:P
whats ur fave medical seies?
mine are st. elsewhere and e.r.
-
Dramatic:
1. St. Elsewhere: Well written, with characters who were very engaging. Like L.A. Law, it successfully could combine drama and comedy nearly seamlessly.
2. Chicago Hope: How I wish this show would've debuted a year before E.R.. It never really stood a chance to become a break-out hit with that show as its competition.
Comedic:
1. Scrubs: The funniest sitcom currently on air. And this from someone who watches probably most of them. ;D
2. E/R: The 80s sitcom, not the current drama. But this is probably for sentimental reasons, since I really remember the E/R triage girl - the first Pinay character I ever saw on an American show, who talked about balut and other stuff.
-
SCRUBS! ;)

I vaguely remember this. Saw a couple of episodes. Is this the one with George Clooney? (When he wasn't THE George Clooney yet....long haired-Clooney if I remember right...)

isn't that the same E.R. being shown on TV right now? E/R was way back in 1984 pa... lasted only a season, i think.
faves? marami... but the first ones that come to mind:
chicago hope (IMO better writing than E.R. ... E.R. is grittier tho...)
st. elsewhere
nightingales (baka ako lang may gusto nito... about nurses naman. with kristy swanson. )
heartbeat (this one starred joan chen, lynn whitfield and kate mulgrew)
;D ;D ;D

E/R stars E.R.'s George Clooney rin. Hehehe, that so weird for him, two ER's on his filmography. ;D Did a search and this E/R also starred Jason Alexander pala. This guy (Jason Alexander) needs to get on another TV show, he's good.
How about Doogie Howser, MD --- does this one count as a medical series?
-
M*A*S*H ! dont forget Mash. that's still a medical series right? ;D
-

oo nga ano... i just checked... is this his earliest regular TV gig? :P
actually mas gusto bumalik si jason alexander sa stage musicals...sayang eh. maganda boses nya. i feel the exact same way about mandy patinkin. sobrang underappreciated ang talent nila sa TV. >:(
-
I don't really watch any medical shows but someone mentioned "M*A*S*H"; that was one of my favorite shows too. I think the most memorable scene frome "M*A*S*H" for me was when Radar entered the O.R. and tearfully announced that Col. Blake's plane had been shot down over the sea of Japan and that there were no survivors; Maj. Hoolihan and the rest of the nurses started crying but Hawkeye and the rest of the surgeons just kept on working because they had to; but you could see the sadness and anguish in their eyes.I was sad too even though I knew Col. Blake was just a fictional character, I felt like I knew him becsue I had been a fan of "MASH" since the beginning.
-
The first 2 seasons of E.R. (with drama series with Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, George Clooney, etc.) depicted the action in the emergency room quite accurately. Afterwards you got too used to it.

Scrubs
Grey's Anatomy
House, M.D.

Grey's Anatomy

Greys Anatomy! and Chicago Hope ;D
-
For drama, St. Elsewhere, especially the finale. For comedy, M*A*S*H*.
-
St. Elsewhere was the best for me, particularly that special 2-part episode titled "Time Heals" in which they showed the hospital when it was just new--that episode made me cry. Why isn't this show on DVD yet?
The early seasons of ER were also good, but I stopped watching after they killed off my favorite character, the intern played by Kellie Martin--that 2-part episode where she died was one of the most riveting ever. Also one of the best was the episode that was aired live on US TV; they had to do it twice, one for the East Coast airing and another for the West Coast airing.
-
does nip/tuck counts? and my current addiction..grey's anatomy

e.r. - started watching the series this year sa Hallmark kasi dati maka chicago hope ako so i didn't watch the show regularly and when i did they killed off kellie martin so nadismaya akong panoorin pa. pero yung episode na yun ang favorite ko pa rin sa series.

I don't have a favorite medical tv series but I remember watching ST. ELSEWHERE before (with pre-Oscar winner Denzel Washington) on 7. I also watch some episodes of E.R., the very first episode of HOUSE M.D., etc. Does M*A*S*H count since it's basically about a bunch of medical people in a 'Mobile Army Surgical Hospital' that's been on the frontline during the Korean war?
It's my sister who loves to watch this kind of shows since she can relate to those shows very well. She's a registered nurse. Whevener I had the chance to go to Singapore, I would inform her if she would like me to buy her the latest season of E.R. The box set price here are much lower compared in the Lion City not to mention the same region. She also digs SCRUBS. She even has the soundtrack of that wacky series.

House MD! ;)
-
Trapper John MD
-
Yeah, M*A*S*H* is my favorite, but I also watched St. Elsewhere, especially the strange ending.
-
ReGenesis...
-
The ending to St.Elsewhere was a high point of TV, not just medical TV.
And so was the two-part series finale of M*A*S*H* - - the bit with the woman and the noisy chicken on the bus still haunts me to this day.
-
Here's an article about the last episode of St. Elsewhere that I remember seeing on Channel 7 (I think):
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0DE1DB1F30F934A15756C0A961948260
I don't know if this is the same as the "Last One" episode with the unusual plot twist because the last scene I remember watching on TV was the hospital being torn down.
I saw the last seasons of M*A*S*H* only years later because I can't remember watching them on local TV. I think one of the last episodes I saw then involved Winchester trying to give the password, "Oky doky."
-
house m.d.
grey's anatomy

You missed one entire season. The second to the last season ended with the hospital apparently being demolished while Dr. Auschlander was trapped inside. The last season opened with the hospital saved from the rest of the demolition by a buy out from a company that I think it was called "Ecumena."
And it makes me sad that I actually know this information without having to consult Wikipedia or IMDb. ;D
-
I see! I only saw the month and day of the article but not the year. I always thought that was a pretty good ending to the series compared to the weird one I keep reading about.

Nip Tuck and Doogie Howser M.D.
