Sir coming from 48", baka hindi significant ang upgrade niyo because hindi ganun kalaki kasi ang difference niyan. Parang maliit ang 7" kung 48" ang paguusapan. Walang 20% increase yan.
Just my thoughts lang naman sir if you don't mind.
-
What do you suggest po sir? Ty

Sir mga 60" or 65" kung kaya ng budget. Medjo nitceable difference na din ang 60". Have you tried viewing a 55" sa mga malls? Pwede niyong request to put it side by side sa 48" for comparison.
-
Yes i agree 7 inch is a small difference
I would just save up and go at least a 60 inches.
-
Thanks mga sir. Mahal lang masyado pa ang 60" cheapest ata ng sammy is 60k
ok po ba mga devant, xtreme etc?
-
I would stick with samsung, lg, sony and sharp

short answer, no. :P
I would also rule out samsung after our 32" tv's short usable life experience.

Did it happen near the end of warranty period or a few months after the warranty has lapsed?

IIRC, it was already past its warranty period. (it was over 2 yrs old) in contrast, our LG "fat" 32" LCD still performs great.
-
I see what do you suggest for LG models thanks

the LG 55UF680T costs 44k at Abensons. it fits your criteria and price range. :D
try checking at Ansons if you can get this model for the same or less. ;)

I believe it is. though users seem plenty satisfied with it, despite it being a "fake" 4K.

Being fake it means it's 3k? Hehehe

I have to attest to this. we had two Samsung hdtvs before. one 40" wherein the panel broke a few months after the warranty and a 32" where the speakers broke as well about after 3 years. not to mention my samsung HTiB that broke a month before warranty expired and had repeat issues after it was fixed.
Samsungs are cheap but at the cost of durability. Never had this problem with our other HDTVs which last (yes they're still working) for at least 6 years already.
-
Sir may i know what brand you prefer?

Maganda sana ang samsung dami pa features pero madali masira, haha.
Better pa rin ang sony, for long term use although mas mahal.
-
Panasonic sana kaso hindi na sila ramdam masyado dito sa atin. i had a 32" lcd before. binili ko 2006 and binenta ko na sa tropa pero hanggang ngayon gumagana pa rin daw. my mom has a 42" plasma since 2009 and is still working now.
right now i have a Sony 49" 4k. first time go mag Sony and so far so good. my sister and bro-in-law has a 32" since 2010 and gumagana pa rin now.
LG i don't have an experience with yet.
So if you're going to ask me, I'd say Sony since subok na namin.
EDIT:
Also forgot to mention the Android TV features of my Sony Bravia works great as well. can use my DS4 controller with it and the built-in Google Chromecast function is godsent.
-
As far as my experience is concerned, Samsung is durable.
I have a 32" flat panel circa 2009 that still kicks ass to this day. No problems whatsoever.
That's seven (7) years.

The top brands are all okay for me: Samsung, Sony and LG. The clincher will be the size-to-price ratio that fits your budget.
If you are very particular with PQ, do not buy a panel unless you have convinced yourself through an actual demo that one panel stands out from the rest. Bring your favorite video or movie file contained in a USB flashdrive and have the store clerk put the panel's video setting on DEFAULT (or STANDARD) mode while viewing and testing. Normally, the panels on display are set to "showroom" mode and the PQ is unrealistic for day-to-day viewing at home.
If you are also particular with the number of physical connections you can use for the panel, check which one has enough HDMI ports for your needs. Some panels with discounted prices fall short: only 2 HDMI ports.

Thanks for the replies. If in case I go for a Sony it will only be 50inch bec of budget constraints. Hehehe
So choices are
55 j6200 Sammy
55ju6000 Sammy
55uf680t LG
Sony what particular models are recommended? 50w800c?
Thanks

Since you are upgrading from a size 48 panel, the 55 looks like a preferable option than a 2-inch upgrade of 50.
Between the two Samsung panels you shortlisted, my vote goes to JU6000. The J6200 is not bad at all, especially if you don't need 4k for your viewing needs.
Now, if the dealer throws in a pointer remote control with the JU6000 that's even better. I know that not all UHD panels come with this pointer remote control so better ask.
-
yes, if Samsung, JU6000 is the best choice. kung Sony 49x8000.

if it's on the website, it's probably the same price across its branches.

Samsung 55 JS8000 is sold here in my place at a sale price of P71k. Is it a good buy? or shall I consider it as goodbye?

HDR vs OLED?
Which is a better buy?
BTT: Budget is always the issue, but judging purely on picture quality, get a 55" either OLED or HDR. :)

OLED still. :)
-
OLED still. :)
Yup. I asked the seller to play same video side by side for same size 55" HDR and OLED. OLED is much better in terms of contrast and motion.
-
if you're still in the hunt for 55in 4k TV and if Samsung 55JU6000 is still in your list, I can refer you to a reputable store. got mine last night for 43k which is much lower than the other stores i checked.
-
pwede rin po sir thanks
-
what is an hdr 4k?
thanks
HDR is High Dynamic Range, a feature on newer devices. New OLED TVs are also HDR capable.
HDR capable TVs are generally midrange models or higher. UHD Bluray and Amazon Prime Video are HDR sources, for example.
There are two major HDR standards in home entertainment, Dolby Vision and HDR 10. Most HDR TVs that only say HDR are HDR 10 capable. Those that offer Dolby Vision compatibility would usually indicate so.

Congrats. Samsung's new firmware makes all their 2015 and newer UHD TVs HDR compatible, afaik. That gets you ready for HDR content.
