 2 being shown in the Solar-Crime/Suspense channel na? Which day & what time is the show? :)
It's a fun, often dynamic, show that plays around with interesting concepts . . . but lapses in logic can't be tied up like plot strands or ironed out over a season. For example,Peter COULD HAVE/SHOULD HAVE disarmed the bad guy and gotten his personal stuff. But that would probably mean losing some kind of buildup (i.e. viewer torture) over a few episodes. So there could be a fragile scaffolding to prop up why Peter DIDN'T do what he didn't do, all for the sake of drawing out the situation. Fair enough. Name of the game in Network TV. Heroes isn't an HBO series after all. Maybe Kring's invoking creative license. Sloppy writing, whichever way you cut it, though, and a little annoying- - -as my friend who's a major fan of the show says: may butas, kita tali. But I still follow the thing like church.
i truly enjoy the watching heroes. i tend not to over analyze stuff regarding the series. it is a show after all where there's a flying man and a flying boy. how realistic really can it get.
A bit off topic but West, the flying boy and Claire's love interest played Hunter, Jan Levinson's assistant in The Office. "Kindred" was written by JJ Philbin formerly of The O.C., daughter of Regis and wife of Michael Shur, a writer/producer also of The Office.
I enjoy it,too. And I don't think it's overanalyzing. I think Tim Kring doesn't want his audience to shut off their brains while watching his show, the way they overeagerly do so at a Bruckheimer flick. So I don't shut it off and these little nits nag at me as a result. Nobody goes into a piece of superhero fiction - - or any piece of speculative fiction for that matter- - - expecting dry realism. There's a lot of suspension of disbelief going on from the get-go and you plunge into something like this with that mindset or else. . .well, you're f**ked. But this is a show about how people with unreal superpowers would fare in the real world. And it becomes something of a disservice to one's imagination and intelligence when such things as those little lapses in logic occur. I mean, if we're willing to accept that things don't have to make any kind of logical sense whatsoever because it is, after all, a series "with a flying man and a flying boy", then Tim Kring and his cohorts shouldn't bother, should they? Nor should the smarter, more sharply written Marvel and DC superhero comics out there. Have Claire's SUV transform into a robot that goes back in time and fetches Hiro for the season ender battle against the 40 ft tall Sylar in downtown Shibuya - - just because it's kewl. It's a superhero TV show - - -realism isn't crucial after all, right? ;)
Sloppy writing is the culprit here, which is fine, even impeccably-written shows like West Wing and Deadwood had instances of that and sometimes you can live with it, sometimes you can't. Sloppy writing - - -or that nuclear blast made Peter monumentally stupid. ;D
The American Office - - -a show that took the efficient "6 to 8 episode per season" model of the British original and stretched it out to . . what, is it 4 seasons already? Still funny in spots but shows you how these network moneymen don't know when to stop.
I still feel the show is the best sitcom currently on air, but I really think making it an hour-long show for an entire month is too much. The episodes would be so much tighter and funnier if they had stuck to the half hour format. I mean, like, Dwight Schrute is funny in small doses. An hour of a freaky character who killed a live cat by placing it in a freezer without any remorse gets a bit too grating.
Bell will make her first “Heroes” appearance in October. She’ll play Elle, a character described as a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.’s past and the future of Claire. Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it’s unclear whether she’s good or bad.
Question: Did Matt already know last season that the baby his wife was carrying wasn't his, or was that just revealed in this week's episode? I really don't remember it from last year.
I just realized that without a Peter storyline, I enjoyed this week's episode so much more! ;D
Well, that's just me. Yep, maybe the writers have some rabbits on a hat that they'll pull later on.
Oh, I stand corrected then. Hehe, thanks for clarifying that. Sometimes, I'm beginning to think the degree of Ando's importance to the show: if he's just an ornamental sidekick or a Dr. Watson to an unsuspecting Sherlock Holmes. Especially now that his screentime starts to wane...
Mimicky powers? Wouldn't that be the Marvel villain, Taskmaster?
Yeah. That kid Micah's infinitely more interesting than his mom. Not as hot, though. :) I like the Micah In Post-Katrina New Orleans subplot mostly for Uhura. It's a geek thing. ;D
Pepful girl cousin's mimicky powers are neat, too. Just don't remember which comic character they're shoplifting that one from.
Mars attacks in Heroes! ;D Hehe.
Though there lingers a huge doubt on which side she is...and is she a lone operator or works for someone, um, say the company?
Thanks for the update. Do you know what time will it be shown?
Sophomore-slumping Heroes is turning out to be one big disappointment. Well, at least , to a few of us here, from the looks of it. Anybody still enjoying this? Curious to know if there's anything good in it that I'm missing . . . outside of blind faith in anticipation that something good will happen . . .next episode or the next episode after that or the next episode after that.
Crap, not even a glimpse of Elle >:( Don't you think it has too many subplots already for the main story to move on? And the future NY scene is totally cheap f/x. Please, I expect more from these big-budgeted shows... that is still airing while my other fave series are cancelled >:( ;D :P
Even Tim Kring thinks his show sucks. Wonder how the talkbacks will look like now specially among the faithful few. Hehe.
Five stages yan pre. I think they're in denial right now with the writer's strike and all. They should be like Homer Simpson when he ate that blowfish and went through all 5 stages in under a minute. Hehe! ;D
The Dec. 3 episode has been retooled to function as a potential season finale — a move inspired by the writers' strike and a desire to give the show ''a clean slate'' when it goes back into production for Volume 3.
Just when things are beginning to heat up?
kristin bell was hot here in ep8. she plays it so well. comes so naturally!
buhay pa pala si TK?!! how? can't wait to find out how. :) tagal pa ng next episode!
I'm wondering if we watched the same episode 8, or if you're referring to a spoiler for a future episode.
yep, same episode.
TK (don't wanna mention his name lest i spoil the episode for everyone but that's his legend name ;) ) was with Peter when they esc****, remember? he's one of (if not) the first with powers (healing). ;) maybe the reason why he survived and haven't aged! ;)
was just surprised to find him there with peter. didn't expect that a bit.
yep, same episode.
Ah, ako pala yung hilo...
I didn't know you were referring to Takezo Kensei, I just saw two initials and assumed that you were talking about Nikki's husband, who clearly died in episode 8. DL pala yun, hindi TK...
Hirap ng tumatanda, oo... ;D
yep, that's who i'm referring to. ;) was really surprised to see him in the present! :o can't wait to find out more. :)
Of course, before Episode 8 was aired it was all just theories ;D
If you read IMDb message boards, this isn't a surprise anymore cause a lot of fanboys have predicted this already. Of course, before Episode87 was aired it was all just theories ;D
I mean limited physical contact ;D I guess that's why she likes Peter since he can heal. BTW, she's still not totally in control of her power, right? Or did she electrocute Peter on purpose during their kissing scene?
Yup, that was on purpose. She's a sociopath, remember? :) She gets her kicks out of inflicting pain.
This week's episode was awesome. The writers outdid themselves in basically tying up most of the loose ends in one very tight narrative. You know that you're watching a well written episode when it feels more than just an hour and yet you don't ever get bored.
Wondered why Elle didn't put up a fight on the way to meeting up with Mohinder and Bob when she was all dry and dressed and could use her Electrawoman powers. Hmmmm.
Elle would've been killed easily by HRG, she knew what he's capable of. She can escape, but not enough time to fight back.
And she's probably having doubts with her father already.
The ending was reminiscent of the Claire autopsy, but the big question is keeping Bennet alive. If both Bob and Suresh knew that he is capable of bringing down the Company, why the reanimation?
Elle's incapacity could probably be because she was bound. But then, she could've easily shred the knots like how she blasted that poor lemonade at the poolside...
HRG is Bennet, X. It's an acronym for Horn Rimmed Glasses.

