Do u know when will this come out on r3? I hope there's a toy that comes with it.
-
We have no idea yet. But Region 1 will be released on November 18 so we assume, 2 weeks after or 1 or a few months later.
I really hope Viva releases the 3 disc DVD Version here and doesn't screw the special features of the DVD such as what they did to Ratatouille. They removed the deleted scenes.

I think we will be getting 2-disc at the most since the 3rd disc of the R1 is just a digital copy.
-
From what I know, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is available on both single and 2 disc editions
and is localized here on both editions but the two disc edition is limited.
I assume we should buy the DVD as soon as ipossible since as the time passes, the 3 disc/ or 2 disc edition becomes obsolete.

That could be true of those with 1 and 2 discs variants. But whether to buy immediately is a hard choice considering the premium you'd be paying... so it all depends on how much you loved the film...
-
I really love all Pixar's films. And I'll not miss the opportunity to buy the 2disc/3disc edition of WALL-E since Pixar screwed the DVD release(lacking special feature materials) of Cars and Ratatouille.
-
will definitely add this in my collection.
-
R3 now available in SG @ 28sgd (850 php).
-
As far as concerned, WALL-E Region 2(United Kingdom, Western Europe, Middle East and Japan) will be released on a 2 disc DVD Special Edition.(no digital copy included)
-
Any info on when the DVD will be released here? It's already available in other SEA countries like Singapore and Malaysia.
-
If I remember it right, Viva releases Pixar movies a month after the US release. Ang kasabay ng US release is yun VCD.
-
It will be available on Nov. 26. Data yata this week pero na-delay. Priced at 550 pesos. Don't know if its single or double disc though :)
-
At Php 550, it must be single-disc.
-
At 550....yeah it might be single disc. Viva 2disc releases are at 750 if I'm not mistaken.
-
Then again Sleeping Beauty PE is 2-discs and it's 550...

there goes the hope for a decent packaging for this.

It's not really a "new release" per se.
-

There's still the consolation that it might be slipcased though.
-
Sleeping Beauty:
It's not really a "new release" per se.
Maybe not 'new' but it's a new transfer and it's PE. And Nightmare before Christmas is not 'new' too and its 750.
Maybe if the case clearly states its 2-discs (like Nightmare) then its 750 for 2-discs, and if not (like Sleeping Beauty), its 550.
As for Wall-E, we may have to wait and see...
-
I wouldn't put too much stock on the R1 packaging.. it looked great when I saw it but it's a scratch-magnet.. I got mine recently and I like that it goes with the theme of the movie but it sucks from a very-OC collector's standpoint..

oii, that's too bad. im going to expect scratches on my copy when i get it then.. :-\

You are right about Nightmare Before Christmas. So I guess the 550 2disc concept is probably applied to Disney "exclusive" animated titles. Others fall to the 550 1disc or 750 2disc releases. It would be great if Wall-E would be 2discs for P550 only. But categorically, if priced P550, most probaby it would be 1disc.
-
I just hope VIVA will include every bonus feature on disc 1 and disc 2. I think the packaging of the 2 Disc Version would be kinda similar to Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End 2 disc.
-
i saw a standee poster that says free mahogany seedling with purchase, so we can start saving the Earth?
And the poster seems to indicate the dvd's packaging will be special... Either a wall.e slipcase or something different.
not yet available but as paowong says next week siguro...
-
A noble idea, that free seedling promo. But I find it weird that Astro stores will be stocking these up in their storerooms.

it's available already, saw them at the new Astro in GB5. It's a 2-disc set with a "half"-slipcase

If it's P550....then techdude called it right! Which is good news!
-
So how much is it? Does the Special features of R3 match the special features of R1? Can you post screenshots of the casing if possible?
-
At 550....yeah it might be single disc. Viva 2disc releases are at 750 if I'm not mistaken.
Saw this last night after work....2disc release is indeed P750.
-
Yes, it's 750. In standard amaray-clone packaged inside a fully enclosed slipcase.with cardboard wall.e taped over it.
-
I've seen it earlier. Yeah. It's worth 750. I'm surprised that the packaging is very different from the R1 Version then again, the R1 case is prone to scratches.

