WARRIOR
Cinemax picked up the straight-to-series drama, with an eye to start production on its ten-episode season this fall in Cape Town, South Africa. The show is inspired by an idea from Bruce Lee and created and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper (creator of Cinemax’s Banshee) under Tropper Ink Productions. Justin Lin and Danielle Woodrow will executive produce on behalf of Perfect Storm Entertainment, and Shannon Lee will executive produce for Bruce Lee Entertainment.
“’Warrior’ follows in the spirit of the tradition of adrenalized Cinemax dramas that we established with ‘Strike Back’ and ‘Banshee,’” said Antholis. “We are brimming with excitement for this unique martial arts series combining Bruce Lee’s inspired conception with the immense storytelling talents of Jonathan Tropper and Justin Lin.”
Warrior is a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century. The series follows Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who immigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances, and becomes a hatchet man for one of Chinatown’s most powerful tongs (Chinese organized crime family).
“I’ve always admired Bruce Lee for his trailblazing efforts opening doors for Asians in entertainment and beyond,” notes Lin. “So I was intrigued when Danielle told me about the urban legend of his never-produced idea for a TV show and suggested we bring it to life. Then, when Shannon shared with us her father’s writings – rich with Lee’s unique philosophies on life, and through a point of view rarely depicted on screen – Danielle and I knew that Perfect Storm had to make it.”
Warrior is produced for Cinemax by Perfect Storm Entertainment, Tropper Ink Productions and Bruce Lee Entertainment.

Warrior Renewed for Third Season, Moving to HBO Max
With production of original series on Cinemax coming to an end, the future of the Bruce Lee-based action series Warrior was left unknown after its second season finale in December but fans can rejoice as it’s been confirmed it will return for a third chapter, now at HBO Max.
“Warrior introduced viewers to a distinct world from the past, executed with dynamic action and relevant storytelling, with a brilliant cast led by Andrew Koji,” Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer at HBO and HBO Max, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what Jonathan, Justin and Shannon will bring to the next chapter of this series on HBO Max.”
“Justin, Jonathan, and I were thrilled when Warrior was put on HBO platforms to be discovered by a whole new legion of fans,” Shannon Lee, Executive Producer, Bruce Lee Entertainment, said in a statement. “Now we are excited and grateful for the opportunity to do another season, and we applaud HBO Max for understanding the importance of telling this story and for continuing to support this level of representation in our industry. I just know that my father is grinning right now to see this show he dreamed of so long ago continuing to beat the odds. We have every intention of delivering the same high level of meaningful storytelling and Gung Fu action in season 3!”

Yes, hanggang Episode 10 ang Season 3. Hopefully they will renew it soon for Season 4.
I think this series had an uneven Season 1 and had to find its footing. However, they succeeded in spades with Season 2 and continuing the streak with the current Season 3. I am enjoying the show a lot, both in its fight scenes and in the interesting and compelling characters. Hope it will find a bigger audience, particularly so now that it is under the Max banner.

Complete 10 episodes na tong Season 3.

From Cinemax to HBO Max to Netflix....On one side, it's very unfortunate that this excellent series is not finding a bigger audience. On another side, it literally has a "warrior" spirit and refuses to die. I do hope Netflix will be its saving grace and that we at least see a proper closure to the story.
‘Warrior’ Canceled At Max As Netflix Picks Up Non-Exclusive Rights To 3 Existing Seasons
Warrior won’t be returning for a fourth season on Max.
However, the existing three seasons of the martial arts crime drama are set to find additional audiences as Netflix has picked up the series’ library in a co-exclusive deal with Max in Warner Bros. Discovery streamer’s markets.
Warrior is expected to debut on Netflix in February 2024. If it does well, Netflix could presumably order a new season of the drama based on an original concept and treatment by Bruce Lee, sources tell Deadline exclusively.

Just into episode 1. Mala banshee ba ito?🙃
I have not watched Banshee, but I know the producer and showrunner of both series are the same guy, Jonathan Tropper.

This deserves at least 2 more seasons.
Great characters. Superb action.
Parang Red Dead Redemption na Sleeping Dogs na Banshee.
