More into music talaga kasi ako sir, yung sa living room, just entry level for my gaming :) with the occasional movie watching on weekends.

i just want to ask, have you tried putting the sub in the center rather than in one corner. is there any difference in the SQ? mas balansyado ata pag sa gitna sa tingin ko.

I tried sir, and a drastic drop in spl, better bass though - Kinuha ko nalang yung me balance ng SPL and SQ from the listening position... so medio nilayo ko sia onti sa right...

Sa angle siguro kaya parang super malapit sa right, pero, mga 10 inches away sia from the center, and about 19 inches from the side wall.

Sub is crossed at around 90 hz, so ndi naman din ganu ka directional ung sound, you wouldn't notice its in the right side.

Also, yung amp and cdp would be right on top of the sub kaya iniwasan ko din :)

With my speakers, sounds very good for Vocals and Jazz, which is what I listen to most of the time. I tried it on a track with nothing but percussion, it sounds good too.

Performs well with rock too (mostly guitars), but like most tube amps - Will not do well with modern music, e.g. Techno, trance, hip hop.

Overall - Im very happy with this amp.

You can audition it here in my place sir if you want. :)

10 in Bass traps added, some repositioning of gears din. The second pair of absorbers (12 inchers) goes to the rear kasama ng diffusers, naisama lang sa pic at antok na ko. hehehehe :D

Tama sir :) but with caps, wiring, and other stuff, the modern variant is superior. Sa tubes, nos is way better.. Hehehe. Yes din po sa preamp tubes, mas malaking factor sia. :) anu po ba ung balak niong preamp tubes? :)

Yes sir. It works as a diffuser din, and tames a little of the excess highs... But best to compliment iy with absorbers and bass traps din.. And positioning of the trays should be considered din. :)

I mean tube in preamp section, may ilan akong 1960's 12AX7 na pinagpapalipalit pero type ko sylvania & philips... :)

Just rolled in NOS GE 12AU7 and Sovtek 12AX7WXT....

Initial impression of the combination is that tone is much rounder, a LOT less harsh in the top end than the chinese stock tubes, vocals are more lush - much more air so to speak. The bass is good and tight, and the mids are more present than ever.

Just like the stock chinese, the 2 pairs gave no hiss or hum. Dead quiet.
The Russians though, are more prone to microphonics than both the chinese and the NOS GE. A little tap proves this.. hehehe

I wasn't able to try the tubes one at a time, because the combination was done out of excitement, so I wont be able to give insights on the sound of the individual tubes.

Overall - These tubes really complimented each other, and safe to say - This combination will BLOW away the stock chinese 12AU7 and 12AX7 in every way.

I will give my more detailed insights on the said tubes once the tubes have settled in, I will give it 50-200 hrs to burn in, just in case there will be noticeable sound difference.

Not yet since there are no appropriate stands for it yet and the placement and accoustics are not correct for the speakers. I just tested if it works.

Too big in my statement refers to "a lot of space" being taken, the footprint is huge. Hehehe

I use a denon avr, a lower model, 2113, And i would say psb and denon work well together. As for pricing, give watthifi a call, I'm sure they can work out a deal that works well for both of you :)

The second sub did smooth out the frequencies... Binaba ko din yung gain nung isang sub ehh, so i guess ndi din sia twice as loud. :)

The sound is cleaner though :)

Hahahaha! Thanks boss! The duals actually do more in smoothening the response, binaba ko din kasi gain. That way, the sound is cleaner, and since less stress sa drivers, i get less distortion and in  a way, prolong the subs lifespan din by working less.
