Title: What's your Favorite Mockumentary on dvd?
Post by: benny on Feb 27, 2002 at 03:04 PM
I just caught the second half of Welcome to Hollywood (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004WC7K/ref=ase_pinoydvd-20) on HBO today. (Note this was lunchtime and it was either this or MTB.  :P ) Sucky film but seminally interesting because of Angie Everhart (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Everhart,+Angie). It got me to asking - how many "mockumentaries" are there?  Are any of them any good?

Do you like these?

This Is Spinal Tap (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/6305922756/ref=ase_pinoydvd-20)

John Cleese on How to Irritate People (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005A05C/ref=ase_pinoydvd-20)

Waiting for Guffman (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005LC5D/ref=ase_pinoydvd-20)

Best in Show and This is Spinal Tap are on my list.

Too bad Pinoy film producers feel that mockumentaries are a non-market here in the Philippines. Given our sense of humor, we'd probably be very good at doing this sort of thing.

fran - Welcome to the forum! You can try Astrovision for vcds of Spinal Tap. I sometimes see these on the sale rack, 100 kesos ata ... or you could post a "Wanted to buy" at the DVD Marketplace (http://www.pinoydvd.com/yabbse/index.php?board=6)

Spinal Tap - the 18" stonehenge replica alone is well-worth the price of the dvd.  O0

Curse of the Blair Witch... the mockumentary on the Blair Witch Project. This "promotional prelude" is a great starter to watch if you havent seen the actual movie.  :)