Hehehehe good thing ginawa nilang white yung background ng discs.... =)

The Astro people offered to give me a mahogany plant which they said is free with the purchase. Totoo nga! I couldn't take it home because I didn't have a car to put it in and I would have looked stupid carrying it out of the store and around the mall :o
So, I just opted to give it to the staff ;D
And may I say, for a gesture on saving the planet, this release sure does use a lot of paper -- unnecessarily, if I may add ::)
-
Whoa... sa loob ba ng stockroom ng store nakalagay yung mga plants??? Hahahahaha hanggang kelan yan???
-
Whoa... sa loob ba ng stockroom ng store nakalagay yung mga plants??? Hahahahaha hanggang kelan yan???
I got this from Astro RP Ermita. Sa nakita ko kinuha ng saleslady sa stockroom nila. I don't know! Kanina ko lang binili and sinabi kaagad sa akin na may mahogany plant free with the DVD. :D
Naawa nga ako because the plant looks like it's about to die already :'(
:o For the love of God, people! Save these plants from the stockroom! Get the Wall-e DVD and free the plants!!!! Free the Plants!!! Attica!!! Attica!!! :o
-
Yup, i saw the plant in SM North Edsa. How much do those plants cost anyway?
-
madali lang ba buhayin ung plants na un?
-
When I got the DVD, wala pa iyung mga plants. I thought they will give seeds not plants. Silly idea sa plants. They should have offered to plant the number of trees (equal to the number of DVD sold) in a conservation park or open space, not give plants away, where, I guess - given most of us are not green thumbs will just go to the big pie in the sky... that would be the reverse of its intended idea...
-
I think Mahogany trees don't have seeds. When it was first reported that it's gonna be seedlings, I immediately assumed that Astro would store the seedlings inside their storeroom, which looks weird since those seedlings will surely wilt if they do not get any sunlight.

Oh. At least I learned one thing today. Stupid promo still...
-
Target had the same thing in the US.. but instead of the seedling itself, they would give you a code.. you put a code in the website then the seedling is delivered to your place..

HI TECH! ;D
-
The good thing here is we're saving costs because wala nang digital copy!
I agree doon sa suggestion na by purchasing one DVD= 1 seedling to be planted on a open space or field.
WALL-E really sure made an impact to what could happen in the future.
-
Possibly the silliest promo ever :D
Can anybody post a pic of the plant?
I won't be buying this soon, Paying php750 for a DVD is already ridiculous for me. I'll wait for it to go down to php299
-
does it mirror r1 exactly?
-

It's actually a very nice plant ;D:

That's the DVD, the plant, and the nice little Wall-E gift bag the DVD comes in.
-
^ Like I said, that's a hell of a lot of paper (and plastic) for just one DVD release to be considered environmentally friendly.
So much for minimizing the carbon footprint :P
-
not bad okay na gimik ito.... at least if we buy one may pasalubong na tyo for wifey para sa garden
-
The whole point of the R1 packaging is to make everything environmentally-friendly save for the discs, LOL. As for scratches, only Discs 2 & 3 are at risk, and I don't really plan to keep using them anyway.
I was tempted to get the R3 release, but the "Copyright VIVA VIDEO" print at the back was a turnoff; I'll wait for my R1 copy instead. ;D
-
actually, all discs are at risk from scratches with the R1 packaging.. and even if you don't see a scratch, there's still a chance your discs are flawed.. I got 2 copies (R1) both scratch-free but they hang in all the players I've used.. I guess I'll buy the R3 na lang din..
EDIT: Hmmm, playing well so far on an old Pioneer player.. may not have to buy the R3 after all..
-
Sana walang sira yung kopya ko.... hahay! or else... I might buy the R3 na din. Pero gusto ko yung WALL-E bag!!!
I'm visiting Video stores lately and I've observed that some Pixar films on DVDs such as Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles are also released on Single DVD. Just make sure you look for the two disc label if you're into special features before buying.
I hope WALL-E goes on sale this Christmas before I buy it.

had exactly the same problem before I used an old player.. read the same problems in other forums as well so it looks like a problem with the discs..
-
So I'll go for the R3 then :)

here's hoping too
-
OFFTOPIC : I got my R1 copy from emildjr and there are no problems with my copy. Good thing I've told him to test my copy before giving it to me. To be honest, you can transfer the digital copy of the film on your PC! You can easily fool those terms and conditions. But you should have the activiation code with you or else, that copy is useless. Although the process will take a little longer than those USA people. After the process is complete, it will give you a PC copy and a mobile copy of the movie.
ONTOPIC: Has anyone found the easter eggs lately? I wanna access it through DVD Player and if it fails, I'll use my PC to see those easter eggs.