sana they waited at least one episode before they resurrected noah. para ma-share naman namin ang pain ni claire.
A lot of stupid heroes on Season 2. All are getting manipulated. :-\
I wonder if a bullet in the head can't even kill him ;)
Oh, and I hope Elle electrofry Claire's brains out >:(
Imagine if Heroes was on Showtime. We'd have a full blown cat fight complete with hair pulling and shirt ripping. Not to mention a visible female nipple thrown in for good measure. Ah, one can dream. ;D
Ooops, pardon the t1ts.
OT:
speaking of SHO, this reminds me of the Dexter episode where Deb runs into Livia naked and getting something from the fridge. she said...
;D wouldn't mind running into those every second!! :D
did they really...
After seeing episode 11, Angela Petrelli definitely wins mother of the year.
I'm not sure who's worse - her or Livia Soprano... ;D
sorry for not putting spolier tags in my earlier post :(
oh well sayang she's gone... i like her pa naman not for her character but just her! hehe
i also love what Hiro did to Adam!! ;D ;D but he should still die of hunger right?? ;D
Nah, according to Tim Kring, he stays alive in the tomb for all eternity...
"It's poetic justice to have Adam end up in the same graveyard as Kaito," Kring notes. "We've given the audience no reason to believe that Adam can figure a way to get out of there. The fact that he can live forever makes this the most gruesome of internments. If this happened to any of us, at least we'd know we'd soon have the mercy of death. Not here."
For explanations on other events in the finale, check out the full interview here (http://www.tvguide.com/news/heroes-generations-finale/071204-01).
Yes, they really did (kill Nikki), and...
Unlike Nathan, who was shot so could possibly be resurrected with Claire's blood, Nikki was apparently blown into a million pieces, so I don't see how bringing her back is possible.
Well, shows you what I know. I just checked out the Season 3 Preview on my R1 Heroes Season 2 DVD, and Ali Larter is back, talking about how excited she is since she'll be working extensively with someone in Season 3.
oh season 2 Blu-ray is out pala... ;D
Can't wait to see S2. Hearing you guys talking about S3 make me drooling na. :P
NBC has released promo pics of the Heroes Season 3 main cast. Looks great--now let's hope they don't botch the story further.
from left to right:
James Kyson Lee as Ando Masahashi, Jack Coleman as H.R.G., Ali Larter as Niki Sanders/Jessica, Cristine Rose as Angela Petrelli, Adrian Pasdar as Nathan Petrelli, Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli, Hayden Panettiere as Claire Bennet, Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Dania Ramirez as Maya Herrera, Zachary Quinto as Sylar, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder Suresh.
Grabe wala akong mahanap na season 1 or 2 boxset sa malls or d2.
Laging ubos
may episode 0 nga pero its just a clipshow a summary of both season 1 and 2 plus the premiere party ata
Cool geek inside joke for letting William Katt guest in the second episode.
Yeah, Katt should've been given significant face time.
BTW, ilan ba talaga episodes yesterday? I watched episodes 1 and 2 last night but then my wife mentioned to me there seems to be an episode 0 (zero). What??
It was almost like super Tuesday yesterday; Prison Break, Sarah Connor Chronicles, CSI Premiere, Heroes, Gossip Girl sabay sabay.
Dont wait for the local broadcast. Download the high def episodes while you're sleeping instead.
pre where do you download? bittorrent?
I watched these driving to and from Murphy's Makati tonight. ;D
What can I say?
One season later, and Peter Petrelli is still the stupidest character on TV. Why jump back in time and kill your own brother, then incarcerate YOURSELF in Level 5? Why not jump backj half an hour earlier, explain to your brother why the press conference should not push through, and know that your younger self will be living free? His utter stupidity makes my blood boil, as does Hiro's. Yeah, after clear instructions, open the safe, why don't you?
And the final twist on Sylar's lineage... Hmm...
I go to eztv.it for the torrent downloads I need. The site contains a lot of torrent downloads of TV shows and they are very much updated. :)
Gawd! I hate these fcuked up timeline stories that usually branch out to diferent stories that might end up lame.
Question:
Di ba Claire remains dead if the deadly object is not removed from her body? So how come Sylar can recuperate even with bullets in his body and a knife through his heart???
The deadly object should be placed solely and remain in the brain and not in any other part of the body.
Don't you think after 2 seasons, Hiro should have matured already? He's becoming more and more annoying
OT: Anyone happy to see Veronica and Weevil together? ;D
I hope someone here is a fan. ::)
Gawd! I hate these fcuked up timeline stories that usually branch out to diferent sotries that might end up lame.
yeah man! reunion of sorts... a bit ot but avclub said it best in a recent feature:
Inconsistent Haitian - back in Season 1, Nathan was able to fly around this guy ::) Is this part of his evolution? Or the writers just forgetting his powers?
...and too bad the reunion didn't last long :(
In the span of three seasons, Hiro turned from uber cool to utterly irritating.
In the span of three seasons, Hiro turned from uber cool to utterly irritating.Well, it might be Ando's time to shine. They seem to complement each other and they bail each other out, right?
I loved the twist ending in this week's episode and it also further cemented my opinion that Hiro is now the most irritating character in the series. And Robert Foster?! Cool choice.
have you noticed the scene of hiro and ando on s3 ep6 ?
when hiro went back to 1 minute before he got it, the painter hit 2 hiros? i just dont get it..shouldnt he be hit once only since he went back to 1 minute ago?

