Krysten Ritter Cast as Marvel’s Jessica Jones
December 4, 2014
Two weeks ago we learned about the actresses testing for the role of Jessica Jones in Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series and today Deadline brings word that “Breaking Bad” and “Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23″ actress Krysten Ritter has been cast in the role! The outlet also reveals that Halo: Nightfall‘s Mike Colter is the top choice for the role of her husband, Luke Cage, who will appear in seven of the planned thirteen “Jessica Jones” episodes.
“Dexter” and Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg is set to executive produce the “Jessica Jones” series, which focuses on retired superhero Jessica Jones hanging up her tights and opening her own detective agency. Rosenberg is no stranger to female superhero shows either, having worked on the short-lived “Birds of Prey” series on The WB.
“Jessica Jones” is the second of five Netflix shows Marvel will roll out starting next year with “Marvel’s Daredevil.” Following the two will be both “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist,” with all four leading into a “Defenders” mini-series.

Jessica Jones episodes are out na pala.
-
Sulit ang Netflix for Jessica Jones. first time na may sex scenes sa MCU hehehe.
More of Luke Cage please! he's badass!
-
me sex scene ba kada episode?
-
May nakapanood na ba ng buong season? How is it?
-
Oo nga. Kamusta yung series?
-
Hindi ko trip :P
Currently on episode 10, Daredevil is far more superior. It doesn't feel like a Marvel hero flick, more on The girl with a dragon tattoo on steroids with a lot of annoying characters.
-
finished the entire 13 episodes. it was unfortunately a bit of a snoozer. don't know what to think of krysten ritter. she's pretty but i feel that the role didn't fit her. they tried making it as gritty as daredevil but failed.
-
I have to let this out.
You got attacked on your apartment multiple times, you got stalked, you got mobbed, someone got killed in your bed, The man that you fear the most knows where you live. Now you just saved your invulnerable boyfriend that was almost killed by that man, where to bring him? Should be the safest place in the world.... Where o where? Oh yeah! To your suspicious almost destroyed apartment! LOLOLOL!
This show sucks! :P
-
sagwa ng legs ni Carrie-Anne Moss!
Jessica can sure take serious pounding! ;D
-
Wow.. so much hate for this show. Not to be a contrarian, but I actually loved this show. Even more so than Daredevil. Richer ang character development. Krysten Ritter I think is perfect for the role, as her character is is damaged and self-destructive, and she expresses the right amount of sadness and emptiness sa performance nya. Mas grounded to reality although I know it's a "superhero" series. Give it a try. It actually has an unprecedented 4.5 star reviews on most review sites. One thing's for sure, it's not your typical superhero series.

what seems to be wrong with it? the whole season 1 has been released at one go via netflix.
-
^ Yup, Netflix's release date for the entire Season 1 (with 13 episodes) was last November 20, 2015.
-
^ ah that explains it. Akala ko per episode weekly ang release nito.
-
Same lang like what they did with daredevil
-
Episode 8 and I like it so far. Not as action packed as Daredevil but decent storyline nonetheless. Kilgrave sure is creepy.
-
It's okay...could be better because there were quite a few kamot ulo scenarios.
I agree on her always going back to her demolished apartment. That was pretty stupid.
May angles na maganda si Jessica Jones... may angles na hindi. She looks good from behind...her booty in those dirty jeans...yeah. :)
Oh, seems she only has 1 set of clothes.
Kilgrave, i found to be so stupid and unambitious. If i had his power, i can just imagine what i would be doing with it.
Still, i finished the entire season in 2 days.

I agree on her always going back to her demolished apartment. That was pretty stupid.
Pero di ba sa first episodes pa lang, it showed that she wanted to run, but decided to stay "to make things right"?
If that doesn't work then there's always the good old "suspension of disbelief", which always seems to work with Arrow and the Flash. :D
-
Staying is fine...but does it always have to be in that decrepit apartment?
nbc
-
As a P.I. didn't it occurred to Jessica Jones that with her powers she can easily break Kilgrave's jaw??? eh ilang beses niya na clear punch si Kilgrave eh..
I'm sorry for bragging but after Daredevil taas ng expectation ko dito eh, this is my getaway sana for shows like Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl :P
-
I also felt she was so inutil... Hehe. One punch from her and Kilgrave would be dead.
However, she had this "conscience " issue to deal with which was irritating for me.