There are two easter eggs right on the main menu of Disc 1 of the R3 DVD. You can access the first easter egg by highlighting the BNL logo on the upper lefthand corner of the menu, while the second one can be accessed by highlighting the circle at the top/middle of the screen.
On Disc 2, there's one easter egg on the Humans / Behind the Scenes menu. Just click on the red dot that appears at the horizontal bar at the bottom. Not sure if there are other easter eggs here.
-

if that's the case, are there any news of disney recalling all flawed discs?
-
As for the easter eggs on Disc One, Here are the guidelines for you to access them via DVD Player. I've discovered them myself.
How to access the BNL Easter Egg
On the main menu, press down until you reach the "Bonus Feature", from there, click left and then up. It will point you to the BNL Logo.
How to access the circle with letter W Easter Egg
On the main menu, press down until you reach "Set Up" from there, press right and then up. It will point you to a circle with the letter W.
As for the Easter Egg on Disc 2, I haven't seen it yet.
To add, I really love the twist after the end credits.
WALL-E is brought to you by BNL!
-
could it be that our discs are from korea? when i decrypt the disc onto the pc, the title says WALLE KOR.
-
the disc (or the source probably) is korean since i've been getting korean subtitles as the primary subtitles.
-
saan astro pa meron free mahogany tree?ty
-
Hehehehe it seems na wala nang free mahogany tree sa Oddysey sa SM Bacoor. Kasi may nakita akong bumili ng DVD nito. Then, wala siyang nakuha.
Enjoy nyo ba ang copy nito guys? Astig din yung Pixar Story. Kung avid Pixar fan ka, it's a must watch.
Someday in the future, Viva would just sell a single disc copy of this and they're doing this on their other Pixar Movies that were on a collector's edition like Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., and The Incredibles.
-
may nakakita ba sa inyo nito lately? thanks. :)
-
What do you mean? Meron naman sigurong stock nito sa mga Video stores. As in SM Bacoor's case, Out of stock na yung DVD nito sa Odyssey.
-

i meant yung 2-disc release ng viva.
-
Alam ko 2 disc yung binebenta ng Viva nung unang release unless nagbebenta na rin sila ng single disc nyan.
-
may nakakita ba sa inyo nito lately? thanks. :)
There is still a 2-disc Wall-E in Riverbanks Mall (Marikina), but unless you live in the area, it's a bit out of the way...
Alam ko 2 disc yung binebenta ng Viva nung unang release unless nagbebenta na rin sila ng single disc nyan.
I have seen the single disc release for Wall-E.
-
If you are willing to pay full price 750, maraming 2-discs sa SM Manila Astro. Of course, wala na Mahogany tree...
-
It's actually a very nice plant ;D:

This is so cool..!
Pardon me, but may ganito pa ba dito sa atin..? In any branch ng Astro...?

Thanks! :) Just got one this afternoon. :)

Noticed the 2-disc is down to P550 at Astro Metroeast & Riverbanks Mall.

^ konting tiis nalang, php350 na yan ;D

Does it still have the slipcase as well?

Does it still have the slipcase as well?
Yes, the ones I saw have the slipcase.
-
Been to several astro stores but they are still priced at 750. Was hoping to get one at a discounted rate. Oh well, the wait continues...
-
Last weekend, Odyssey Megamall has the slipcased 2-disc at P550, but it's still P750 at Astro Megamall.
-
Bought the 2disc for 550 at O in Greenbelt. But all astro stores I've been still have them at 750.

Just happy to report that 5 years later, this free Mahogany tree I rescued from the DVD promo is alive and well... and taller than our two-story house. :)