Looking forward to a Peter + Sylar vs Arthur showdown!!! 8)
this show is getting cornier by the episode. nakakainis yung ginawa nila kay hiro. where is the astig Hiro who came from the future to change time in season one? instead of making him cooler, they make him a retard!
^^are you talking about Episode 12? It's already available.
One thing I can say about Heroes is that at least it's consistent--consistently disappointing.
There were good moments in Ep 12 involving Claire & Hiro, but once again the episode falls flat towards the end. Oh, and Peter's still an idiot. They really need to kill off some characters here for good.
One thing I can say about Heroes is that at least it's consistent--consistently disappointing.
Well, until Peter get his power back... :)
Should free up more space for No Heroics.
OK nga yung No Heroics. Talaga bang 6 episodes lang sya? This type of show pwede ma pick-up ng JackTV.
Mas ok pa nga. Unfortunately, non-US shows are hardly given attention to in these parts. :(
Villains had no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
I'll sum up Heroes 3 ep. 1 - 13 as stupidity piled on top of improbability.
I always finish what I start so I'm committed to watching Heroes until it ends.
I'll sum up Heroes 3 ep. 1 - 13 as stupidity piled on top of improbability. Compelling characters from the first season are not just a mere shadow of themselves, they've become caricatures. There's just no effort to make the characters' decisions consistent and believable. You've got Sylar who they not only turn bad but also fully embrace his "hunger" but decides not to get the powers of the truly powerful superhumans like the puppet guy.
You then have Peter who wanted to destroy the formula inject himself with it just so he can save his brother.
Unfortunately, I'm a completist at heart. I always finish what I start so I'm committed to watching Heroes until it ends. I'm the guy who slogged on through McFarlane's Spawn despite the atrocious writing only because I started with the series. So I'm hoping Vol. 4 will be infinitely better this time around.
Regarding Brit shows. The Brits know that a shorter series is tauter storywise. Case in point is the excellent Worst Week of my Life, that lasted for six episodes, just enough to represent the actual days of the week. Compare it with the dragging US version of Worst Week, which is already at episode 11. The humor gets watered down.
just started watching season 1 of heroes, parang prison break din pala siya - walang tayuan ;D ;D
the only real heroes are those still watching the series.