-
kung ginawa nya yun eh di sana tapos na yung series episode 1 pa lang lols
and jessica is not a killer, it took a lot of convincing for her to finally decide to end kilgrave

That's where the clever writing kicks in

Finished the season, almost didnt want to anymore but i thought i had to just to take it off my list. the last few episodes excluding the finale was really getting boring already.
overall, pwede na. not much to look forward to in the next season if ever there will be one.
BTW, yung role ni Rosario Dawson dito is the same character/role she has in Daredevil? crossover?
-
Looking at Jessica Jones, it seems grittier and more interesting than Daredevil. Like Matt Murdock she's maimed, but not where you can see it.
-
BTW, yung role ni Rosario Dawson dito is the same character/role she has in Daredevil? crossover?
Yes, Rosario Dawson plays the same character - Claire Temple / Night Nurse. All the Marvel Netflix series exists in the same universe & the plan is for Claire Temple to be the initial connective thread. It was previously reported that all the Marvel Netflix heroes will eventually crossover into a team-up series, The Defenders.
-
i liked it, albeit a bit overdrawn. it could have been told in eight or less episodes.
-
It's full of ordinary life, or at least an investigation where the little details aren't skipped over--finding out what drug works for example, trying to steal that drug, trying to apply the drug. It's not so much a superhero with PTSD playing private eye as it is a private eye with PTSD who happens to have super powers. I like that.
-
Finally done with this--had to watch it one episode per week, as this series was painful to watch because the lead character was highly unlikable, and tended to drag all the show's supporting characters down with her. The conflict here was more personal, but Jessica really made a lot of stupid decisions that cost the lives of innocents around her.
There are actually 3 Marvel super-heroes here: aside from Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, there's also Trish "Patsy" Walker, who is Hellcat in the comics and was a long-time member of The Defenders, which was one of the comics that I used to read until it was cancelled a long time ago. Trish Walker was the one bright spot in this depressing series, and I'm really hoping they include her in the upcoming Defenders series.
-
I liked it overall. The villain was awesome. It loses a lot of steam around episode 10 or so. Should've been more compact and focused less on her annoying neighbors. The Rosario Dawson connection felt so artificial.
-
Netflix announced that Marvel’s Jessica Jones has been renewed for a second season.
-
^^more Trish Walker please, this time as Hellcat ;D 8)
-
Started to watch this. The S1E1 was somewhat slow. I slept along halfway. Thought it was just evening and I am tired so watched it again last Sunday afternoon. Again I almost slept. But watched the other episodes.
For me I liked Daredevil better. The flow is somewhat not that interesting (this is for my own personal preference). No offence to the ones who like it.
-
Kaya pala parang "hot" yung mother ni Trish Walker e si Rebecca De Mornay pala yun, wow! Milf na milf!
-
Finished the S01 in 3 days. I liked it very much. Naging campy na tuloy yung mga ibang shows like legends of tom., arrow, agents of shield etc.
These netflix Marvel offerings are really nice, dark and gritty for the more mature audiences. Looking forward to the best season. Buti na lang Daredevil season 2 malapit na.
-
I liked this show better than Daredevil (which I also liked, btw). Perhaps I'm just bias for that B1tch in Apartment 23 ;D
-
Started to watch this series and on episode 5 so far. Liking it better than Daredevil at this point.

From ComingSoon.Net
David Tennant Will Not Return For Jessica Jones’ Final Season
As fans prepare for the upcoming third and final season of the acclaimed Netflix Marvel drama Jessica Jones, Entertainment Weekly has brought word that one of the key things to be prepared for is the lack of the menacing Kilgrave aka Purple Man portrayed by David Tennant.
EW recently sat down with the 47-year-old Doctor Who veteran to discuss the streaming service’s cancellation of the show and during their discussion he confirmed that Kilgrave will not appear in the third season and talked on his feelings of the show’s ending.
“I don’t really regard it as a cancellation so much as something having the life that it should have,” Tennant said. “Three seasons of that story is great. Rather than thinking of it as something that was canceled, I think of it as something that had three seasons that will live in the memory.”
Though Tennant’s smooth-talking villain was killed at the end of the first season by Krysten Ritter’s titular hero, he reappeared in the second season for brief appearances in the latter half of the second season in a hallucinatory matter to Jones.
