Title: Scrubs
Post by: CrUzSACK on Feb 19, 2003 at 02:10 PM
I'm getting hooked on this show. Lakas magpromote ni acidburn, eh. ;D  Didn't think anything of it at first, but after Episode 3 (My Best Friend's Mistake), I was already hooked. Hooked! Hooked! Hooked!

Scrubs is like the male version of Ally Mcbeal, except that it's so much better and funnier and has better choice of music even.  Too bad, it's not getting enough buzz as the other shows.  Hope it doesn't go the way of Sport's Night (2 seasons and it's dead).

There's an online petition for the release of the DVD...you may sign here:  http://www.petitiononline.com/94140/

My favorite characters so far:
Dr. Cox
(http://www.scrubs-tv.com/images/john-mcginley.jpg) --- who looks a bit like Buzzlightyear in this picture  :o  ;D

and

Dr. Cox's ex-wife, Jordan (semi-regular)

Nope. But if it does, i'm pretty sure the med students will go gaga over it.

I've mixed feelings over the show. Sometimes, I think it tries too hard (just as I though Ally McBeal tried too hard). But I have to agree that Dr. Cox is a great character.

OK lang but I'm not too keen on it. Parang it pales in comparison to the actual experience eh. Truth is always funnier, stranger, and more poignant than fiction.

Or baka di lang ako masyadong maka-relate kasi wala silang What-the-fooking-hell-am-I-doing-in-med-school-get-me-outta-here! character.  :)

Hey Scrubs is currently my favorite comedy series. Yes, Friends is now only second on my list  :-X. This show just cracks me up ;D My favorite character is also Dr. Cox.   ;D
I've already watched the whole first season and I'm up-to-date with the second season which would air it's 16th episode this week after a 3 week break. I just can't wait to watch this weeks episode. :)

When the lead singer of Men at Work guested on the show, what is the name of song he sung?  ???  I tried digging thru my old CD's but can't find my Men at Work CD.

I like this show ..... a lot.

I didn't care much if the actual job they do is not even close to reality ... but the human relation they touch in every episode rings true.

I took 2 "Which Scrubs Character Are You?" Test and they all had the same result.  :-\  The funny thing is, I don't like the character, Carla! :-[

Uy good! Coz RPN 9 don't carry a lot of really interesting shows these days, IMO.

As long as they don't give it the replay-the-entire-half-season treatment, will record, will patronize sponsors, will tell friends to watch it.

I saw a list of shows coming on RPN 9 (yesterday? today?) but I didn't think I saw Scrubs there. I think it was a PR thing from RPN printed in the Inquirer. Sayang if they decided not to air Scrubs.  This is a very very entertaining show...30 minutes of laughter seems really really short.

From what I remember before, NBC was grooming Scrubs to take the place of Friends when it goes off the air. But since the show is not really taking off despite critical acclaim, I wonder what the (idiot) executives at NBC are thinking now.

Coupling USA version? So Scrubs isn't doing well in the ratings? Tsk sayang.  What's it up against there?

It airs opposite Survivor and after Friends. Sadly, it loses a big chunk of Friends viewers instead of retaining them or improving on them.

Another bad sign, the show didn't have a lot of re-runs this season and will end the current season earlier than normal series. Last episode  will air next Thursday, April 17 ... right before the sweeps. The show always goes on hiatus during sweeps .... replaced by super-sized Friends and Will and Grace. Although Scrubs have been renewed already and NBC executives were behind it, I wonder how far they are going to support it to become a big hit. Fox Network stood by 24 during its first season and gave it a big push even if it was coming in last for Tuesday night opposite big time TV shows (Fraser, NYPD Blue, Smallville, Buffy)  ... but this season it's viewership is way up ... and number 1 in its time slot. Meanwhile, Alias audience is simply eroding. I think too much complications in the story line is hurting the series.

Scrubs Season 1 will start airing on RPN 9 November 12, 8:30 PM. I had hoped Studio 23 was airing this.  :-\  Season 3 just began last month (?) in the US. This is a really funny show. Yup, and it'll feature Heather Graham as an extra addition to the show (I dunno if she'll be a guest or a temporary cast)

Well, he got to play doctor in a recent Scrubs episode....(Season 5 Episode 22 I think).

Scrubs in another recent episode had this banter between JD and Elliot  in referrence to Grey's Anatomy ---

JD: I'll stay home and watch ourselves on Grey's Anatomy
Elliot: I love that show!!!

^ parang ganun yung dialogue ni JD/Elliot. Not the exact dialogue. ;D

Grey's Anatomy referrence to Scrubs in a recent episode (Season 2, Episode 24 aired just last Sunday in the US) --- when Christina called O'Malley BAMBI...which, if you're watching both shows, you'd know BAMBI is JD's pet name on Scrubs. :)

This line was uttered in GA's last episode and it just had me laughing very, very hard:  (Elderly patient to Alex) ----" I have no underwear on, and I don't want you looking at my good girl." ---> Fantastic! ;D

Scrubs also gave a nod to Gilmore Girls and House, MD. JD was pissed off that Lorelei and Rory were not on speaking terms. Dr. Kelso called Dr. Cox "House without the limp."

Hope Dr. Cox will be nommed for an Emmy this year. It was poignant that he called JD "JD" after a long time.

Great double-episode season finale! Looking forward to Liz Banks as a frequent guest star. It's population explosion next season.  ;D