Good Luck, malamang di ka titigil until nandun ka na sa latest episode! :D :D :D
just finished watching season 1 last night, season 2 naman mamaya! ;D
season 2 has 11 episodes. cut short because of the writer's strike.
not too sure about s3. the villains arc (or v3) had 13, while the upcoming fugitives arc (v4) shall have 12.
correct me if im way off though...
just started watching season 2 on mkv, ang layo ng diff sa avi files ;D
how do you play an mkv file? mas maliit ba ang file size than avi?

Its way much bigger. and because of that expect better PQ. ;)
better pq as in kita mo mga craters sa face ;D

Hahaha! I've noticed that while the episodes might not be ideal, those trashing the show still admit they will finish it til the very end "by force" which is kinda ironic. ;)
I mean if it's terrible I certainly wouldn't watch it. Or is it a case of the show starting from a cult hit to a guilty pleasure now?
A Heroes cast member finally does the right thing: TV.com - Rumor: Heroes cast member wants out! (http://www.tv.com/story/12080.html)
I also can't understand why in these parts, being critical of a show -- or maintaining a certain standard -- is considered such a big crime.
There's a scene in Episode 14 where a character who can fly desperately tries to avoid falling off a plane. Smart. Sino ba nagsabing bobo 'tong series na 'to? (insert sarcastic emoticon here)
Just saw the episode pre. If I got it right (magulo talaga writing), I think Peter can now only absorb one power at a time.

Pero pinapanood nyo pa rin. ;D ;D ;D
But I still get the mkv files up to the latest episode just for the sake of having them. Babalikan ko nlang siguro kapag wala nang mapanood. ;D
And they should find another way to foretell the future. That trance-drawing stuff is getting old.
Yeah. I laughed when Parkman broke into a trailer home to get... paper and crayons!
Si Sylar lang ang enjoy panuorin sa Heroes ngayon. :P Everybody else is a wimp!
I liked the ending on the latest episode though. Yung ending lang ha! ;D
The most recent Heroes episode that aired last Feb. 23, episode 17 of Season 3 ("Cold Wars"), garnered the lowest ratings ever for NBC (http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/02/low-ratings-chuck-and-heroes.html), despite repeats of shows from the other networks.Understandable. That episode was the worst. They tried to be artsy with narrative manipulation but it fell flat.
And maybe the American fans of the show have been progressively dwindling, too.
Finally, a really decent episode. Hopefully they keep this up.
si t-bag of "prison break" nasa heroes na ;D

How much of a nerd am I that I tried to solve the Algebra question. ;D
So disappointed you can get the answer without even "solving" it.
Uso naman time skipping sa Heroes so I might as well try too. :)
Question Peeps,
I have the complete Season 3 but stopped watching at Episode 7 (or 8) because the season s*cked.
Would I understand the season opener without watching the previous episodes? Uso naman time skipping sa Heroes so I might as well try too. :)
Thanks.
BTW, House rules. - The most popular TV show worldwide - didnt expect that.
Watching the last 3 episode of season 3 might help. Season 4 kasi starts where season 3 ended.
Might be surprised where Sylar and who Nathan Petrelli is at the moment. ;)
You might want to read the episode summaries on tv.com so you have an idea what happened in season 3. If you just start with season 4 ep 1 you might be surprised by a few things but you'll eventually catch on because they explain it a lot.
at season 4, ep 11 still exciting to me ;D

i loved this show! the first season was excellent but it went downhill from there. i think they suffered from changes in writers and thus lost their focus. i hope they don't screw up this time around.
